Tribute - Tenacious D.

Andromeida59 · 20/01/2019 02:16

We have loads. One music related in-joke is when we're together and we hear a song by Madness we always say "Did you know, Madness were so popular in the 80's, they used to do matinees for kids?".
My memory is shocking so I'd repeated this to him on a couple of occasions. Now it's stuck. Grin

Empathy56 · 20/01/2019 02:25

Sunshine by GabrielleSmile

TinyRick · 20/01/2019 02:41

Our main song is by a very little known Aussie metal band so not worth mentioning here Grin

Our other song (with a story behind it) is Nine Inch Nail's 'We're in This Together'.

BagofTeeth · 20/01/2019 03:38

We don't have one. We have plenty of songs we enjoy and our first dance was a song that had meaning but wasn't "our" song.

WitheredfromtheLake · 20/01/2019 04:46

Here is a song for you, by Paul Metsers.

HistoriaTrixie · 20/01/2019 05:26

Wink and a Smile by Harry Connick Jr.

caringcarer · 20/01/2019 05:56

She's the one - Daniel Beddingfield. It was playing everywhere when we first started dating and we played it at wedding when we signed register. First dance to an Anniversary Walse.

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 20/01/2019 06:09

We don't have one.
Is it like a couples theme song?

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 20/01/2019 06:10

FascinatingCarrot Right on down the line- Gerry Rafferty

Same for us!!!!! Grin

We also have Read My Mind by the Killers

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 20/01/2019 06:38

Also, I Will Follow You into the Dark-Death Cab for Cutie

First Day of My Life-Bright Eyes

SOOOO many really!!! It's a running joke with us really! Everytime one of our many songs come on, we turn it up and sing it together if we're in the car, if it comes on at home, we dance in the kitchen and sing it.!

It's wonderful to be in LOVE!!!!!!!

Nerfballs · 20/01/2019 06:53

Come What May from Moulin Rouge and I Shall Believe by Sheryl Crow. First is from the first year together knowing we'd get married, the second Liz & Max's song from Roswell which we both love (watched the second season on our honeymoon) and is particularly meaningful given some serious mental health struggles we've walked through together. Love having special songs Smile

TheDowagerCuntess · 20/01/2019 07:09

When I Fall in Love by Nat King Cole was our first wedding dance song, but I wouldn't say that was our song.

Probably Where Do You Go To My Lovely.

Those Were The Days, also. We've Only Just Begun. Black Velvet Band. Last Christmas. There are lots.

Ringdonna · 20/01/2019 07:50

Alright Now by Free

Modestandatinybitsexy · 20/01/2019 09:04

Still into you - Paramore. Was our first dance and we still always turn it up if it's on the radio.

From when we met and first got together I think it would be I bet you look good on the dance floor - Artic Monkeys or anything from Panic at the Disco or Fall Out Boys first albums.

Rememory · 20/01/2019 14:54

To the PP who asked - No, you don't have to have a song. The ones I listed are ours because we think of each other when we hear them. I asked him before I added my earlier post, he agreed.

ETanny · 20/01/2019 15:07

We have a few that we say are "our songs" to each other, a couple are tounge in cheek but these two are the most important ones in my opinion...

Drugs and Candy - All time low. This seemed to come on all the time when we first started hanging out.

Easy to love you - Theory of a Deadman. He played it to me after I got back from a works night out and said it was his song for me.

adaline · 20/01/2019 15:23

Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden.

1,2,3,4 by Plain White T's.

raviolidreaming · 20/01/2019 15:24

We don't have an 'official song' but there are a good number that both the husband and I could recognise from first proper date, our wedding, playing when our son was born. They make me happy if I hear them at work or out and about; they invoke wonderful memories.

Bridge over Troubled Water and You've Got the Love are probably the main two.

SusanneLinder · 20/01/2019 15:24

Will you by Hazel O'Connor....Blush
If you listen to the words it reminds us of the first time......
And DH and I still giggle when we hear it.

(It was not our first dance song, which I now truly hate...Hmm)

lumpybumpylooloo · 20/01/2019 15:31

‘Amazed’ by Lonestar was our first dance at our wedding so that’s definitely our original song.

We also love all the instrumentals from ‘Love Actually’ as that was our just after we got engaged and featured on our wedding DVD.

About 4 years ago, we added ‘The One’ by kodaline as we felt like the words were so perfect.

‘Iris’ by GooGoo Dolls, ‘Chasing Cars’ by Snow Patrol and ‘The Reason’ by Hoobastank all hold significance for us too.

AwkwardSquad · 20/01/2019 16:23

@SusanneLinder such a beautiful song, but so heartbreakingly sad as well. Thank you for reminding me of it.

bert3400 · 20/01/2019 16:25

Destiny by Zero 7 . Our friend sung it at our wedding, it's beautiful

RocketPockets · 20/01/2019 16:27

Our is paradise by the dashboard light! It wasn't popular or anything has just kind of become ours 😂
Decided against it for our wedding for obvious reasons and had one day like this (elbow) for our first dance and can you feel the love tonight, hey Jude & some guns and roses during the ceremony Smile
