This should be good 🍿

Houseonahill · 13/01/2019 17:36

IAmRubbishAtDIY · 13/01/2019 17:37

Houseonahill · 13/01/2019 17:37

Haha I actually read the thread title as unhygenic I'll be off now to make my shit jokes elsewhere Grin

With the toothbrushes of your enemies. Grin

RebelWitchFace · 13/01/2019 17:44

Shitty smells, peeing spells
Brush it all the way
Oh what fun it is to brush
And add a bleachy spray
Hey!

AnotherPidgey · 13/01/2019 17:45

Bleach plus toilet brush. The nasties are killed in the toilet and on the toilet brush. How else can you remove limescale and marks hygienically? Confused

Almostalive · 13/01/2019 17:48

Get someone else to do it obvs 😂

Soconfusedbylife · 13/01/2019 17:51

I’ve been pondering this too. The toilet duck replaceable thingy looks good but wasteful. I’m trying to reduce plastic waste.

Currently I use toilet duck liquid (but looking for a plastic free alternative) and a proper toilet brush. Also an old toothbrush if needed before binning it.

BentNeckLady · 13/01/2019 17:54

I just scrub mine with a brush and some loo cleaner and wipe the seat, rim etc with a wipe and then I get in the shower.

I don’t know how people manage without toilet brushes tbh.

MrsJayy · 13/01/2019 17:55

With your bare hands make sure you get right under that rim like a proper mumsnetter Grin or you can get stuck in with a bleachy toilet brush like a normal person.

Fartingisfun · 13/01/2019 18:03

How anyone manages without a brush and gallons of bleach is beyond me.

The skids my lot leave need serious elbow grease and a squirt of toilet duck isn't going to touch the way they murder the facilities.

I live with pigs and they have to scrub....

lynnepot · 13/01/2019 19:14

The way I look at it, put bleach down and leave it to soak for ten minutes. Then come back brush and flush. My theory is all the germs will have been killed by the time the brush gets to work so the brush should always be clean.

fadingfast · 13/01/2019 21:47

Toilet cleaner plus brush is the only way in my opinion, particularly if you live in a hard water area (as we do). Using only bleach/toilet duck type cleaner is like cleaning your teeth with mouthwash instead of a tooth brush.

TwelveThirtyTwo · 13/01/2019 21:51

Squirt of bleach after every no 2, no brush needed.
My loos are sparkling.
Toilet brushes are minging.

TwelveThirtyTwo · 13/01/2019 21:52

But I live in a soft water area so maybe that helps.

LaurieMarlow · 13/01/2019 22:00

I will never, ever understand the MN horror of loo brushes.

They are practical and sensible. They are remarkably easy to clean. Quite why anyone would prefer to slosh bleach around at every given opportunity and/or shove their hand down the bowl is beyond me.

But

OftenHangry · 13/01/2019 22:06

Bleach and toilet brush.
Leave the toilet brush underneath the seat to dry. No yucky water in a pot. (I think it was Little Homebird who had it on insta once. So simple yet so genious)
Because even if brush is clean, standing water goes yuck.

Smash it to smithereens with a sledge hammer after every use and replace with a new one. Job done.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 13/01/2019 22:11

Flamethrower

User758172 · 13/01/2019 22:14

The toilet in that photo may be clean but the tile grout needs a scrub! Grin

RickOShay · 13/01/2019 22:15

Kalinka Grin

thebabessavedme · 13/01/2019 22:16
