To think the fortnite craze may be coming to an end

My 11 year old son has been fortnite mad for the last year and there was a time when I wondered if the fortnite craze would ever come to an end. We have always been quite relaxed about him playing games but were just getting to the point for the first time of wondering if we needed to limit more. Have noticed since Christmas though that he's been playing less and has got interested again in some of his other computer games or watching tv. He usually plays fortnite online with his school friends so I asked if they were missing him and he said no because they weren't really playing as much anymore either. Wondered if other parents are experiencing the same.

my nephew told me he “doesnt like it anymore” after I bought him a fortnite top for xmas 🙄

My DS and stopped playing, I think he's had one game this year.

Yes DS11 says it's "rubbish" now and him and all his friends have stopped playing it
So rubbish he played it solidly for a year but that's fickle kids for you.

It's still going strong in my house and all the dc's friends are still playing too.

I hope and think so. DS13 was out all day today. Normally he'd be straight on his Xbox when he gets in. Hasn't gone near it though. Same last weekend. Hoping that keeping him extra busy with other things does the trick.

I hope so. I'm a gamer myself and these stupid multiplayer games and stagnating the development of single player games.

I've noticed ds12 switching Fortnite for other games and activities. It's been popular for 18 months+ so long enough imo

So sounds like a few of you are noticing it's dropping off a bit. I think it's peaked.

Yes I think it may have peaked (thank god). DS (13) doesn’t play it much and says it’s boring. Still does the dances though!

Its over in this house. Noticed this just before Christmas

My 16 old ds seems to have gone off it a bit too. Just downloaded some gta game and is playing that more.

What's the next thing I wonder.

Ds(14) and friends dont play anymore. He said they've changed it recently with an upgrade and removed some good bits and added some stupid huge guns and something to do with a shopping trolley you can ride in and it is rubbish now.

It's stopped in this house! I kind of miss walking in to the games room & annoying my teen by speaking loudly to whoever he was playing with at the time! He has gone retro now & dug out the wii of all things!

There is another craze-coin something. Spreading like wildfire through the school I work in!

Cananybody - yes I'm wondering what's next too! In the last 2 or 3 years our household has had fortnite, minecraft, pokemon and fidget spinners! Someone's probably inventing the next big thing already.
