Aww, I want to drool over him but he's just not doing it for me.

Drogosnextwife · 22/01/2019 09:58

Waow!! He looks a bit like my ex, if my ex had grown a beard. I wasn't particularly sexually attracted to my ex funnily enough.

User758172 · 22/01/2019 10:18

He looks just like my dad!

Shock
Hoppinggreen · 22/01/2019 10:24

Really don’t like beards but I still would

RabbitseatDogs · 22/01/2019 10:27

He looks like Rob Brydon, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. What's going on with his hair though, is it a bun?

I think I need a bobyguard, where would I get one?

olafolaf · 22/01/2019 10:31

donquixotedelamancha

Yes
Double standards indeed

DontCallMeCharlotte · 22/01/2019 10:39

Ooooh no! He looks like my late great Dad if he'd had a beard Confused

(Rob Brydon is the absolute image of my Dad and I actually find it quite unnerving RabbitseatDogs).

RabbitseatDogs · 22/01/2019 10:59

Charlotte maybe Rob Brydon is the uncle you never knew you had?

What is his hair though? It's not a bun it looks like a plait, through the middle. Like a horse?

Mitsuki · 22/01/2019 11:26

Fuck sake you lot if a bloke posted this about a woman you'd all be crying sexism and misogyny! Take a look at yourselves

only joking, I'd climb him like a tree

I know you were only joking but this is actually true. Double standards.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/01/2019 11:32

Clearly sticking with the job was worth it after all ...

User758172 · 22/01/2019 11:45

@Mitsuki

Double standards is right.

Somerville · 22/01/2019 11:47

Seriously? He’s not attractive at all. Confused

thenightsky · 22/01/2019 11:50

He looks a lot like my (now deceased) dad, but with a beard.

1ndig0 · 22/01/2019 11:51

“He’s not attractive at all”

Well he is in comparison to the rest of Westminsterenders, let’s be fair.

To be honest, he looks like a more British version of my DH Grin

nojellybabies · 22/01/2019 11:51

:) dorisdogs

TatianaLarina · 22/01/2019 11:54

Honestly, I think he looks like a murderer. If he’s ex SF, then he sort of is.

1ndig0 · 22/01/2019 11:57

Eh - Why does he look like a murderer?

Who would be more likely to get the “people’s vote” - him or Nigel Farage? Let’s face it.

TatianaLarina · 22/01/2019 11:58

I’d say neither.

Somerville · 22/01/2019 12:05

Well he is in comparison to the rest of Westminsterenders, let’s be fair.

He passes that very low bar, sure!

The most attractive thing about a man to me is a really firm jawline. So beards just make me go meh.

NotAColdWomanHenry · 22/01/2019 12:15

There is kind of a difference though IMO. Re the double standards. I do actually try not to have double standards in general and I try to avoid sexism against men. But OTOH, group lusting over someone fanciable is something both sexes do, including all sexualities.

When men do it about a woman, I don't mind if it's respectful and not threatening. I wouldn't mind men saying to each other "Phwoar Laura Kuenssberg is hot and I totally would" (to keep with the Westminster theme :o).

The problem comes because there is a context where men are more powerful and in RL a woman is more likely to be in a situation where she doesn't have a choice / could be forced / attacked by men and we all know that, and some men's "lusting" tips over into that realm. So female group lusting, in this context, is generally less threatening.

That doesn't mean it's OK to do it to a man in his presence if he doesn't like it, make him feel uncomfortable etc. Neither way round is that OK.

But piling in saying "phwoar" about someone is normal and should be OK. It should be OK either way, and the more equal the sexes become, the more OK it is IMO.

NotAColdWomanHenry · 22/01/2019 12:17

I'm thinking aloud a bit on this and that could be a total feminist fail. Happy to be shouted down if I'm wrong.

NotAColdWomanHenry · 22/01/2019 12:19

I mean would it be OK if a male MNer joined the thread to say he also fancied Mr Bodyguard? If so, why?

Mitsuki · 22/01/2019 12:34

But piling in saying "phwoar" about someone is normal and should be OK. It should be OK either way, and the more equal the sexes become, the more OK it is IMO

I know what you mean but I think if a man were to post this about a woman people would be calling him creepy and a lech and it wouldn't get the same light hearted response.

Just my thoughts though.

MrsFogi · 22/01/2019 12:39

He's not a patch on Michael Gove.

longwayoff · 22/01/2019 12:39

Oh good heavens above!. Why should Boris have all the fun?
