And if you find it effective for anxiety?

I'm running out of other options, having suffered for over half my life. Meds only ever help up to a point. Short courses of CBT have had no long term effect. I can't afford therapy.

I've tried fresh air, walks, running, swimming, crafting etc.

I just want to feel less doomed every day.

I've tried the low strength H&B one but didn't find it had much effect to be honest. That one was pretty expensive and I'm loathe to pay out for the more expensive higher concentrate ones and them not work.

There is a facebook group called CBD Users UK where I imagine you would get a lot more responses to your question :)

Biancadelrioisback · 17/01/2019 17:43

I do!
I get the H&B one but I get the stronger one. I had the weaker one at first and I found it worked somewhat but upped it to see if that helped more and it did.
I just helps me stay calm. I don't care if it is a placebo, it's working when other things haven't.

cricketmum84 · 17/01/2019 17:46

@Biancadelrioisback which strength do you use? Do you mind me asking if you are on any other medication for anxiety?

Biancadelrioisback · 17/01/2019 18:02

I use this one:
www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/jacob-hooy-cbd-oil-5-60018333?skuid=018334

it's 5% strength. I was taking sertraline but it didn't feel like it was working. I went back to the docs a few times and was given different strengths. I found it made getting to sleep and staying asleep quite difficult!

Stressedout10 · 17/01/2019 18:10

Unfortunately none of the CBD oil you can legally buy in the UK is at far to low a dose to have any effect other than the placebo effect

Biancadelriosback · 17/01/2019 18:36

Placebo or not, like I say, it makes me feel better

zenasfuck · 17/01/2019 18:41

@Stressedout10 that is incorrect

I buy a 1500mg oil which works extremely well

Holland and barret stuff is crap and nowhere near the strength needed to have any therapeutic effect

Grumpyoldblonde · 17/01/2019 18:52

Biancadelriosback yes I use that too and placebo or not it makes me feel loads better.

TheQueef · 17/01/2019 18:56

Stressed CBD oil in the UK doesn't have THC, the cannabinoid still works.

Dixiegirl77 · 17/01/2019 19:22

I use capsules &I also have a vape that I use if out and have anxiety, studies have shown vaping the cbd is best way to use it,I also have MS and works better than pain meds the doc gave me.
H&B oil isn't the best and works out expensive.

Birdsgottafly · 17/01/2019 20:00

"Holland and barret stuff is crap and nowhere near the strength needed to have any therapeutic effect".

Yet it's working for people.

I use the H&B stronger one. I was out of pain within two days and more mobile. It could have been that, that helped my anxiety, but that improved as well. I also slept better.

Silverschool321 · 17/01/2019 20:02

A friend of mine swears by it as a supplement to ease rheumatoid arthritis. She gets a high strength organic one online though

Abra1de · 17/01/2019 20:03

This one helps me sleep. It’s 10%.

To ask if any of you use CBD oil?
ChardonnaysPrettySister · 17/01/2019 20:04

Boots carry stronger ones, up to 11 I think.

Yogagirl123 · 17/01/2019 20:06

Not used it myself, but many of my friends with MS do. I am seriously considering it, I also have MS.

Thepinkyponk · 17/01/2019 20:21

I suffer from anxiety so am following this post with curiosity.

Just to confirm, CBD oil has no psychoactive effects does it? I tried cannabis in my teens and it gave me the most horrible panic attack. I've been weary to try anything cbd related because of this.

Biancadelriosback · 17/01/2019 20:27

No, definitely not the same as consuming weed

cricketmum84 · 17/01/2019 20:29

@Thepinkyponk the chemical in weed that causes you to feel high is THC. There is no THC in CBD oil so no not the same :)

Eliza9917 · 17/01/2019 20:49

I had my dog on it for her cancer. I think it helped with pain and gave her extra time. We gave what was left to someone suffering multiple fits per day and they cleared up to practically non existent so I believe it works for all kinds of things.

PlayerOneReady · 17/01/2019 20:54

I tried it for migraines, it gave me really crazy dreams. I also didn’t like the taste. I didn’t really get on with it and didn’t keep going long enough to say whether it works for migraine or not but I have a few friends who swear by it. I got mine from a health food shop, I don’t think the H&B one is meant to be very good, but that’s just what I’ve heard anecdotally.

Dixiegirl77 · 17/01/2019 21:28

Have you tried the capsules?

SpamChaudFroid · 18/01/2019 08:41

I use the drops, 10% and the vape juice at 30%. It's bloody fantastic for my insomnia caused by peri-menopause. Not psychotropic at all.

CuriousMama · 18/01/2019 08:49

I'm coming off citalopram and got the stronger H&B one but have mislaid it? It did take the edge off. I got it on ebay much cheaper.

I fancy getting a vape but not sure which one?

Asteria36 · 18/01/2019 09:02

My mother is rushing around every dinner party in the county banging the drum for CBD oils. She has been on it in quite high doses for a few months now and has seen good results. She has constant pain from a lifelong back problem and has been on meds for high blood pressure for 20 years - about a week ago she stopped the meds for both of them, with the support of her GP.
The oils that she uses are not cheap, she started out with the H&B ones, but they were not brilliant.
My sister in law has also found they help with her anxiety.
Oh also, my mother has an ancient terrier that is constantly fitting - the oils seem to have helped her too!

SpamChaudFroid · 18/01/2019 09:15

I use mine in an Aspire 2 Confused, with a 1.2 ohm coil. You don't want something too powerful, or a coil with too little resistance to prevent the (fairly pricey) cbd juice from evaporating away too quickly. Also, never try to use CBD oil intended as a tincture in the vape, as vaping substances not intended for that purpose can harm your lungs.
