To think the fortnite craze may be coming to an end

My 11 year old son has been fortnite mad for the last year and there was a time when I wondered if the fortnite craze would ever come to an end. We have always been quite relaxed about him playing games but were just getting to the point for the first time of wondering if we needed to limit more. Have noticed since Christmas though that he's been playing less and has got interested again in some of his other computer games or watching tv. He usually plays fortnite online with his school friends so I asked if they were missing him and he said no because they weren't really playing as much anymore either. Wondered if other parents are experiencing the same.

Foxy baxter - my ds dug out his wii too! We had a big hunt for the controllers as he hadn't played on it for so long.

Yes, even my die-hard Year 8 bottom set of 20 boys have stopped talking about it I've noticed. Phew. I was really worried we were heading for a crisis at one point.

Dd told me he realised there were far better things he could with his time, sin e he stopped playing fortnite he's been in his room much more. I don't want to know what he is doing in there.

huuskymam · 19/01/2019 23:38

It's not dropping off in my house unfortunately. Ds 9, plays with some boys from school so it's all they talk about in when the meet up ebery morning. I really port their teacher with all the dancing in line 🙄🙄

Yes, it’s over here too (ds 12). FIFA 19 has taken its place though! At least that doesn’t seem to involve quite so much raging!

flyingspaghettimonster · 20/01/2019 03:38

Still going strong here, although I have noticed less tantrums when i ask for the tv bacl, and more use of other games again.

MonsterKidz · 20/01/2019 03:53

I am praying you are right! God I loathe that game!!

snowdress · 20/01/2019 06:20

Yes here, DS gone back to fifa Smile

CanuckBC · 20/01/2019 06:31

My oldest as a whole has moved on too other games. My youngest is still full on. I could use with way less Fortnite and way more anything else!

Northernsights · 20/01/2019 06:36

Ds back to fifa too. But I sort of miss fortnite, there was much less raging when he was chatting to friends. Not winning at fifa is worst rage ever!

Zoflorabore · 20/01/2019 06:37

I've only noticed it as ds (15) is swamped with GCSE coursework and revision for mocks so has been going on less in general BUT when he does go on his Xbox it's straight to Fortnite! I bloody hate it.

I think it's getting bigger to be honest with all of the updates and extras. I don't think anyone realised how big this would beand how loud

Ceejly · 20/01/2019 06:39

I have notices kids at school talking about it less.

@leccybiko my bottom set S2s (y9?) Have stopped too. Eerie.

Not here Sad

But the dancing has stopped and he is playing his Spider-Man game now so I think he obsession is wearing off
