And shit... this just sums it up Grin if the picture has attached.

I’m only 29 so not exactly old... or maybe I am Hmm

My brows are over plucked more than anything, so not perfect... but why do girls have to over do it on the brow palette

Mine are micropigmentation. Very subtle, I do a lot of close up portrait and beauty shots so they have to be good!

Have a watch of the eyebrow guy!
reallyanotherone · 08/01/2019 09:40

It’s the focus on eyebrows i find weird.

Someone posts a selfie and many of the comments talk about the eyebrows. Wtf?

What happened to you look lovely or other general complement? It’s all eyebrows on fleek or whatever the younguns are saying.

If someone said to me they liked my eyebrows i’d assume i looked so fucking awful that was the only nice thing they could find to say.

I just wish people would leave their brows alone. Most people look best natural- overplucking or drawing them on with a sharpie just seems plain strange to me.

icannotremember · 08/01/2019 09:41

I think they look astonishingly daft but to be fair some of the things that were in in my youth no doubt looked astonishingly daft to adults then. I do hope massive hairsprayed flicks come back in.

VioletCharlotte · 08/01/2019 09:49

It's just fashion isn't it? No worse, IMO, than the over plucked eyebrows from my youth!

mydogisthebest · 08/01/2019 09:52

I have quite light eyebrows and have never done anything to them. Never plucked, used pencil nothing.

I don't get the big dark slug eyebrows at all. I think they look awful and just distract from someone's face. No matter how attractive the person is the eyebrows just ruin it.

I can understand that youngsters do it to follow fashion but one of my friends who is the same age as me (60's) has just had hers microbladed and they look ridiculous. She has blonde hair and now 2 big black hairy eyebrows. Her eyebrows were fine before

BigusBumus · 08/01/2019 10:16

The girl in the window of our local McDonalds Drive-Thru has such massive drawn on brows, all gungey and thick, in a strange shade of auburn (she is blond) that my kids actually sniggered when they saw her the other day. It was quite a shock! She didn't hear, thankfully, and I told them off. But still, how can she look in the mirror and think they look good!?

EggFrenzy · 08/01/2019 11:09

I blame the Gallagher brothers.

Shopaholiccmum · 08/01/2019 11:46

I think they do this to make other people laugh. It's hillarious to me Grin

IfNotNowBernard · 08/01/2019 11:47

Is that actually you Ollivander? Very nice eyebrows. (Not saying that because I can't think of anything nice to say, obvs!)
Mine are microbladed, very subtly. They were bushy but I over plucked in my teens.
I paid a lot and got someone really good (this is key)and now they just look symmetrical and groomed.

Ollivander84 · 08/01/2019 11:50

@IfNotNowBernard yes it is Smile

CrookedMe · 08/01/2019 12:58

That's great @Haworthia I'm genuinely glad you're happy with them. (My son is very fair and has no eyebrows but I suspect he won't care).

However - you also did just prove my point a bit Grin

Haworthia · 08/01/2019 13:41

I didn’t prove your point, I disagreed with it!

icannotremember · 08/01/2019 13:41

ward off a unibrow or excessively bushy brows... I’d love to see the natural shape of girls’ brows.

Unibrows and bushy brows are natural, why do they need to be warded off?

LordEmsworth · 08/01/2019 19:00

@kikipost The first day, they do look a bit too dark, plus there may be some redness around them from the hair removal. As soon as you wash your face, the darkness/obviousness of them fades a bit - but the first day is definitely not the best day, don't get them done on the morning of your wedding Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/01/2019 20:23

Funnily enough Ukelou - I was just about to comment about Fabulous Audrey, but fortunately read the thread and found you had beaten me to it!

And yet she looked gorgeous - but then, she didn't have an orange face and fat fish lips and an expression that would have soured cream - maybe that's the difference.

Frida Kahlo had quite impressive eyebrows, too (and quite an impressive moustache).

Teateaandmoretea · 10/01/2019 06:37

I have absolutely no idea what most of the terminology of this thread is about. PMSL about why is it now a makeup trend though £££££ for Revlon etc I imagine.

Mine have always been straight, I pluck stray hairs or any that are particularly outrageous. That's all no one has ever commented on them. I couldn't give a shit tbh and haven't noticed that many people with what is described on this thread either. Obviously I know the wrong people or I just don't notice who knows Grin

They are just eyebrows after all.

Snuffalo · 10/01/2019 06:43

The eyebrows guy needs to focus on the road! Jesus fucking Christ driving and doing ‘comedy’ at the same time?

FangTasticBeast · 10/01/2019 06:47

Mine are microbladed as my own are very light and have no tails

planespotting · 10/01/2019 07:42

Well the beauty industry decided it was time to cash in on eyebrows, after making vast amounts of money from skincare, eyes and lips, wonder what they will zone in on next to mess around with.
Eyeballs?

planespotting · 10/01/2019 08:13

Love this thread Grin
I am very fair and looked like a pantomime dame.

they really stood out for a film made in 1959. I actually shouted my dd to come look and even she said they were 'on fleek'
Grin

planespotting · 10/01/2019 08:15

@Haworthia I think good micro blading looks great.
