A light-hearted thread, these are the names people have called me crazy for liking but they're my guilty pleasure names!
Am I alone in all of them? Or does anyone else like any of these?
FWIW, I wouldn't be brave enough to use any, but I do love them! Blush

Boys: Basil, Clay, Humphrey, Pluto, Rubeus, Rusty, Tokyo

Girls: Asia, Bambi, Grey, Jonah, Kobie, Panda, Texas, Tig

Are they all as crazy as people make out? 😂
Also FWIW, my baby name list includes completely mainstream and traditional names too, these are the most 'out there' of a big bunch, I'm just interested to see if there's any other odd one out person who likes any from my out out there list!

Mainly sound like children’s cartoon characters or strippers, some could double as both

Agree with canuckduck, Clay was a common name in Canada where I grew up. I can think of three Clay's (short for Clayton) I know as adults now.

Grey/Grae for a girl is growing in popularity here. Kobe is a boys' name here but acceptable.

The rest.. not so much.

all I think is 'cool, you obviously had interesting parents, lucky you!

Giving a hapless child a yooneek name makes a parent "interesting" about as much as dyeing one's hair a weird color makes a person "interesting"--i.e., not at all.

Asia was one of the names I had picked out when I was pregnant with my eldest over 20 years ago,but when she popped out with her fair skin, blue eyes and blonde hair she just didn't suit the name at all,so we called her Europe instead.....no I'm joking we didn't call her Europe haha. Anyway I still think it's a lovely name, but I don't like any of the other names on your list at all, soz.

I know an adult Bambi. Her surname is cracking too so the two make a striking combo.

I know a Pandora, nn Panda. I've grown used to it and now think it's adorable!

Boys names are great for a beloved pet. Thinking on a new kitten - choosing Basil - thank you OP.

Claudia1980 · 21/01/2019 06:30

Sorry they are all terrible names. Your future child will despise you.

Panda makes me think of panda from skins and Bambi from secret diary of a call girl.

Like a few of them.
Anything is better than the usual double-barrelled nonsense we keep hearing, usually a name teamed with “-Mae”!
