Stolen Bin thread

ichifanny · 10/01/2019 10:22

I have one of the larger council issued bins as I have 4 children , my neighbour also does though their bin is far older as they have grown up children .
I clean mine after each collection with bleach etc so it’s still fairly new looking .
I realised last week we have a stinking mouldy one instead now so been watching on bin collection day and realised my neighbour has swapped them over .
Now this could be a mistake I highly doubt they haven’t noticed theirs is now cleaner and bigger , so today is the day I’m getting it back . The man next door can be strange so I’m relauctant to approach him to ask for it back as I think he won’t back down so I’m just going to do a swap as soon as they are emptied , currently lying in wait .... wish me luck .

Just remember we are all cheering you on OP, don't take no crap Grin

angieloumc · 11/01/2019 09:55

My new neighbours haven't stolen my bin, however they did put a black refuse bag in each of my two recycling bins when they moved in as their general waste bin was full.
I put them on top of their bin; back and forth into mine and on top of they're ensued. I now have bin locks.

Bloominglovely · 11/01/2019 09:56

Yikes! Every bin day he is going to try to get that bin back! We have our house number (in large numbers) painted on our bin in white paint. Can you do the same? And yes to ringing to see who it is tegistered to and ask them to email you confirmation so you can print it off and give it to him.

bumbleymummy · 11/01/2019 09:56

Hurray! Mission accomplished. Can’t wait to hear what he says Grin

ThanosSavedMe · 11/01/2019 09:56

Yay! Go on op. You can do this!

CantWaitToRetire · 11/01/2019 09:57

Assume twatty NDN can't somehow reach over fence or stealthily get over fence while you're out and haul the empty bin back to his side OP?

BovrilOverkillOhMyInsides · 11/01/2019 09:59

I hate it when people do this. But I have OCD which manifests in issues with touching bins, recycling, food waste is the worst which means I have issues with the dishes.

I have been left with the foulest neighbourhood bins before, it's upsetting when you've a condition like this. I used to try hose them out but the whole process made me dry heave. Keep us posted OP! By the way, they often do bin stickers in The Range, and other similar places.

AlwaysWantedToBeATenenbaum · 11/01/2019 10:09

Well done OP - can’t believe the cheeky mare rang your bell!!!! Make sure you speak to him though as he’ll keep trying to Nick it back!!! What a CF

Shimy · 11/01/2019 10:16

He came back from work specifically to intercept the bins??? Hmm mind you, OP practically flung her dc through the school gate 😂😂.

OP, you've got balls!

FlipF · 11/01/2019 10:25

.

ThomasRichard · 11/01/2019 10:29

He came back from work specially and rang your doorbell? He sounds like a complete nutter!

FelicisWolf · 11/01/2019 10:31

This is great, I love a good bin thread!

Wotev · 11/01/2019 10:33

He's obsessed!

Aprilshowerswontbelong · 11/01/2019 10:36

My ds has just moved out, new neighbours had a skip on their drive filled with household rubbish..
Tip truck came and refused to take it so emptied it on the drive.
Neighbour grabbed 8 bins no less from the St on bin day and filled them then left them in the road!!
Ds had managed to have taken his in before this happened!!
Bizarre!!

hamandpease · 11/01/2019 10:41

I have so many CF threads under 'watching' right now. Something odd in the water...

wombatron · 11/01/2019 11:00

Whilst I'm glad you beat CF, I am a little sad it's over so early. I suppose you can come back and let us know if anything else happens though

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 11/01/2019 11:02

As well as labelling your bin to the max, Buy some sticky numbers with HIS house number on them, and stick them to HIS bin next week.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 11/01/2019 11:03

I didn't know about some council numbering individual bin.
I'm off out to examine mine.

HariboLecter · 11/01/2019 11:03

@wombatron I am a little sad it's over so early.

Oooh I've got a feeling this is far from over. CF NDN seems pretty determined from OP's posts.

WitchDancer · 11/01/2019 11:04

That was a close shave! Well done

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 11/01/2019 11:07

If ever I get into a bin war, I will be having one of those myself!

I’m prepared to start a bin war with the sole purpose of justifying getting one...

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 11/01/2019 11:11

I would of course first have to get a wheelie bin

cakewench · 11/01/2019 11:12

oh my god I need bin updates!

Apileofballyhoo · 11/01/2019 11:30

People are very strange! What possible justification could he have for ringing your door?

Lemoneeza · 11/01/2019 11:32

You should get some custom stickers made with "CF" on and stick them on his bin.

In fact, I'm sensing a gap in the market here!
