AIBU to think Mrs Hinch needs to get a life?

I recently started following Mrs Hinch on Instagram and she irritates me so much. I understand that she likes a clean home, who doesn't, but she really, really needs to get a life.
Cleaning is not, and should not ever be a hobby. Clearly she has a lack of personality if cleaning is a hobby.

I think what really pissed me off is how incredibly bad for the environment all those chemicals and plastic bottles are. It annoys me that so many people seem to enjoy her stuff and do as she does when she is pouring loads of chemicals sold in plastic bottles into the drain every year.

I bet there is already a thread on this very subject on her left somewhere but I'll admit I didn't look before I wrote this. I just needed to vent my annoyance.

Agreed gamerchanger

Schmoobarb · 24/01/2019 20:34

I don’t have much opinion on her personally but I find the cult around her and the fetishisation of cleaning a bit bloody depressing. Invariably always daft women as well.

DonCorleoneTheThird · 24/01/2019 20:36

the beauty of these bitchy threads is that they reinforce the Hinch phenomenon, give her more clicks and let her be known by even more people.

I just hope she wouldn't get too upset by a few ugly trolls festering in their jealousy.

Sassenach85 · 24/01/2019 20:38

I can assure you OP I am no Hincher! God she would have a field day in my house! But I clicked on this thread because I class myself as a fairly decent human and something inside me is just thinking enough is enough! For god sake she's just cleaning her house. This world is full of awful people there's no way she deserves this level of constant abuse. It's depressing to think that those bitchy nasty cows from high school still exist in the adult world in such high numbers. There is really no need for it.

Ladyoftheloch · 24/01/2019 20:39

I don’t follow her on Instagram but I checked her stories just now and she mentioned trolls and haters, so I guess she does see the things people say. God knows why she looks, I would have Mumsnet blocked if I were a woman in the public eye.

staydazzling · 24/01/2019 20:39

WWYDhelp please. yes absolutely its sad to see the state its in, ive been on here on and off for nearly a decade, im pretty straight john bull as of now but i was a bit of a Pitbull back then, young and mouthy and didnt know when to just leave it. reading articulate women daily helped immeasurably but the HQ were sometimes quick to prod me for kicking off in temper but unrelenting bullying is errr, more acceptable?? Confused

tryinganewname · 24/01/2019 20:46

FFS.

This is the THIRD thread that's running about her.

Stop watching, move on with your life.

tryinganewname · 24/01/2019 20:48

P.S this is the most hypocritical post I've ever read on MN. Have a word.

GlitterStick · 24/01/2019 21:00

, I hope to god the poor woman isn’t on Mumsnet

She is Sad was on one of the other threads but still it carried on even when she said it was affecting her.

zinger · 24/01/2019 21:03

I feel for her, I don't follow her but I wouldn't wish been spoken about like this on a public forum on anyone

staydazzling · 24/01/2019 21:04

some nasty cruel 'women' on here, if their decency and morality was any lower it could parachute out of a snakes arsehole, yes thats probably considered an abusive post, deletion come @ me Grin

LittleLongDog · 24/01/2019 21:08

’I'm absolutely amazed that more people aren't concerned with the amount of waste and polluting she promotes.’

If you wanted to start a discussion on cleaning and the environment there are a lot better ways to do it than attacking someone’s personality.

finks100 · 24/01/2019 21:10

I wonder if he PR agency keeps starting these threads to increase her followers.
‘No such thing as bad publicity’.

3 nasty threads ive seen in a day, between this and all the trans threads sad I miss what mumsnet was and sad its starting to become this , it used to be so varied and rich, its become so, so toxic

another one saying well said staydazzling - been here for years but it's becoming more poisonous like you say, just thinking the same the other day, could have written your post.
Meh.

BlancheM · 24/01/2019 21:34

Could say the same about you for starting a thread just to slag someone off....but I won't Grin

Coralnails · 24/01/2019 21:47

I've never heard of this woman until today.

Can't help but wonder if all this is advertising for her.

I mean why would someone who thinks she's such a waste of time bother to even speak about her?

Guineapiglet345 · 24/01/2019 21:48

I’ve seen 3 threads about this woman now so I had a look to see what all the fuss was about and all I could see were millions of pictures on grey interior decorating. I don’t get it 🤷‍♀️

Try watching the stories (the videos) on the IG page - click on the little round circle.
That's where it's all at lol

Tenpenny · 24/01/2019 21:53

I dont like her grey interiors or understand her love of cleaning either, but she's making a fair bit of money and helping to motivate a hell of a lot of people.
I think she's lucky really - most of her tips are ancient, I'm surprised they're a revelation to all of her fans.

Guineapiglet345 · 24/01/2019 21:54

@GlitterStick it appears to be videos of a woman filming herself cleaning things which are not actually dirty in the first place, I’m none the wiser Confused

staydazzling · 24/01/2019 21:55

thankyou Glitter, its a shame dont get me i like a good bitch and moan like anyone but deary me.

MsSquiz · 24/01/2019 21:55

@LadyHardy maybe you need to get a life or a hobby of all you can do on is slate a woman you don't even know on Mumsnet!

Didn't your parents ever teach you not to say anything if you have nothing nice to say?

Ridiculous!

Tenpenny · 24/01/2019 21:57

She reminds me of that young girl on Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners who deep cleaned her lovely home everyday using gallons of bleach, while looking immaculate Confused

pandechocolate · 24/01/2019 22:00

I really like Mrs Hinch.
I find her posts entertaining, she chats to her dog the same way I talk to mine, and she is helping me learn to enjoy cleaning. Normally it's just a chore I have to do. Some of her tips I have found really useful, too.

I don't know why people have to be nasty about others and put shitty threads up. Spot of jealousy, methinks. I'd love to have made a career and got a book deal etc off of my Instagram account too. Good on her.
