To use fake tan every single day.

So in winter, I just put it on my face and neck, and use it as a base foundation and then I use moisturiser and sun tan lotion over the top, little bit of make-up and done.

I’m summer I use it all over!

AIBU - does anyone else do this?

Lol at those complaining about the plastic! Do you not use moisturiser? Shower gels? Shampoos? The list is endless. Hardly a reason for the OP to stop tanning herself.

I use soap bars and shampoo bars. Also products in glass jars.
Lol at you and your wit.

I use it on face, neck, arms, hands every day. People always ask me if I've been away. When I tell them it's fake, they are genuinely shocked and want to know what product I use. It doesn't smell and doesn't stain bedsheets. I look 10 times better with it on. I look grey and sick without it. I love it. You go girl, you look great in your pic - but I'm envious of your dewy complexion!

LikeACowsOpinion · 24/01/2019 07:20

I do a full body application every 3 days or so. It's really subtle and means I can get out of the house fairly quickly without either slapping on a face full of makeup or looking like an extra from The Walking Dead.

My skin tone is extremely pale (and not in a nice, milky, Nicole Kidman style), I have prominent under eye circles too.

I don't mind giving up 20 minutes every few days so that I don't resemble a zombie with 2 black eyes.
I use the fast tan too. No messy bed sheets or weird smell and I can shower the tan off again within an hour or so.

Dalmatiansarefab · 24/01/2019 07:55

undercoverbanana you sound incredibly judgemental I have to agree with OP there.

I use the same Garnnier one as others do as I go to the gym a lot and hate being so white. I use a different one on my face, Xen tan which is really nice and you really can't smell it. Anyway I shower it all off in the morning so the smell is minimal.

KittyWindbag · 24/01/2019 07:59

You look fantastic, wish I could put body tanner on my face but it breaks me out!

Smallhorse · 24/01/2019 08:03

Do what makes you happy

PourFemme · 24/01/2019 08:04

I fake tan my face, neck, chest and sometimes arms twice a week in winter. I do my whole body in summer.

I’m not orange, or even ‘tanned’ looking to be honest. Just warms up my deathly pale Irish complexion a bit Grin. Agree it also makes my teeth look whiter and eyes brighter.

JollyAndBright · 24/01/2019 08:19

I use summer body lotion as my regular ‘all over’ body lotion all year round.
It’s a gradual/buildable subtle tan so works really well I think.

In spring/summer/autumn i use sally Henson airbrushed legs every day (I am a little bit addicted to it.)

In winter I wear tights so don’t need it.

FlipF · 24/01/2019 17:55

I'm not a fan of that type of fake look but it doesn't bother me if someone else likes it.

OP, what happens when you strip off. Doesn't it look funny having tanned/orange face, neck and hands then the rest of you being white.

Passportapplication · 24/01/2019 17:58

I use it too but it just makes me look less corpse like rather than orange!

TheCounter · 24/01/2019 18:05

You might not stink...but there's a good chance people think that you do.

Someone in my work uses it and I always have that nagging doubt that she's not showered for at least a couple of days.

Doesn't look hygienic.

Ps I know it's a bit unfair but it just doesn't

Tensixtysix · 24/01/2019 18:09

Fake tan in winter looks so......fake! And it has an undertone of 'Chav'.

Mummyshark2018 · 24/01/2019 18:38

Op have you tried tan luxe? It's fab. You add to your normal face/ body cream and get a much more natural glow than fake tan

TheFormidableMrsC · 24/01/2019 18:53

I'm a fake tan addict, have used it for as long as I can remember, whole body 3 times a week (I usually don't bother with my face except during the summer). I even have a sponge on a stick to do my back. I like that it makes me look slimmer, makes my stretchmarks less obvious. I am not orange. I don't stink. I put it on overnight and shower in the morning and use an exfoliating sponge with every shower to ensure it doesn't go patchy. I have a few sets of "fake tan PJ's" which means my cream sheets do not get stained. I can't imagine I'll ever stop Smile.

I think you do what makes you happy. It takes 20 mins of my time to do. The product I use is good value, lasts me a month and the bottle goes in the the recycling bin when it's finished.

schoolsoutforever · 24/01/2019 19:05

You look good to me. I'd be happy to do it everyday if I liked the look but I'm too lazy. I do fake tan every month or so when I can be bothered.

datingconfusion · 24/01/2019 21:42

I’m feeling better that so many of us are avid fake tan users Grin

Permanentlydisaffected · 25/01/2019 08:32

It does make you feel just a little bit more presentable in the depths of winter!

datingconfusion · 25/01/2019 20:54

It really does.

halfwitpicker · 25/01/2019 20:55

I do this. I do not look like a tangerine.

Shenanagins · 25/01/2019 21:22

I add some of the Lancôme face one in with my moisturiser before rubbing into my face during the winter. Gives my skin a little glow and certainly doesn’t look fake!

JenMumma · 25/01/2019 21:23

I think you look really nice! Glowy !

Chesneyhawkes1 · 25/01/2019 21:30

What's a good fake tan? One that develops over night. I use the sun bed but turn the face bit off, so use clarins drops on my face, but I wanna quit the sunbed!

Summeriscomin · 25/01/2019 21:39

I’m never ever ever without fake tan. I do my face daily (or every two days). Exfoliate every few days. St moritz just before bed and wash it off in the morning. It transforms my full look seriously.

OP which products do you use on your face and in what order? (Out of the two fake tan bottles in your photo)

Wheeesht · 25/01/2019 21:44

I used to love fake tan but think it's a bit of a dated look now.
