And shit... this just sums it up Grin if the picture has attached.

I’m only 29 so not exactly old... or maybe I am Hmm

My brows are over plucked more than anything, so not perfect... but why do girls have to over do it on the brow palette

Microblading is the worst!

But when you say that on here you get 20 people saying 'you can only spot the bad ones but mine are brilliant'.

No. No they're not. You tattooed your forehead, love.

Deadringer · 07/01/2019 09:38

Well the beauty industry decided it was time to cash in on eyebrows, after making vast amounts of money from skincare, eyes and lips, wonder what they will zone in on next to mess around with.

ChodeofChodeHall · 07/01/2019 09:58

Deadringer perhaps the next must-have procedure will be a permanent nose highlight.

I do hope the next trend is permanent nose highlights. I’m very much looking forward to a lecture theatre full of shiny noses (rather than giant eyebrows).

Deadringer · 07/01/2019 13:14

Ooooh yes please, I have a huge very shiney nose, I will be right on trend for once!

ClockWatchingLady · 07/01/2019 13:18

As far as trends go (and let's face it, they're all a bit ridiculous when it comes down to it), I like it.

Makes a change from female body hair removal to actually see people painting it on. I'd like it to extend to a trend for tattooing on a heavy monobrow, please. Takers?

Knittedfairies · 07/01/2019 13:37

I'm all for people doing what they want with their eyebrows if it doesn't frighten the horses, but some do look a bit odd to me.

BlooperReel · 07/01/2019 13:55

Hate it, I would be too embarrassed to leave the house with brows like some I have seen.

My mum said pretty much the same thing about boob tubes, hipster jeans, two-tone shiny trousers and all the other trends that came and went when I was a teen.

I must officially be old.

morningconstitutional2017 · 07/01/2019 14:01

The first one looks great and I wish I had brows like that but after over-plucking as a teenager followed by chemo that has pretty much almost finished mine off.

The second looks ridiculous and just shows that you have to know when to stop. I use tattoo brow but put it on much more thinly than in the ad which is also over the top.

I expect the fashion will change again at some point.

User12879923378 · 07/01/2019 14:04

Fashion depends on promoting looks that most people don't have naturally. I had a makeover, supposedly a day look, from a friend that involved about eight coats of foundation and "contouring", fake eyelashes and massive dark grey brows. I am very fair and looked like a pantomime dame.

Who has time for all this nonsense, seriously? I'm not impressed at those before and after videos where someone goes from being pretty and real looking to almost AI model-typical. I'm saddened that we're getting further and further away from appreciating our real faces. And I like putting a bit of makeup on. I just don't want to look like a different person when I do.

RevRichardWayneGaryWayne · 07/01/2019 14:08

If you ask me, this is the future.

It's not just the brows though. It seems the norm now to not even answer the front door without wearing massively heavy fake eyelashes with 20 coats of mascara on.

Gone are the days when they were occasionally worn for a special night or if you were on the stage.

Bonkersblond · 07/01/2019 14:14

Really hoping the ‘Angry bird’ look goes out of fashion before Dd gets any older.

IfNotNowBernard · 07/01/2019 14:23

I am fascinated with the different brow shapes I see. It's just fashion. They are not trying to make them look natural! It's no weirder than painting your eyelids green or your toenails red, is it?
Humans have always adorned and altered themselves.

sunsalutations · 07/01/2019 14:30

I'm not keen on the big eyebrow look, but the lips filler look is worse and totally freaks me out. Why would anyone do that to lips? 😬 maybe it's just me getting old and cantankerous 😂

BlancheM · 07/01/2019 14:31

There have always been eyebrow trends. My mum and her friends used to over pluck theirs into two thin lines.
That second photo is dated now, the trend now is really fluffy natural ones. Nose highlighter was over well over a year ago as well. Contour isn't trendy either. Teens will soon catch on and be on to the next thing: Korean glassy skin

Laiste · 07/01/2019 14:32

In the 80s i walked around with ripped fishnets, cats eyes eyeliner and black lipstick daily as a teen. At weekends i'd have chains round my waist connected to my best mate's chains round her waist and manage to get on packed tube trains like that to go up to the Kings Road. So i'd never snigger at anyone's look. However - at least it was unusual.

What depresses me these days is the drive for every girl to look the bloody same. The Miserable Barbie Doll clones :(

RomanyRoots · 07/01/2019 14:34

My 14 year old dd has just stopped the black eye brows.
She realised how fake they look and now they are natural but shaped nicely.
No amount of telling her made any difference though, she worked it out by herself, and uttered the words we love to hear. "Mum you were right" Grin

MaddieElla · 07/01/2019 14:36

I genuinely don't get highlighter on the nose. It looks so, so shit? Like an actual shiny nose? Done on purpose!

AppleBlossomArseCheeks · 07/01/2019 14:38

I don't the obsession with eyebrows and having them look so cartoon like. I always wonder how we got to this point that eyebrows became almost another eyelid for make ups sakeHmmConfused

greedygorb · 07/01/2019 14:40

Yup they look stupid but young people are allowed to look stupid. We all did it even if we think we didn't. Fashion innit. The lovely young girls in our Superdrug look like pantomime dames.

What is stupider is my colleague who's hitting 50 (as I am before someone shouts ageism) who decided to get her eyebrows 'done'. They were quite fair so a bit of colour on them would have helped if done well. Whatever brow 'specialist' did them - shaped them like wedges and then sold her some expensive brow kit which is sort of orange. Now she has orangutan brows. It's so bad I would've told her but she's a massive cow to everyone so I didn't.

Toddlerteaplease · 07/01/2019 14:41

I know a couple of older lady's with drawn on eyebrows, but they are way to high and they look utterly ridiculous.

Laiste · 07/01/2019 14:42

MaddieElla like many of the make up trends out and about these days the highlighted nose has it's roots in photography make up.

Contouring and highlighting looks good when done well in artificial lighting and used for stage or photography. I think a lot of these girls do all this to look good for the trout pout selfies in their rooms but then go out thinking it still looks good in the cold light of day on the high street.

Laiste · 07/01/2019 14:46

I feel terrible bitching. But pp saying about superdrug is right. On saturday i was ... mesmerised by a set of false lashes so long wanging up and down i couldn't really concentrate on her answer to my question.

greedygorb · 07/01/2019 14:48

I agree with the photography thing. I went to a 40th a while ago and the woman had had her makeup done professionally. She looked downright weird. But then I saw the photos and she looked great. That's probably why I look shit in photos.
