People expecting me to travel thousands of miles to attend their destination wedding.

People putting their name on waiting lists for designer handbags that cost thousands of pounds.

Pamper parties for 9 year olds.

Any other grumpy old ladies like to list the modern day nonsense they can live without?

You are not the only one Bloomcounty, I also loathe xmas with every fibre of my being and stayed at home on my own this xmas with no special food or decorations like the massive humbug that I am Grin

I won't put up with ANY crap from men anymore, no misogyny, no laziness, no bullshit. Any man who gives me grief is out of my life.

CatRen · 20/01/2019 11:09

Arran A BREAD flight? Fuck. That. 😂

JustDanceAddict · 20/01/2019 11:18

Baby showers - not around in ‘my day’. I just don’t get it. Come and see me and baby when they’re born and if you like, bring a gift then.
Massively expensive & international destination stag:hen do’s. Again, a relatively new phenomenon.
Botox etc. Those who’ve had it don’t look younger if you look at their hands and turkey neck! Lip fillers etc on youngsters - 100x worse.
Obsession w insta, Snapchat. Bad for mental health.
Fortnite Et al - don’t even go there.
Going in car for a 10 min walk to school which you’ll have to walk 5 mins of anyway as you can’t get a space close enough!!
I walked to primary every day of my life - which was about that distance.
Chain restaurants that are now shite.

JustDanceAddict · 20/01/2019 11:19

Totally agree on the football one. Dh will have watched the match and the commentary after, then watched MOTD. He wonders why I make my own social life now...

pootleposeyperkin · 20/01/2019 11:19

'Well done you survived my Facebook cull'. Delete

donajimena · 20/01/2019 11:23

I saw a sign in a mobile shop yesterday selling Instagram followers. Is peoples self worth so tied up with how many fucking followers that they are willing to pay for it?

Lweji · 20/01/2019 12:24

What the hell is a wine flight? I know I should just Google it.

Goodmum1234 · 20/01/2019 19:25

Hashtags! # still don’t quite get it.
People who filter themselves as dogs and ‘cute’ animals. Gives me the fucking rage- grown women ffs

Meesh77 · 20/01/2019 19:33

People who turn up 20+ minutes late to a meeting and expect a round of introductions. Oh fuck off. We are talking! Sneak in quietly and shut up. When the chair asks do you need introductions, decline politely and work it out by a process of elimination!!!!!

GenderIsAPrison · 20/01/2019 20:23

Yes # hashtags
I don't get them either...and can't be arse to figure them out.
When? How? Why? do we use them?

capri1968 · 20/01/2019 20:39

I cannot stop laughing at these posts on here sums me up modern life has become a bit tiresome at times lol look at me and all that crap narcistic behaviour at it's best lol sums up Britain today self obsessed and absorbed people up their own rear ends.

mystifiedinbrighton · 20/01/2019 20:44

Destination weddings
Stag and hen doos involving more than dinner and drinks
Weird filters and photoshopping on social media when you know exactly what people really look like
Hashtags of any description
Social media generally
Stupid duck face photos
Most cosmetic surgery

mystifiedinbrighton · 20/01/2019 20:45

And most of all- fast driving. Loathe it.

adriano007 · 20/01/2019 20:51

I don`t think I ever had time for nonsense. Even before middle-age Grin

Certainly have no sympathy for snowflakes and cry-babies...
You fell? Got hurt? Did you learn from it?... now get up and carry on! Grin

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 20/01/2019 20:57

Nepotism.
Just seen the ad with a Chris Evans and his son. If your son aged nine can do the advert as well as you, it just shows how overpaid you really are.
Add to the list of Gallagher daughter, Gordon Ramseys daughter and numerous others.

ssd · 20/01/2019 23:42

Lol really feckin winds me up

Sarcelle · 21/01/2019 06:21

Shewore - you are so right about celebrity offspring. The next few generations of celebrities will feature a lot of celeb's kids. You just know the Beckham kids will want to be famous rather than get a normal job. I saw that Evans ad and thought the same.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 21/01/2019 07:13

People who would bully girls like me relentlessly at school for enjoying reading comic books over sweet valley high who now love being "such a nerd" just because they watched avengers infinity war.
Salons that don't routinely offer patch tests and constantly post "same day colour and cut" adverts all over Facebook selling pages.

GoofyIsACow · 21/01/2019 08:09

Eurgh, yes to ‘playdate’ my youngest is 8 and was invited for one last week ffs, (his mother to me) i had to really try hard to not say ‘a fucking what?’

Shockers · 21/01/2019 08:14

I believe this speaks for itself...

To have no time for 'nonsense' anymore
Bloomcounty · 21/01/2019 09:22

Well, if that isn't a caption for the narcissistic generation, I don't know what is. Focus on you. Only you! You are the only one that matters! Only you! Etc etc etc....

OutOfDenial · 21/01/2019 09:32

Agree about nepotism, the new celeb nepotism as opposed to the old blue blood version - isn't Martin Kemp's son all over ITV now, Dani D won Love Island - shock, Bradley Walsh is getting in on the act with his son who has a totally different accent from him 🤔. There are more ...

Who you're related to overriding natural talent, nothing new.

cheesersqueezer · 21/01/2019 10:14

Starting every sentence with 'So'
Responding to every sentence with "Perfect'
Saying 'my bad'- wtf is that!
Having to listen to actors say how marvellous their job is
Having to listen to authors say how hard their job is
Politicians saying that nurses need to use food banks. What about hospital cleaners and porters who earn half of what nurses do?

DemonicEruption · 21/01/2019 10:31

Newsreaders hyping and stirring shit up all the time. Talking in certain tones about certain things to let you know how to feel about it.

Similarly with Newsbeat on BBC radio 1. The newsreaders dont speak properly and use slang and try to act like your mate down the pub. All very nudge nudge and suggesting opinions again. Also trying to be funny and using stupid sound effects for every little thing. Grow up and just tell us the facts!

I also have no time for crybabies and people who cant just crack on and be thankful for what they have.

The term 'mansplaining'. There are plenty of women who do the same thing.

'Feminists' who are dead against misogyny (fine) but then turn out to be the biggest misandrists going. Hypocrites.

People who say its not possible to be racist against white people. Ok then.

That snarky raised eyebrow emoji that many people use on here.

And also agree with mums and their kids taking up whole pathways, and mums who crowd around chatting to the damn lollipop lady not paying attention to their kids when I'm trying to walk past and they're running into me D:

Glotalstopple · 21/01/2019 11:00

Oh yes to hyperbolic news reporting! Ridiculous!
