AIBU to find it difficult to get sexy with the cat in the room

NC for this because MIL lurks and I could probably be outed by previous threads.

But AIBU to find it difficult to get sexy with the cat in the room? Or does no one else have the slightest problem with this?

If he's in the room in his box or on the chair I have to kick him out before succumbing to DPs advances. Otherwise I just can't get into it if I think the cat might be watching. It freaks me out!

Many moons ago when DH and I were secy young things, we were getting busy when a thought occured to me, "how can DH be doing that AND licking my toes? Lordy, I must marry him!" Turned out it was Mil's miniature poodle Confused

Animals are banned from the shagging room.

YANBU
One night our darling cat decided to have a good clean and was very noisy in doing so, it really ending up killing the moment as I was laughing too much.
So now they are always out!

showmeshoyu · 12/01/2019 22:01

My (new) DP and I were at it recently and they kind of shrieked as suddenly there was a cat nose on theirs as one of them wanted to have a kitty kiss. Cue much amusement.

Talula1993 · 12/01/2019 22:03

I dont have a cat now, and never was in a situation where my cat was in the room during. But if I still had that particular cat, it wouldn't be that I couldnt have him watching but he could not physically be in the same room as someone without wanting to be picked up or petted. So think I would have ended up getting the head butts and boops so would need to get him out the room as that would be too off putting.

RIP

It's the way they watch you too. It makes me self conscious. Not that I think my cat is a pervert, it's just too weird knowing he's watching and I end up wondering what he's thinking which puts me off.

He's never tried to join in like some of your cats though! Do you reckon they just think there's a nice cuddle going on and they feel left out?

My cat has jumped upon my boyfriend’s back before when we were getting busy Grin

AwkwardPaws27 · 12/01/2019 22:09

Oh no. We can't even have a cuddle without her squeezing in between us. We have to shut her downstairs or she sits outside the room meowing, it sort of ruins the moment.
She's a terribly spoilt substitute child with fur though, we've only ourselves to blame.

GottenGottenGotten · 12/01/2019 22:09

I read it wrong.

I was wondering why you would be thinking about getting sexy with the cat Blush

Sallygoroundthemoon · 12/01/2019 22:11

I find it very off putting so shut her out. I lose all desire looking into her dark fathomless eyes. She seems to be silently judging us.

ChesterGreySideboard · 12/01/2019 22:13

My girl once came in and started biting DH’s ankles!!

DareDevil223 · 12/01/2019 22:15

I always shut Dcat out of the bedroom at these times as having a cat staring at you can be very disconcerting, also I don't want to traumatise the poor animal Grin

I do have a portrait of DCat on the bedroom wall (don't judge me, I bloody love that cat, he saved my mental health and possibly life when I was at a low point many years ago)and DP has remarked that DCat looks quite judgemental in it...

BigChocFrenzy · 12/01/2019 22:16

Your cat is thinking how disgusting humans are when they copulate
Hardly any fur and they shake the bed like idiots when a cat is trying to sleep

You should be more respectful of your feline master and bring them a midnight feast instead

DareDevil223 · 12/01/2019 22:16

Also Dcat always sits or lies between DP and I given the chance. we call him 'The Furry Chaperone' Smile

MitziK · 12/01/2019 22:17

@espressobutler I asked friends to cat sit once, and they’d let him sleep on their bed. Apparently he’d had a great time batting at my friend’s DH’s balls mid deed. He’s never slept in a bedroom since

Has your friend's DH thought about seeking professional help for his ball and bedroom related PTSD?

I am deliberately misreading this for entertainment. I hope

sirmione16 · 12/01/2019 22:19

Our cat politely leaves the room, but as soon as we've settled down will come back in meowing as if she's giving us feedback or something Hmm

Laughing out loud at this !
A few years ago my friend had a hamster in her bedroom and he was out and about at night.
Her boyfriend had to put the hamsters cage outside their bedroom because he felt self conscious getting undressed with it staring at him.Grin

Craftycorvid · 12/01/2019 22:31

Friend of mine had a girlfriend whose cat used to lie in wait and lunge at his balls if he dared get up to go to the barhroom at night. The cat was apoarently quite evil abd knew exactly what it was about! Used to lurk on top of the watdrobe (the cat, not the friend). Grin

Ibizama · 12/01/2019 22:36

Loving this thread. My cat has no boundarys

Toddlerteaplease · 12/01/2019 22:48

Neither have mine!

burritofan · 12/01/2019 22:51

My cat loves sitting on the end of the bed (not facing us) while we're at it. She starts purring contentedly, louder than a chainsaw; as soon as we get going she'll come into the room. It's sort of sweet but also massively creepy...

SaucyJack · 12/01/2019 23:06

Yeah, YANBU.

I don’t care if she’s just asleep in the room. I don’t even particularly care if she watches quietly.

But trying to join in with the petting and nuzzling? That’s going Too Far Tabitha.

NorthernLurker · 12/01/2019 23:23

Our cat is always exiled from the bedroom when we are in bed. She tries to sit on our heads at the best of times. I can only imagine what would occur......

Ratonastick · 12/01/2019 23:48

My cat......watches. She just sits there and watches. And judges, i’m sure she judges.

I love my cat.

MrsFionaCharming · 12/01/2019 23:53

I was staying at an ex-girlfriend’s parents’ house, we thought we had the house to ourselves one morning. I’m in the middle of going down on her, when I feel something on my back. My first thought was that her mum had walked in on us, and I spun around in a panic... and launched her car across the room.
