I think these threads are getting a tad too personal now seen a few recently, smacks of bullying tbh.

Her decor is her own business/choice, really couldn't care less about it but the amount of toxic chemicals she whips out daily to clean something that's already clean is madness, and spraying it all over the sofas etc as well to breathe in 24/7 Confused. I watched once or twice to see what on earth it was all about and was not entertained. Endless corrosive and poisonous liquids sprayed on everything and what a load of crap to be pouring down the sink with no care for the environment.

I assume most of it is to make money, what else can she do but keep recleaning the same bits of her house and making a fuss of products she is paid to promote but if that's what people want and what makes her a good living so be it, it's a bit of a one trick gig in that regard.

I got some zoflora and it made my eyes water and promptly have an asthma attack. I've only had one previously years ago when I had a chest infection.

I think I must be in the minority here that enjoys following her...

Her decor isn't to my taste and I don't really understand the stockpiling of cleaning products but her stories are fun and she's introduced me to some genuinely great products. I've always been a bit of a housework hater and now it's just part of my routine and I actively enjoy it, it feels kind of fun and a bit daft to discuss cleaning cloths with my pals but I'd rather be having a laugh about cleaning than hating it.

As for the chemicals I think people can go overboard but zoflora particularly, it's only dangerous if used by idiots. When diluted and used properly it's no different than a regular detail spray it just smells nicer.

loolooskip · 14/01/2019 02:11

@grimupnorth1 I used it exactly per the instructions. I'm not an 'idiot' thank you. Hmm

@loolooskip definitely didn't mean in relation to reactions from it! I've had a similar reaction to cillit bang before and now won't touch the stuff.
I meant more the people putting concentrated bowls of it in their microwaves and plug in air fresheners 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

tryinganewname · 14/01/2019 02:19

She's not exactly drinking the stuff.
Leave her be, if you don't like her - just don't follow.

Ok putting it in an air freshener may possibly suggest someone is a bit fat. Grin

Yes! I thought the same about the chemicals, it's shocking. I hope we'll look back in 10 years and wonder wtf we were spraying around our homes to breathe in / putting into the waterways because some big company told us to.

Her house is gorgeous I’m very envious, I know it’s not to everyone’s taste but I love the grey everything look!
Cleaning is just boring though. Let alone watching someone else clean their house!

I don’t like the fact that she seems to be encouraging people to deal with their anxiety by cleaning. In my experience, using cleaning as a tool to deal with anxiety has lead to me developing OCD, and more recently I’ve been referred to see if I have COPD- I’ve never smoked and am only 28 years old. I’m starting to think it really has done me quite a bit of damage. Evidently cleaning products in this magnitude is not good for us, and frankly it makes me sick every single time I read someone saying how much she has helped them, because they had depression or anxiety and they’ve found a new way to deal with it through cleaning, the woman is cleaning already gleaming surfaces. It’s like going to sharps and cleaning one of their demo kitchens.

About anxiety, it sounds daft but it really does seem to help mine a bit.
I'm never motivated to clean, find it hard to get enthused about it and just do what I have to. So never realised before discovering her that actually, cleaning she's help. It's somewhere to channel it for me, excess energy/ racing thoughts. Calmed by it, kind of mindfulness like when I do colouring. Same thing of focusing. Just because it doesn't work for some, doesn't mean it doesn't for others .
Oh, and one thing I'm definitely not worried about is developing an OCD cleaning habit lol, can't get that mad for it! Grin

Her house is lovely, her dog is adorable, and she seems nice and geniune. But she does use a lot of different products/chemicals. I love cleaning at home as it helps with my anxiety, I geniuenly enjoy it and used to have a quick clean with cleaning sprays everyday, but I've stopped using a lot of products since I read about how bad cleaning products can be for your lungs, almost as bad as smoking 20 a day!

I miss using Mr Sheen! But using a damp microfibre cloth works just as well, just less satisfying!

A bit torn with Mrs Hinch. She's definitely motivated me to try and clean my tip more often and more thoroughly, I've learnt tips from her and she seems like a total sweet hearted person.
My worry is the amount of unnecessary harmful chemicals used and also this weird feeling that we are reverting to the stereotypical good little housewives of the past. Admittedly I haven't searched to see whether there is a male equivalent but it does feel like it may be taking is a step or two back if we all start conforming to the old happy housewife ideal ?!

I find her fame seriously bizarre, most of the time she's cleaning stuff that is already clean! Heaps far to much cleaning products down her sinks.
Also just the encouragement to buy so much crap that they don't need, I've seen people posting their collection of zoflora on the hinch hashtag, no one needs 30 zofloras.

Yous can all come here and slag off her home, her personality, her coping mechanisms, what she cleans with, whatever you want but at the end of each and every day you can all lay your heads down on your pillow and remember - she is far more successful than all of you. She has everything she could want, a loving husband, a beautiful home, a lovely dog, her family and friends who love her. Shes written a book, had her dream wedding and dream honeymoon. She has a little baby on the way. And every single day while you all spend your time slagging her off on here, she is happy, content and proud of how far shes come. She has the life most of you dream of (even though your ego wont allow you to admitt it). Jealousy is a horrible thing, and it brings out the worst in people, especially women with a keyboard.

Just some food for thought, maybe instead of putting other people down to make yourselves feel better, you could try being kinder instead, and keep your bitter opinions to yourselves. X

@dontbebitterhun I take it you came from Facebook since the sun posted some of this thread and the people in the Facebook group got their knickers in a twist?

You’re making an awful lot of assumptions there, personally I think there’s more to life than repeatedly wiping down clean surfaces multiple times a day... but that’s just me.
Everyone’s entitled to an opinion, doesn’t mean they’re jealous.

@dontbebitterhun yep that's all fine and well but what has she actually done? She's not invented something new here. I'm sure she's a lovely lady whose happy with her life choices, but she's not displaying talents or creative ability. She hasn't developed a new cleaning technique nor invented a new product. The book isn't even due to be released until April so no-one can actually review the content yet. Fair play to her she's making a fortune on the back of actual brand names, but she didn't create them.

@Kayrenice plenty of people have died from over intoxication and inhalation of cleaning products, it can also lead to chemical pneumonitis and acute insulation injuries.
This woman is influencing tens of thousands of women, some of which may be pregnant and at greater risk, to mix different chemicals and spread potentially harmful products around the place willy nilly.
