Re vape noise?

It's driving me mad. DH vapes but it ( or him) makes such a horrible noise. I can't really describe it something like a slurping noise or sucking a thick milkshake up through a straw type noise. Is this normal. I am on the verge of smashing the bloody thing.

Its from the battery/coil . My vape does the same but its not for a long while the noise

Poor sod . Obviously trying to give up and you take angrily to the sound of it and want to smash it up !

My other half vapes. Gives me the bloody rage that noise (and the smell). He’s been “giving up” using this now for four bastard years. For many I think it’s a permanent fixture for life rather than an aid to stop smoking sadly.

He's not a poor sod at all. He has been vaping instead of smoking for 2 years now and has no intention of stopping. And he always smoked out doors whereas he vapes indoors.

My husband is the same, vaping for about four years now, I doubt he will ever give it up. He also vapes inside. The noise and the smell gives me the rage, there are times when I could happily throw it and him out the sorting window!
(I am an ex smoker so I have been through the whole giving up process)

Mine too.

But every time I hear it I am reminded that he made a huge effort to stop smoking and is reducing the nicotine content of his fluids.

He has made a huge difference to his health, his wallet, his smell and a whole host of other very positive things.

I couldn't moan about it..
until he does it at the end of a thriller and drowns out an important clue!

I vape. DH says it sounds like Darth Vader! I ignore him. It doesn't smell though.

It's the fucking crackling that gets me. I'd love to ram DH's right up his arse.

My partner vapes too but I'd rather the noise than the constant tight chest I used to get when he was smoking.

Not the point of the thread I know but is vaping looked upon the same as smoking in public places?
Meaning are you allowed to vape anywhere unless there's a sign specifically forbidding you?
I only ask because somebody vapes in my hairdressers and I find the fruity smell very unpleasant.

I quite like the sound of vaping, but suspect that is because the current Mr Floozie is hugely into his vaping, and i am still besotted with him, and everything he does.

I don't mind it in person. But my df and I ate in a long distance relationship at the moment and he vapes.

Try listening to it over the phone when it's amplified. Iv had to ask him to stop and not do it on the phone, it hurts my ears.

Not so much the noise of it but the humugous clouds of vape breath that engulfs me when I'm walking in town behind one of those industrial sized vape machines that mainly blokes seem to use. Like a bloody dry ice machine. Gives me the rage too

I have been vaping for 4 years and have no desire to ever give it up. Mine can be noisy at times. So is my husband's. The noise doesn't bother me at all and I hate most noises.

I can see why it would annoy other people though.

I'm trying to get my husband to start vaping. He's smoked for a lifetime and I worry about him (and he coughs constantly), but I'm told that as an ex smoker I'm not allowed to nag. 😅

Meh, DH and I both Vape. In the house, in the car, basically wherever we want.

We don't produce huge puffs of steam - neither of us are cloud chasers. He vapes an apple liquid, I can occasionally smell it but not often. I vape menthol and no-one has ever smelt it/commented.

I've never noticed any particular noise, but then I suppose even if I did it wouldn't bother me. The only time I get pissed off is when DH smokes as well as vaping (holidays and when he's on the piss), he stinks so bad.

I'm proud of myself for giving up a 30 year habit, and proud of DH for the same. I'd never complain, even if I stopped vaping myself.

Do you object to boiling the kettle inside as well? It's no more disgusting than that.

It's not pure water, so yes it is more disgusting than boiling a kettle (how much more is personal preference) and possibly hazardous to health.

I don't like the liquids hanging around, it makes me nervous that they are corrosive and poisonous if ingested, when they leak the stains are really greasy and they smell, and I worry about DS2 getting into them when he is older. The menthol scent is much better than cigarettes, yes, but it has this odd cloying sweetness to it too.

Defo happier with vaping than smoking, and I don't think it's likely to be as harmful as smoke but you cannot claim it is harmless when we don't actually know. DH does it outside since DS2 was born and I'm glad about that.
