People expecting me to travel thousands of miles to attend their destination wedding.

People putting their name on waiting lists for designer handbags that cost thousands of pounds.

Pamper parties for 9 year olds.

Any other grumpy old ladies like to list the modern day nonsense they can live without?

What is wrong with apples?

thecatsthecats · 15/01/2019 13:41

People starting threads to ask internet strangers questions instead of contacting the literal company who can answer.

In fact, people who ask internet strangers questions about marital finances/childcare choices/etc instead of talking to the person they married (BEFORE the problems came up).

Can't be arsed advising some fuckwit who got married to someone they didn't really know then procreated with them. Whatever you tell them they'll fuck up some other way later.

CoperCabana · 15/01/2019 13:41

I have got to page 3 and it is adding to my rage so had to have a rest.

But this is totally me. In the last few weeks, I have snoozed or blocked loads of FB friends, unliked pages and hidden ads. All due to ‘the rage’

Dawdlers are the absolute worst, followed by school run idiots.

IrmaFayLear · 15/01/2019 13:42

Oh, yes, Compensayshun. Everyone pretending to get norovirus on holiday so they can get their money back. Frankly, what is bloody norovirus? It was a stomach bug in my day.

Actually [whispers] MeToo. A bottom pinch 30 years ago is surely not such a traumatic experience that you have been reliving it every hour of every day since? It really devalues the experiences of those women who have suffered a serious assault or threat. I've even seen people MeToo-ing about being asked out . Funny that it's only traumatic when they don't fancy the bloke.

appless · 15/01/2019 13:43

What is wrong with apples?

I want to know the same thing

Willow2017 · 15/01/2019 13:44

All of the above and more😀

Workmates spending every spare minute on thier phones ignoring the actual people they work with unless its to show some idiotic selfie/video/ pet photo/ cute baby video. Argh have a bloody conversation and stop taking selfies you are at work not on a beach in the Caribbean! And no, sticking your tonue out/wide open mouth photos arent cute its gross.

Workmates who make a huge deal out of looking 'busy' when boss is around but are offloading all the hard work on others.

Random people on lighthearted threads telling adults they cant be annoyed at anything.😀

Yes yes to tv shows that have to 'recap' after each advert. I can remember what happened 3 minutes ago ffs. Half the programmes could either get more content in or be half as long without all the repition.

IveGotAlpen · 15/01/2019 13:44

Literally everything that everyone has said on this thread plus anti vaxxers

Greenlightredlight · 15/01/2019 13:46

Oh yes, the Metoo bandwagon. It was started to highlight a genuinely serious issue, but as usual the drama queens have jumped on board with their ridiculous stories of how somebody put a hand on their shoulder in 1995 and how victimised they feel.

Shockers · 15/01/2019 13:48

Apples are crunchy.

The noisy, crisp, pippy bastards.

proseccoaficionado · 15/01/2019 13:49

ALL OF THE ABOVE and more:
-bloody whatsapp groups
-people saying that lifting weights makes women big (actually food makes you big)
-entitled people who think EVERYTHING revolves around them and their needs

Breakawaygirl · 15/01/2019 13:50

I'm going to add a few more:

  • Adverts. I swear they are getting longer and louder.
  • The ever-increasing fakeness of appearance. Even beautiful young women are transforming themselves into something that looks more like a drag queen. No young woman needs to wear that much foundation or fake hair, it's just not necessary at all.
  • Shifting of power from parents/educators etc to children/teenagers.
  • Bad manners.
  • Overcrowding - everywhere from the roads to the supermarkets just feel crowded all the time unless you leave very early in the morning or late at night.
  • People who take ages to reply to a message (people you're close to, not just casual friends)
  • People sitting around watching TV all the time
  • Forced fun
  • One upmanship
  • Lack of mystery in sex - now it's all in your face due to the pornification of culture/fashion etc
  • Celebrities. Let's focus on REAL heroes and inspirational people rather than those who act or sing for a living.
Bloomcounty · 15/01/2019 13:51

Wanky football players in their wanky oversized Range Rovers and Mercs who park inconsiderately to go to a neighbour for their sports physio treatments, making it fucking hard for me to get in and out of my own fucking street. I only drive a polo and I have to squeeeeeeze my way through some days and today was one of the worst as I just missed scratching my car. Bastard wankers. I hope your treatments fucking HURT.

Quipsandquotes · 15/01/2019 13:51

Everything being ruined by bandwagoners who just can't keep themselves out of anything and accept that sometimes they just have to be life's onlookers.

