They won't speak to me, they're totally unreasonable right?

To think if I was asked to do a job, and I'd plugged away for 2 years. Rejected any outside help, postponed meetings with the board to then give a poorly put together business plan that pleased nobody and lost me the boards confidence. To then agree that MAYBE I need a bit of help.

Should I be surprised that some of the board members lack confidence in me and and don't want to now talk to me on MY terms??? They're being unreasonable towards me right? Wink

Mrs May, is that you?

Singlenotsingle · 17/01/2019 23:29

Don't be silly. You're the one who's being U. Why should they speak to you on your terms when you're the one who's shown yourself to be incapable? Shock

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/01/2019 23:30

Hi Theresa. Grin

Singlenotsingle · 17/01/2019 23:30

Mrs May?

Disquieted1 · 17/01/2019 23:31

They're being unreasonable towards me right? wink

Because how you feel is more important than the greater good.

Jon65 · 17/01/2019 23:32

Maybe so, but what is the alternative? Boris Gove Rudd or Corbyn? Corbyn is the one who said I'm not going to your meeting because i want to set the agenda. Fgs, let's call the whole thing off and deal with everything that has been ignored for the past 2 years.

Jon65 · 17/01/2019 23:34

Oh yes Boris was the foreign office arse who fucked up the Iranian case, Gove fucked up education and the justice ministry and rudd was forced to resign but is now back. Not to forget little lord mogg . . .

BertrandRussell · 17/01/2019 23:35

Don’t worry. The other side need you FAR more than you need them. All you have to do is stand firm-they’ll be coming begging in no time.

Ninjafox · 17/01/2019 23:39

Jon65 you are totally on my wavelength, you can see that some of my inner team are absolute pap. I do all their coursework for them and they're still not grateful.

I think that you’ve been left to sort out someone else’s mess. You need to stand up for yourself and don’t take any shit. Your project probably just needs a bit of tweaking.

mummmy2017 · 17/01/2019 23:42

Yes but the people you went to meet abroad have screwed you over, your not very good at making deals are you.
Even if you like to pretend you are.

Ninjafox · 17/01/2019 23:45

Well I'm really open to your ideas mummmy2017, maybe I could sack some of my team and you could jump aboard Grin

It's like being team captain on the first week of the apprentice

tubspreciousthings · 17/01/2019 23:55

The only thing you can do now to keep any credibility is shelve the entire idea imo. You won't be popular, but you're hardly flavour of the month now.

mummmy2017 · 18/01/2019 00:00

Was it not you who said no deal is better than a bad deal?
Leave means leave!

EL2019 · 18/01/2019 00:00

You need to look up sunk cost fallacy.

Just because something has been expensive and cost effort is no reason to continue.

ChakiraChakra · 18/01/2019 00:01

ninjafox have you considered being honest and telling the board that the project is impossible and that you'll be cancelling it with immediate effect? One that's firmly in place I'd resign if I were you, off to a nice sunny beach somewhere.

Ninjafox · 18/01/2019 00:03

Mummmy2017 you really should work for the team. You have the right level of enthusiasm to help push my message.

You had all these red lines that you were saying you would not compromise on, yet you seem to have lost the backbone you once had...
Go drink some of hubby whiskey, walk out to the press and tell them the bankers in the EU called your answer is no deal....
You will be a hero to well over 10 million and respected. Y another 10 million.
You will go down in history, DC will scream in rage as you will be shown to have bigger balls than him.

tildaMa · 18/01/2019 00:18

You need to put your big girl pants on, admit this project is not worth the money spent on it and just shelve it.

explodingkitten · 18/01/2019 00:24

You cannot make the EU make a deal that they do not want.
