So in winter, I just put it on my face and neck, and use it as a base foundation and then I use moisturiser and sun tan lotion over the top, little bit of make-up and done.

I’m summer I use it all over!

AIBU - does anyone else do this?

I use the spray first, let it dry and then a tiny bit of the moisturiser Grin

I just don't see the point. Tanned skin is just burnt skin - doesn't look healthy and doesn't make you look younger. Can't see the attraction of using goop to make you look unhealthy.

savemefromspending · 25/01/2019 22:24

Out of interest. What's your routine and tips?!

I know you're supposed to exfoliate before the next but doesn't it half flake off?

Also what do you recommend as best products?

ThNk you

rytonsister · 25/01/2019 22:28

Seriously aren't your sheets icky?

Do you share a bed?

My beauty therapist uses it daily and doesn't wash it off but it really shows on her knuckles and hands and just looks so fake.

I love a glow but I can't stand the smell and mess all year round I use it for the Xmas do or special occasions.

BMW6 · 25/01/2019 22:57

I truly do not give a damn - but don't you look a bit strange naked?
Orange face and neck but white body????

ILoveMaxiBondi · 25/01/2019 23:04

I would too if I could be bothered OP. You don’t look orange to me.

My colleague who I’ve sat next to everyday for two years was gobsmacked to find out I use fake tan. I genuinely do not smell and I am not orange. I have a very subtle tan.

I used to wear it all the time too and a few years ago I had been seeing a guy for several months and we were out with friends and talking about fake tan and he said “I’m so glad you don’t wear that stinky stuff” I grinned and told him I’d been wearing it permanently the whole time we’d been dating. He was shocked, had no idea despite seeing me naked many times! Grin

Mummadeeze · 25/01/2019 23:05

I use Lancôme flash bronzer on Wednesdays and Sunday’s every week. But I put some extra on tonight as I am going out tomorrow night. I definitely prefer how I look with a tan and I sleep in it and wash in the morning so I don’t smell of it in the day.

Pjsandbaileys · 25/01/2019 23:11

I have skin that tans very easily and dark but all winter I am a Celtic white as you can get (must have non celt heritage somewhere along the line) I can't get away with fake tan it just well fake although I'd love to the "you ok hunny you're so pale" from November to March wears thin lol

Pjsandbaileys · 25/01/2019 23:13

Looks fake no matter what I do

YourFly · 25/01/2019 23:17

YANBU

Im too lazy

SuchAToDo · 25/01/2019 23:21

Op do you mean the stuff that washes off with one wash..or the stuff that wears off slowly

If it's the wear off stuff then you are being a bit excessive applying it daily, surely it can't have faded overnight that you need a whole new application of it...

And I'm thinking it can't be Healthy for your skin to be applying it so much an daily too...you aren't even giving it time to wear off and for your actual skin layers to breathe and experience air and daylight, your skin is literally buried under layers of dye (fake tan)..it can't be Healthy to continue doing that long term

Permanentlydisaffected · 25/01/2019 23:39

I'm not sure it really stops your skin breathing as such. I use the one that gradually fades as I go to the gym a lot and can't stand being dead white. The moisturizer with gradual tan in is fine, no different to putting moisturizer on every day surely?

halfwitpicker · 25/01/2019 23:42

The thing is, our OP doesn't look like she's wearing fake tan, she just looks healthy.

So there you go.

Permanentlydisaffected · 25/01/2019 23:43

I sort of hope I look the same but about 90 years older sadly!

datingconfusion · 26/01/2019 07:47

So I was asked for my routine Grin

I remove all of my existing makeup.
Either hop in the shower or wash my face with normal soap and use flannel to gently remove top layer. Sometimes I use those gloves to remove it all.
Moisturiser, let it sink in for an hour while I do normal thing.
Use the spray, literally 2 minutes. Let it dry.
Tiny bit of the gradual build up moisturiser.

About twice a week (it’s still on though of course Grin), I don’t use it and on those night I cover my skin in retinol reface let it all dry and seal it all in with Olive Oil after about 2 hours of drying time. Odd I know, but it seems to work.

I’m 38 so I’ve had to switch up my routine over the years Grin

ItsHardToExplain · 26/01/2019 07:58

I was like this when I first met my husband I used to say it was natural. Then we had young children close together and I didn’t have time to do it so I had to gradually phase out my tan. My skin colour was like an orange paint tester strip for a few weeks Grin

datingconfusion · 26/01/2019 08:18

If it makes you happy then crack on. I’m more envious you have the time to do it daily. I dabbled over the years but my natural pasty self plus fake tan equalled tangerine so I’ve given up.

datingconfusion · 26/01/2019 18:02

I quite like the tangerine look Wink

OP posts:
Catscratchclub · 26/01/2019 18:12

I love the tangerine look, and when I have my fake nails and lashes on..... but I’m so goddam lazy. You have inspired me to drag my arse up to tango myself tonight!

datingconfusion · 26/01/2019 18:59

I love your name Catscratchclub I assume it’s RENT related Smile

OP posts:
Catscratchclub · 26/01/2019 19:16

YES!!! I’m so chuffed you got that, no one ever remembers Rent!

Chesneyhawkes1 · 26/01/2019 19:19

I've bought some today. Bondi Sands 1 hour mousse. I'm already a little brown from holiday/sun beds so we will see how I turn out 😬

datingconfusion · 26/01/2019 19:22

Cat, I was listening to the soundtrack on the way home from work yesterday Grin

OP posts:
Voila212 · 26/01/2019 19:30

Oh God, I've been debating this recently. I'm very pale with very dark hair. Without a bit of tan i look sick, if I was to go for make up my actual colour i would look like morticia. Even fairly pale natural colours look too dark on me without a bit of tan. I'm getting so sick of tan though but I look sick without it and it's just not me thinking it, other people ask me if I'm sick!!
