Question for the Frasier experts (I think I watched most of them when it was aired on Channel 4 back in the day, but I don't think I've seen the last series and haven't watched them in the modern era of everything being available on streaming somewhere).

Was Maris ever actually in the show, or was she one of those 'ghost characters' (there's probably a technical term for this) who was always talked about and featured in the story lines, but never actually appeared in person - because I think that's how I remember her, so am now curious.
