Bed is stuck

Sorry random title I had a double bed frame when I moved into my house, a few weeks back it broke, however I now cant get it back down the stairs?! The stair way is too narrow and it just wont fit through. Its currently stuck and in theory what goes up must come down but it wont. I dont have any help to get it down but obviously need it removed and now its completely jammed! What can I do?!

When my daft friends and I were moving stuff about in our youth a lot of stuff came in and out of windows (including upstairs ones).

steppemum · 22/01/2019 13:10

dh just looked at it and said, looks like you need to pivot it a bit.

No humour intended Grin

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 17:45

Ive got two men here at the moment and they cant
do it 😭

OP posts:
Racecardriver · 22/01/2019 17:47

Will it fit through your window?

M3lon · 22/01/2019 17:49

This is a job for Dirk Gently and his holistic detective agency....honestly...get the book and read the solution to all your stuck furniture related problems.

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 17:49

No 😢

Oddcat · 22/01/2019 18:01

Can’t you jump on it and bend it a bit ? The bed that is .

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 18:02

They are convinced that I had the ceiling redone to bring it up but I didnt wtf

showmeshoyu · 22/01/2019 18:02

I still have to pay them right

Forget that, I'd have paid the ones who didn't have trouble getting it up, at least you're guaranteed some satisfaction.

Matron.

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 18:04

Lol this is serious you know 😩😩

helpfulperson · 22/01/2019 18:06

Just came on to see if anyone had mentioned Dirk Gently. Well worth a read.

M3lon · 22/01/2019 18:10

its my actual favourite book!

Even if everything between herring and marmalade is missing....

SistersResistingTheCisThing · 22/01/2019 18:21

I don't mean this to sound horrible, but if getting the bed downstairs is beyond you, please don't let loose with an angle grinder Grin

I think PP has it, you need to "flip" it so in the picture, the smaller width edge is where the bigger edge is. That probably makes no sense.

Do you have a lump hammer? You could batter it into a folded shape. It would be very satisfying. Wear steel capped boots though maybe Grin

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 18:41

The two men cant get it down 😩 they think its a mystery lol! they dont believe me when I said it came up, they think the ceilings were redone. Theyve got to get an angle grinder they said, unless that was just an excuse to go lol

bourbonbiccy · 22/01/2019 20:03

@sirmione16 first thing I thought also.... Gave me a chuckle lol

CandyCreeper · 22/01/2019 21:45

You will all be happy to know it was actually cut in half in the end like ross did 😂😩 its gone! they even took it away for me without extra cost.

CarrieBlu · 22/01/2019 22:35

Hahaha, sorry OP but that photo brought back a brilliant memory of DH and I trying to get our king size bed down the stairs and it became completely jammed, we couldn’t move it up or down. I ended up stuck upstairs for the night and he slept downstairs on the sofa. He even passed me drinks and snacks through the gaps. His mate rescued me the next day by taking an angle grinder to the frame, it was the only way for us too!
