AIBU to think Mrs Hinch needs to get a life?

I recently started following Mrs Hinch on Instagram and she irritates me so much. I understand that she likes a clean home, who doesn't, but she really, really needs to get a life.
Cleaning is not, and should not ever be a hobby. Clearly she has a lack of personality if cleaning is a hobby.

I think what really pissed me off is how incredibly bad for the environment all those chemicals and plastic bottles are. It annoys me that so many people seem to enjoy her stuff and do as she does when she is pouring loads of chemicals sold in plastic bottles into the drain every year.

I bet there is already a thread on this very subject on her left somewhere but I'll admit I didn't look before I wrote this. I just needed to vent my annoyance.

Oh Christ, here we fucking go again. There is another Mrs Hinch thread running right now.

Despite the fact that she’s pregnant and would probably like the support, I hope to god the poor woman isn’t on Mumsnet.

Sassenach85 · 24/01/2019 19:32

Also - this is what happens in these hinch bashing threads. People say hang on you're being horrible for no reason, and the op starts rolling out the old "yes but I'm actually concerned for the environment"

I'm so sick of reading these bloody bitchy threads!

anyideasonthis · 24/01/2019 19:32

But yes I agree OP

RJnomore1 · 24/01/2019 19:33

It's the marketing that bothers me, selling it to others as away to happiness.

I'm not quite sure how it's bullying to say that she needs to get a life and that her hobby is so boring that she can't have a personality

Really OP? Reeeeeeeeally? You can’t see at all how that’s bullying?

iamamug · 24/01/2019 19:36

Little miss mops is ace, follow her!!!!

Sassenach85 · 24/01/2019 19:38

I only found out who she was through a nasty thread on mumsnet! I do not understand the venemous hatred some people have for her?? I honestly think it speaks volumes about the people bitching and moaning and spending time on it. She's just a person!! Honestly.Hmm

bibbitybobbityyhat · 24/01/2019 19:40

I think "get a life" is a really insulting thing to say to someone and doesn't take into account that the person you are insulting might be very happy with the life they have.

However, all my instincts agree with you op and I wish women wouldn't obsess about Instagram, their looks and/or cleaning. It's just so SHALLOW, meaningless, achieves nothing, is a waste of time, waste of everything. I find it really sad.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 24/01/2019 19:41

Agree with notmorewashing!

LadyHardy · 24/01/2019 19:42

Maybe she does have mental health issues, I don't know. I really don't know much about her. I'm honestly more shocked that someone using all the shite she uses in her home has so much exposure when it's so so bad for the environment. Not to mention bad for her health to be exposed to so many chemicals.

I'm surprised by how many people have wasted Their time to come on here to complain about this thread. If you don't want to read another post about her then don't open it! Good to know I'm not the only one who has been annoyed by her though. I'll have to look up the other threads. I don't spend as much time on MN as those who have seen the other threads as I do actually have a life.

I am definitively not BU to think YOU LadyHardy need to get a life instead of raging bitterly against someone you don't know.

We get it, Mrs Hinch is slim, pretty, a bit bonkers, has a lovely home, seems very happily married and is having a baby whilst running a successful business. Gosh, that hurts doesn't it? Grin

Instagram is a way to earn a living, nothing wrong with it.

Sylvanianfamiliesnurseryset · 24/01/2019 19:43

I’m neutral to negative about her but to me this is simply bullying.

I encounter plenty of people online who don’t thrill me. It happens just about each and every day. I scroll on by. You should too.

DonCorleoneTheThird · 24/01/2019 19:44

If you don't want to read another post about her then don't open it!
oh the irony Grin Grin Grin

Sylvanianfamiliesnurseryset · 24/01/2019 19:44

Hear, hear doncorleone.

Ladyoftheloch · 24/01/2019 19:45

I don't spend as much time on MN as those who have seen the other threads as I do actually have a life.

Tbh OP you just don’t seem like a very nice person.

LadyHardy · 24/01/2019 19:48

Seriously?! People are more concerned with the fact that I think she has no life than the horrible damage she is doing to the planet Hmm.

Cleaning is not a hobby people. Clearly it shows a bit of a lack of personality if cleaning is the thing that gets you revved up. I don't hate her, I wish her no ill will but in my opinion her whole cleaning is life mantra is depressing and to me shows a lack of personality.

OP posts:
WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 24/01/2019 19:49

Surely I can't be the only on to be disgusted by this

I'm more disgusting by your nasty thread. What a horrible person you must be, OP. You're the one that should get a life.

Sylvanianfamiliesnurseryset · 24/01/2019 19:50

I wish her no ill will either which is why I don’t post horrible things about her on the internet. Just saying.

zinger · 24/01/2019 19:50

What fairylea said!

LittleLongDog · 24/01/2019 19:51

’I do actually have a life’

That’s nice. I bet you have lots of lovely things you like to do, and family, and friends. And I bet some of the things that you do or enjoy would not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Aren’t you fortunate that no one is belittling you for doing those things?

DonCorleoneTheThird · 24/01/2019 19:52

LadyHardy
you do know that people making a business out of something doesn't mean their real life revolves around that? May it be cleaning, cooking, make-up, hair-dressing, craft or whatever.

Bullying and insulting people and making badly formed judgements to me shows a lack of basic intelligence.

Didsomeonesaybunny · 24/01/2019 19:53

With 1.6m followers she seems pretty popular. I’ve watched only a few of her videos and I think she’s quite sweet really.

Lollypop27 · 24/01/2019 19:56

What a horrible thread.

I don’t follow her as I don’t like grey houses and I don’t want to watch other people cleaning their toilets.

Yes I agree she uses too many chemicals but that’s no reason to personally attack her. From the stories I have seen her so she comes across as a nice person.

I do believe she has so many followers as she’s relatable to many people. Unlike the mummy instagrammers that just advertise expensive clothes and holidays which are out of many people’s reach Mrs Hinch doesn’t. It’s affordable to go to home bargains and spend £10 on cleaning stuff or some baskets on eBay for £8. I do also think that it’s become fashionable to say my house is a shit tip because we are making memories bollocks. Mrs Hinch takes pride in her home and has encouraged others to do the same. There is nothing wrong with that at all.

From previous Instagram threads there was a lot of talk about how Instagram mums made others feel like shit because they couldn’t keep up with their lifestyles. You never hear that about Mrs Hinch though.

Xmasfairy86 · 24/01/2019 19:56

I think she’s fun. However, I don’t understand how her house warrants so much cleaning?! The amount of product she gets through must be astronomical 😂😂