They have every MH condition and allergygoing, their children all have SNs of some kind or another, they were bullied at school, suffered discrimination at work and have now decided that the time a guy pestered them to dance at a disco in 1981 qualifies them to become one of the metoo victims.

proseccoaficionado · 15/01/2019 13:52

Another vote for anxiety (as a pp said of course it's a MH issue but some people use it to get away from stuff- even working🙈)
And another vote for allergies. I have a friend, 10 years ago she didn't even know what gluten was and now she's allergic to it. Nope. She's not.

Mylovelies · 15/01/2019 13:54

People being interviewed on telly or radio, particularly radio, starting every sentence with "So...." Usually paired with strong rising inflexion towards the end of the sentence implying it's a question when it isn't and shouldn't be.
Also, "Furbabies", and obviously, any form of motivational meme.

Ithinkthatsenough · 15/01/2019 13:56

Anyone who says “favourite human” and “growing a tiny human” bleugh
snap chat filter selfies... we all know what you look like really..
Mundane kid pics on fb and random public declarations of love for said kids on fb... “ here is little darling at the supermarket, love her soooo much”
We all love our kids, but most dont need to say it on fb...

Bluetrews25 · 15/01/2019 13:58

'Yourself' and 'myself'
Girls with inch thick foundation, sharpie brows, fake lashes, inflated tits and lips, everything on their face looking sticky, walking around with the oversized handbag in the crook of the elbow on one arm and the horizontal phone in front of them (with their stuck-on superthick talons), because if they held it to their ear the world would not be able to hear the other half of the conversation (tragedy) or it would stick to hairspray, lipgloss, or sink into foundation or skin fillers and never be found again.
Loose women - they all look 'sticky' too.
Adults who cannot pronounce 'th' properly and say 'vuh' or 'fuh' instead. Come on, you are nearly 40, learn to move your tongue.
A certain v popular female singer whose voice vibrates like she is sitting on a washing machine on spin.
Other singers who give us 'dey' for they etc.
DCs who walk along wherever and do not move out of the way for adults, like we had to, then give you evils just because you don't want to step under a car to let them walk in a broad line with Mummy and cronies.
Oh crap, I could go on.....

Picnicinnovember · 15/01/2019 13:58

People who just want to be 'famous'. Not a famous singer, actress, writer, tennis player or whatever. But just 'famous'.

Girls who describe themselves as 'models' because they once had their photograph in The Sun.

Bascially vacuous, shallow people prepared to sell their soul for a 'glamorous' lifestyle.

FaceLikeAPairOfTits · 15/01/2019 14:01

Misanthropes assemble! Grin

I'd like to add:
Mary Anne Hobbs
People who are "devastated" over everyday shite
Litter dropping
4 x 4s unless in the actual countryside
Misuse of "literally"
Social media of all stripes
People who start sentences with, "Look", when they're not actually asking you to regard something with your eyes
My cat
The linguistic affection of "speaking to" something when people mean "referencing" or "referring to"
People slurping from massive thermos coffee cups constantly like big fucking babies

Daysofpearlyspencer · 15/01/2019 14:01

Anyone appearing on Eat Well for Less that need to be taught how to cook a decent meal for their kids.

Seconding a comment up thread, people who spend on utter needless shite then whinge they can't afford a pension/house

ScienceIsTruth · 15/01/2019 14:04

My biggest bugbear:

People conflating gender with sex.

You reveal the sex of your baby, not the fucking gender!

Also, any form where it says gender: m/f, instead of sex: m/f. It really pisses me off, and unless it's online, I make a point of fixing it and telling them why.

mouthkisses · 15/01/2019 14:04

People who start sentences with 'So,'.

1wokeuplikethis · 15/01/2019 14:05

People who talk AT YOU not to you.

Other drivers. All of them.

Selfies/posturing/bragging what’s wrong with modesty? It’s so cringy.

Poor me people who zap all your energy, want to be pitied and do not under any circumstances want any advice because they’ve already tried absolutely anything you can suggest.

Leaflets and crap through my letterbox.

Bins only being collected fortnightly.

Being scared to say anything wrong in public spaces in case of offending a delicate little soul.

Picnicinnovember · 15/01/2019 14:08

Oh and I agree with the people who have to bring a big banquet into the cinema with them and spend the entire time noisily stuffing their faces.

Breakawaygirl · 15/01/2019 14:11

People who have a one way monologue at you for about 30 minutes, without realising you have no interest whatsoever...

People who criticise others for trying to be healthier (I'm very sporty and also vegan, I don't mention it unless it's a conversation on the subject or throw it in anyone's face, but I get constant criticism for drinking my 'pond water' aka green smoothies.)
