Stub your toe. Stubbed little toe earlier on the table leg. Of course no shoes or slippers on to cushion the blow. Air very quickly turned blue Blush followed by toe turning a lovely shade of bluey/purple. Nice 9 hour shift later and it is bloody agony.

Sliced my eyeball once. It was infinitely more excruciating than stubbing my toe or giving birth without pain relief.

MedicinalGin · 09/01/2019 14:10

My friend currently has shingles ON HIS ACTUAL EYEBALL 😨

He has been given anti sickness medication for the pain apparently- it was so painful he was being sick and passing out.

Shit times.

Oldraver · 09/01/2019 14:22

Not happened to me but I still cringe at the thought of it

OH in the bedroom stepping on an upturned earring, the post going straight into his foot....I heard a crunch

Juells · 09/01/2019 14:33

terrifying, I had a c section and it feels weird anyway as you can feel the tugging cant you

You can certainly feel the tugging when you're supposedly under GA but you come to, paralysed, unable to indicate that you're wide awake and can feel everything :( I also got an apology from the anaesthetist the next day - an apology that was a bit ruined by the fact that his eyes never moved from my boulder-like breasts while he was apologising. I felt like asking him if he'd ever seen breasts before Angry

My friend currently has shingles ON HIS ACTUAL EYEBALL

I've heard about that before, it's apparently quite common 😮😮😮

mimibunz · 09/01/2019 14:38

Banging my elbow/funny bone. I’ve come close to passing out from that pain.

CokeAndCrispsAndDip · 09/01/2019 14:44

Standing on hair straighteners, that were on, where the heat plate hit the soft middle of the sole of my foot. Worse. Than. Labour.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 09/01/2019 17:14

I would like to nominate my ear.
I've had a truly horrible bug. Bad chest, fever for days, still full of mucus. Just started feeling better then I get woken up at 1am feeling like I've been stabbed in the ear. Couldn't even touch my outer ear it was so painful.
It's eased off now, I'm just 3/4 deaf on one side.

Also, kneeling on a plastic star Wars character.
Kneeling on a pin.

Getting the sticky strip of a sanitary towel stuck to a pubic hair! please tell me it's not just me.

dayswithaY · 09/01/2019 17:23

Episiotomy - before the anaesthetic had taken hold. Doctor went white, I couldn't even make a sound, I can still remember the pain now. Time was of the essence so they didn't wait to check the area was numbed - it wasn't and I felt the cut. But stubbing your toe and biting your tongue hurts like a bitch too.

RosemarysBush · 09/01/2019 17:26

Oh no, I got half way through page one and couldn’t read anymore. People at work keep giving me funny looks as I wince and gasp.

userschmoozer · 09/01/2019 17:28

Its the worst thread but I cant stop reading.

Conseulabananahammock · 09/01/2019 17:30

Going to put a new bulb in, not realising light is switched on and accidentally putting your finger inside the fitting... nasty shock

VictoriaBun · 09/01/2019 17:32

Poor hedgehog 😉

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/01/2019 17:36

Getting the zip pull of your trousers caught in your belly button. In my defence, I was 4.

giantnannyknickers · 09/01/2019 17:39

I give you stubbed toe and raise you opening a fold out pram and accidentally getting your hand trapped where the pram clicks into place when upright. Sheer and utter agony. Could not get said hand out as it's bloody impossible to collapse a pram one handed.

(To the wanker in the car who watched it unfold, thanks for not helping ya prick)

My husband had an infected saliva gland - apparently one of the most painful things to have. He had to have a scan to see if he had a stone in there.

I was incredibly dismissive and then felt very bad when the doctor advised how painful it really is...

arranbubonicplague · 09/01/2019 17:48

My husband had an infected saliva gland

Did he have sinusitis? The lumpy glands so large you can't swallow without feeling like you're being kicked plus the aching teeth can be a feature...

Justanothernamechange2 · 09/01/2019 17:52

Casually walking into your dads workshop to chat, a steel hoop falling on the floor so you pick it up to be helpful, not realising he had just been welding it. Still got nerve damage in my fingertips a couple of decades later!

youwouldthink · 09/01/2019 18:01

Running the iron along your overdue pregnant stomach when you're ironing everything around you! Took weeks to heal. My Gynae Doc said its very common!

kitnkaboodle · 09/01/2019 18:04

Having a full tin of beans/soup, whatever, fall from the top shelf of a larder onto my bare big toe. Thought I was going to pass out, then the fun wait for the nail to turn black and fall off. Worse than labour, where at least you have a build-up of adrenaline to help you through.

Walnutwhipster · 09/01/2019 18:05

Perforated bowel...twice! With the accompanying major operations, life support and long periods in ICU. They aren't my fondest memories.

Ironingboard · 09/01/2019 18:13

Snapped the tendon in my thumb and they had to cur further up my arm to retrieve it. Was like a hot electric drill in my thumb until surgery.

greenelephantscarf · 09/01/2019 18:16

shin - bedpost

CanIGoToBedNow · 09/01/2019 18:27

arranbubonicplague it was one the glands under the tongue - never even knew that could get infected!
