To think that Steve Wright on Radio 2 sounds tired?

Just that really. I think this show has run its course now. Lots of lazy links to fake Jeremy and now Paul McCartney. My Dad says he was great in his day but I think maybe his day has ended? It would be great to hear a new DJ inject some freshness into the station.

I don’t mind the music on his show but turn over for the chat. I reeeeeeeeeeeally want to like Zoe ball. Loved Chris Evans and R2 is my go to in the morning but i’m not feeling it so far.

Totally agree he is awful. I cannot understand why they've revamped the vast majority of the schedule but left him & his sycophants untouched. There is so much wrong with it- the glib, pointless factoids, the sickening fawning over slebs, and don't get me started on the god awful JV, Macca etc impressions which appear to have ramped up recently. I get the feeling that a lot of the show is pre-recorded and a very bare minimum is live. Would welcome anyone else in that slot- Gary Davies or Craig Charles for e.g.

I remember having to switch off Radio 1 back in the 90s because of his breakfast show with the farty newsagent. His show has always been cringingly unfunny, can't believe he is still going.

I hate how SW sings and talks all over the songs. It’s like he’s never moved on from the 80s when people used to tape the radio.

I really like Trevor Nelson when he covers daytime.

My radio listening is all over the place at the moment. Don’t like Zoe in the morning much as I wanted to. Used to listen to Chris until 7 then radio 4 headlines. Sometimes stick with Today, sometimes back to Chris. Back to doing that between Virgin and R4 this week. Love Sara even though I used to be a radio 4 listener on the way home (but I miss Eddie Mair). Agree about Steve Wright now, sadly. Still love Ken. Refuse to listen to Jeremy Vine ever. World at One for daytime news fix.

I had it on in the car with DS2 the other day, and he remarked that Steve Wright must know who the remaining BBC paedophiles are.

I tutted, but have to admit he has a point.

I wonder what real Jeremy makes of fake Jeremy? He thinks he's a serious journalist- it must dilute his message somewhat?

I couldn’t stand him when I was young and he was on radio 1. I loved all the other DJs at the time, but he just irritated me. He hasn’t got any better over time! He’s always been too full of his own importance and never quite noticed that he’s a knob!

He really is cringey as is Elaine Paige...also Jeremy Vine (come to think of it I'm not sure why we actually listen to radio 2 at work!!) SW and team get all their factoids from that days metro and JV finds the most pointless random story ever and asks people to call in if its ever happened to them. And has a medical phone in usually about bums, poo or pus AT LUNCHTIME!!!!

Like Chris said "there's never a right time to leave something you love but there might be a wrong time if you hang on too long". Steve is in wrong time now

I've surprised myself by quite liking Zoe in the mornings. the first show was frenetic but she seems to have settled into her stride. I always knew Sara Cox was going to be good. They both make SW stick out like a sore thumb, along with Ken who I agree is great! I've resorted to BBC Norfolk if I'm in the car and 6 music at home during the afternoon. I cant work to Radio 4 at home without going into a Brexit induced frenzy and not doing any work!

Vanessa Feltz - every time I listen surprised at how I enjoy her shows
Zoe Ball - not sure but I did turn to Virgin this morning
Ken - love
Jeremy - a bit meh
Steve - Cannot stand the show
Sara - should have been given the breakfast but she's doing well

I'm always surprised when I listen to Vanessa - she's on the ball, articulate and very well informed. I just can't listen to all the idiots who ring in.

I can not stand SW. His show is one big cringe fest. I haven't listened to him for about 15 years now. Thank fuck for 6music!

Team Craig Charles here. Great music, sexy voice, not me me me like SW. SW is way past his sell by date and the other folks on the show are shit too. The show is way too long.
Love Ken, liking Sara Cox so far, like Jeremy and like Vanessa but her voice grates, she's just too RP for my ear on this station.

Cannot stand that lady doctor on JV though. She's so far up herself she's meeting herself on the way back.

Aggh I agree. Dr on the JV show is so so irritating. When they did BMI. She was so giggly that she was perfect. I can’t see she has much sympathy with her patients. I can’t cope with her and her clakky mouth sounds.
