Bed is stuck

Sorry random title I had a double bed frame when I moved into my house, a few weeks back it broke, however I now cant get it back down the stairs?! The stair way is too narrow and it just wont fit through. Its currently stuck and in theory what goes up must come down but it wont. I dont have any help to get it down but obviously need it removed and now its completely jammed! What can I do?!

Hammer it down until broken into pieces

Seniorcitizen1 · 22/01/2019 11:41

There are not many jobs for a big hammer but this is one

tolerable · 22/01/2019 11:49

screwdriver..remove the ends

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 11:53

Have you unscrewed the ends? Is it a divan or a metal/ wooden frame?

Show us a pic and we'll come up with some ideas!

Houseonahill · 22/01/2019 11:54

Metal saw?

Bombardier25966 · 22/01/2019 11:55

How are the ends attached, are they soldered? How was it first delivered to you?

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 11:57

Ignore the mess im redocarting. But its pretty jammed.

It was brought from a second hand furniture shop and two men brought it up. They never mentioned having any trouble getting it up.

They never mentioned having any trouble getting it up. Well it's hardly something you just drop into polite conversation.

MeetJoeTurquoise · 22/01/2019 12:01

Surely there must be screws in it somewhere that need an Allen key?

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 12:02

When I say they never had trouble I mean they were literally in and out, Ive been trying for almost an hour 😩

Bombardier25966 · 22/01/2019 12:02

It's just the base that's stuck, that makes more sense! I'd say you need another person so one can turn it at the bottom whilst you twist it at the top. Good luck!

TheDogAteMySock · 22/01/2019 12:04

I think it looks nice there, you could make a feature of it, perhaps some ivy climbing up it?

Yabbers · 22/01/2019 12:04

Ahhh sirmione beat me to it

Me too!

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 12:04

doesnt seem to be any screws no, just double checked.

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 12:14

I dont but I can just about crawl under the bed to get upstairs dont know whether to laugh or cry! its stuck where it is now and cant go back up either Confused

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 22/01/2019 12:16

No trouble getting it up.

Literally in and out.

What kind of thread have I stumbled on here?

I know it's easier said than done, but i reckon the bit of base at the bottom right needs to be at the bottom left and the bit at the top left needs to be at the top right. Is there anyone in the area who can help you? Would be much easier with someone else helping.

Is there a house clearance company nearby you can bung a fiver or tenner to to help you remove it, they will be more used to getting these types of things out of houses, or even the shop you bought it from might help for a donation.

AornisHades · 22/01/2019 12:19

You need to push it up and rotate it a bit more to free up the bit that's stuck on the step but that's difficult and probably dangerous to do by yourself.

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 12:19

The shop has now closed down. Good idea about the house clearance thing though. I will have a google!
