After all your bills are paid how much money you are left with every month?

H and I disagree on how well off we are. After pensions and bills are paid we have about £2200 a month left over. I think that a very healthy disposable income. H things we aren’t as ell off as I think we are. His ideas are slanted by a vey affluent upbringing. Mine was more ‘normal’

Oh wow, what nasty replies. It's not your fault OP if you earn more than other MNers. You should still be able to ask advice, it's an open forum. Sure, the problem you're having with your OH is one that lots of people would like to have, but there are plenty worse "my diamond shoes are too tight" type threads than this one.

I'd say you're comfortable but not rolling. Depends where you live but in London 2 grand doesn't go that far in a month. Especially if you like days out, meals out etc at the weekends.

It hasn't been very nice reading but at least your thread will probably prove your point to your OH... You aren't doing to badly!

What my budget says I’m supposed to have and what I actually always end up with are 2 different things.

After mortgage, bills, petrol, clothes and food i have about £500 spare. But somehow it gets frittered away and I end up teetering on the edge of my overdraft!

I am SO shit with money.
