to just not "get" Luther?

Everybody raves about it and it never really caught my fancy. Last night H and I thought - well there must be something good about it, so put on 1st episode....

I just dont "get" it? It felt like Silent Witness for 21stC.... Anyone else feel like this? I think my fundamental problem is that I dont like Luther......

That first ever episode I mentioned featured two people (I think one was Luther but I could be remembering wrong) swinging from ropes having a sword fight.

It is shit...Alice is ridiculous and the episode where Zoe was poor. The acting is dry and the storylines pathetic

Finally watched the last episode last night.

I usually love Ruth Wilson, but she was like a pantomime villain with her over affected voices.

Utterly ridiculous from beginning to end.

Disappointed.

Endeavour is the best detective series; clever scripts, excellent period details, and two brilliant leading actors, Luther has none of those imo!

Didn’t mind series 1 &2.
3 was awful, really bad. I don’t like how DS Ripley was killed off as I preferred his character over Luther

Hated the whole George Cornelius, just added a layer of crap that was not needed. By the end of season 4 I hated them all and wanted them all dead.

I loved Big Dris in The Wire, I was very disappointed with the pile of drivel that is Luther, it is utter rubbish and can't watch it despite him being gorgeous!

So glad I saw this thread! I somehow missed Luther when S1 started and never bothered to catch up, although I like crime, thriller police dramas.

I always wondered if it really lived up to the hype, I don't find Luther madly attractive although he has a lovely voice (the "haitch" on his Sky adverts annoys me though) 😂

Loved Killing Eve, but I do wonder why Sandra Oh got all the nominations and Jodie Comer very few in comparison? Really hope S2 doesn't disappoint.

I wasn't keen on the latest series but loved all the others. The one where the man was hiding under the bed scared the shit out of me. For weeks after I had to look under our bed even though it is too low for anyone to get under it!

Idris is so good looking and sexy and his voice!!! I also think he is a good actor.

Luther is better than Killing Eve although I thought that was ok. Line of Duty is, I think, probably the best police drama
