So in winter, I just put it on my face and neck, and use it as a base foundation and then I use moisturiser and sun tan lotion over the top, little bit of make-up and done.

I’m summer I use it all over!

AIBU - does anyone else do this?

Yes, always and my solution was to only have dark bedding! I’m not proud of my obsession Wink

You look brilliant. I love fake tan - those who say it stinks haven’t tried it recently I reckon - it’s got much better. I’d rather be brown and smelly than pasty anyway! I tan well anyway but you can never be too brown. Makes you look thinner, more toned, eyes & teeth look brighter, and just generally more healthy. Crack on Op!

Villainess · 23/01/2019 21:26

I was a fake tan devotee for yonks, up until about 2010 I think, got bored of it and now worship at the altar of pasty.

Alexandra2018 · 23/01/2019 21:26

Do you put it on everyday?
I do it once a week I look terrible without it!

LOliver123 · 23/01/2019 21:29

I do it twice a week - each application lasting a few days. So I am never without a light tan! I am abit addicted to - I feel I look ill without it!

CaptainCabinets · 23/01/2019 21:29

Nasty witches, some of you.

You look lovely, OP! Beautiful décolletage. And I doubt you stink! Although I don’t actually mind the fake tan smell Blush

I fake tan a couple of times a year even though I LOVE IT, but I can’t do it often because my work uniform is white.

LovingLola · 23/01/2019 21:30

I’m shocked at the amount of plastic bottles you must dump every year

Zoflorabore · 23/01/2019 21:31

I'm 41 and have never used fake tan in my life. I'm pale skinned and very dark haired so could probably benefit from it but seems like a lot of work.
I do enjoy my once a year holiday tan though but it fades quickly.

Every new year I say im going to improve my skincare routine and every year I fail so at least you are consistently moisturising your skin.

Undercoverbanana · 23/01/2019 21:33

Genuine question. Why don’t you just leave yourself alone and be natural? Don’t you worry about the chemicals? How do you afford the time and money for all this stuff? Those bottles look plastic too - are you concerned about that?

EmeraldShamrock · 23/01/2019 21:41

Meh could be worse, I hope you are getting it wholesale.
I used to love tanning on a Thursday and a Sunday, these days if it is every few months I am happy. If it makes you feel better, Why not?
It can be hard to stop using it, friends asked if I was feeling unwell when I first stop using it.

Soulsista14 · 23/01/2019 21:45

Lol at those complaining about the plastic! Do you not use moisturiser? Shower gels? Shampoos? The list is endless. Hardly a reason for the OP to stop tanning herself. Hmm

Soulsista14 · 23/01/2019 21:46

Your skin colour is fab btw Smile

SinglePringle · 23/01/2019 21:48

@undercoverbanana can’t answer for the OP but as a fellow fake tan devotee...

Why don’t you just leave yourself alone and be natural?
I do, sometimes but sometimes I don’t. Fashion / make up can be fun!

Don’t you worry about the chemicals?
Nope. Do you breath outside? Multiple chemicals in your bloodstream all the time.

How do you afford the time and money for all this stuff?
Takes no time to slap on some body lotion / add drops to a body lotion and slap it on.
And money? I’m very well paid.

Those bottles look plastic too - are you concerned about that?
Mine is glass. Buy about 3 a year and recycles.

Any more judgement?

Undercoverbanana · 23/01/2019 21:51

Soulsista14 - No moisturiser.
Soap bars and shampoo bars. Much more natural and better for the environment and don’t dry natural oils in your skin and hair - hence no moisturiser required (despite age!!!!).

Undercoverbanana · 23/01/2019 21:54

SinglePringle - how am I judging? I was just asking some questions about something I know nothing about.

SinglePringle · 23/01/2019 22:00

‘Why don’t you leave yourself alone and be natural’ is an extremely loaded question. The inference is that natural is better.

The same point is made about ‘dont you worry about the chemicals’ and ‘how do you afford the time’. You can practically hear the head tilt.

It would be disingenuous to pretend otherwise. And you know it.

Fluffypot333 · 23/01/2019 22:07

I apply a light one every few days on face neck and hands in winter .It's barely noticeable but it does provide a nice case for make up

Fluffypot333 · 23/01/2019 22:07

Base not case

Undercoverbanana · 23/01/2019 22:10

SinglePringle - How on earth can I be disingenuous about something I don’t know about?

I am just asking some questions about a lifestyle I am not part of. I am not in a position to comment on YABU or YANBU without a bit more information.

AIBU is a question inviting opinion. I am trying to gain enough understanding in order to establish my opinion. Unless, of course, my opinion is less valid than that of others.

SinglePringle · 23/01/2019 22:18

Again, the question ‘why don’t you leave yourself alone and be natural?’ is loaded with judgement. The (again) subtext is ‘natural is better’, conferred by the use of ‘leave yourself alone’.

And the inclusion of a question about plastics / recycling (or not) adds a non-too subtle weight to your judgement.

It is the pretence these are not your points that is disingenuous.

Undercoverbanana · 23/01/2019 22:25

SinglePringle - Well thank you for your fascinating judgement of me.

I am sure the OP is delighted to have this pointless conversation hijacking her original question.

To the OP - I am afraid I am unable to comment on whether YABU or YANBU as I am not permitted to ask questions with the right words that are approved of by others.

GinandGingerBeer · 23/01/2019 22:46

Maybe you're an undercover tangerine @Undercoverbanana Wink
I use it just on my face and neck. My face is blue. Sad Well, the corner of my eyes is blue and it helps even up my skin tone without having to slap lots of foundation on. I only use a subtle one in winter, Chanel Soleil Identité is excellent, I like the smell and it sinks in very quickly. Only need a tiny bit.
I can barely be arsed to tan my legs in summer, no chance I'm doing it in winter!

U2HasTheEdge · 23/01/2019 22:50

I think you look a nice colour.

BTW, you have great lips!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 23/01/2019 22:59

I used to be like you OP years ago, I always sported a st tropez tan, but I weaned myself off it as it took up far too much of my time, and even though I did not use it every day it was the constant smell that really put me off, so although I like how it looks when applied lightly the pros did not outweigh the cons for me. I think yours looks great by the way.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 24/01/2019 06:48

Me too OP
365 days
