And shit... this just sums it up Grin if the picture has attached.

I’m only 29 so not exactly old... or maybe I am Hmm

My brows are over plucked more than anything, so not perfect... but why do girls have to over do it on the brow palette

I have no eyebrows, they went and hair started thinning. Had to draw them on everyday. Treated myself to microblading for my 30th. Worth every penny I'm so happy with them.

FevertreeLight · 07/01/2019 21:15

i have deep eyebrows and large lips, i was teased as a child and teenager- now all the rage.

NewYorkDoll3 · 07/01/2019 21:18

Middle aged female here, and I have never, ever, EVER plucked - or shaved my eyebrows ... (OR shaved my legs...)

Never needed to, never wanted to.

Ukelou · 07/01/2019 21:32

Beautiful audrey with huge brows

I didn’t notice all the replies on here Grin

Mine are seriously over plucked so when I don’t have my fringe, I fill them in a little without looking like a clown.

I wonder if girls look in the mirror before they leave the house.

I do admire girls who can fill in their brows and make them look so natural and nice (not thick black slugs)

I was part of the over plucking trend they were painfully thin. I look back at photos and cringe!
Although it was only about 5 years ago I started to try and let them grow and omg what a slow process.
I have to fill them in with pencil as they are still patchy in places and abit short but im so glad im past the over plucking now. I dont care what trends come in im never plucking them thin, tattooing them or anything bar my trusted pencil 😂 to some I probably do look odd i dont go ott though i just fill them in. Really hoping they continue to grow and eventually look ok natural... anybody got any eyebrow growing tips??
Wish my eyebrows would get tips from my chin if it grew as fast as those sodding hairs I’d have a monobrow by now 😑

Orangecushions · 07/01/2019 21:47

DD has just returned from Uzbekistan- monobrows are considered beautiful and women pencil in the middle. Quite startling if you’re used to European eyebrows

Betsy86, same here its taken a long time, and mine are sparse naturally anyway. I brush them up with a spooly , brush wax of rebel hairs, draw under and top 1/4 with pencil fill in with pomade or taupe shadow, set with lipcote in summer (yes lipcote, those buggers dont move)

Dowdydoes · 07/01/2019 23:13

I rather like that monobrow

Ifangyow · 07/01/2019 23:16

I don't understand why anyone would want to look like Dennis Healey.Confused

LordEmsworth · 07/01/2019 23:22

@kikipost - yes, I would recommend HD Brows. I love them, I have a good natural shape anyway but HD Brows makes them look groomed and precise.

The people slagging them off on here, are getting them confused with a specific look. HD doesn't mean you have to have thick dark blocky brows - mine are not any of those things.

FlumpyMummy · 07/01/2019 23:25

I'm baffled by this look. It is like growing a beard, shaving it off then drawing it back on Grin

Notsobendy · 07/01/2019 23:45

When I see girls with ridiculous eyebrows out and about I have a little chuckle to myself as reminds me of this guy (Ming the Merciless - Flash Gordon villian for those too young to know who he is)

MargueritaPink · 07/01/2019 23:53

Did anyone on here have a terrible 70s/80s/90s perm. If you did and if the internet had existed then how would you feel about a similar thread saying how awful you looked?

(And yes I did have one)

Studentnurse1981 · 08/01/2019 01:16

To be honest I don't think the brows that they say look shit on that pic, look that bad. Iv seen far far far worse

jessstan2 · 08/01/2019 01:21

I think big eyebrows are awful. It is the trend now though - that and very skinny legs with no shape!

Very odd. Glad I'm not so young any more.

ChillingWithNickDrake · 08/01/2019 01:47

I absolutely hate the current fake eyebrow trend, thick hook shaped arches with that square faded end wtf are they thinking. I find it hard to concentrate when talking to anyone with them.

Mind you I’ve always left mine alone and I like them natural. I do have to comb them every morning though 😂

Kikipost · 08/01/2019 06:12

@LordEmsworth

Thank you!

How long do they last you?
And when do they look their best? Ie week afterwards?

Thanks

LordEmsworth · 08/01/2019 07:41

@kikipost I get them done every 4 to 6 weeks, depending how fast they grow - generally closer to 5-6 weeks. The tint probably fades after 10-14 days so I would say they're at their best from day 2 to day 8/9.

Honestly, a couple of months ago a shop assistant paused while serving me to look properly and tell me how great they looked. The mix of waxing, threading and plucking just gives a nicer finish than any one of them on their own.

Kikipost · 08/01/2019 07:42

Do they look really dark and noticeable the first day or so?

Thanks so much for advice!

Anerak · 08/01/2019 08:54

The first eyebrows are micro-bladed, the second are a cosmetic marketing companies dream, ('tell me a tip in a magazine, I will follow and buy your product'). Both are fake, the first ones look more natural though. Recommend any young ones you know doing it (the old ones are past help) to look into microblading, it will do wonders for their face and stop them looking like a pantomime dame.

Bouledeneige · 08/01/2019 09:15

My DD paid a salon to have her's done and I told her she could have saved her money and I'd've drawn them in with a sharpie! She laughed.
Its the nature of fashion that people my age aren't supposed to get it.

CatnissEverdene · 08/01/2019 09:20

My Mum plucked hers into oblivion in the 60s/70s, so she has none left.

A couple of years ago, she went and had them tattooed on (as in semi permnanent make up tattoo) ...... She is quite pale, with light brown hair and she has got 2 black slugs on her forehead Hmm

Haworthia · 08/01/2019 09:26

Microblading is the worst!

But when you say that on here you get 20 people saying 'you can only spot the bad ones but mine are brilliant'

No. No they're not. You tattooed your forehead, love

Bloody hell, that’s mean. Who pissed on your chips?

I’ve seen a lot of bad micro blading. I’ve also seen it done really well.

I have mine microbladed, because I had no brows at all. None. I looked like an alien for the best part of 15 years. I tried to draw them on, but each day they’d be a different size and shape, especially post-children when I was in much more of a hurry. I hated it and I just wished I could have normal brows like normal people.

Microblading changed my life. Do they look like tattoos? Yes, they do. I’m not kidding myself that they look just like real hairs, because they don’t. But they’re a great shape and size, and for the first time ever, symmetrical!

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 08/01/2019 09:29

Lots of them are done so badly and unnaturally, so as much as your eye is drawn to them I try not to look. One day they'll realise and I don't want to make them feel any worse.

I have naturally curly hair but still asked for a perm in the nineties, which is crazy. My friends with naturally straight hair had a perfect straight fringe surrounded by perm. I tried to get a straight fringe but it turned into devil-like horns 😈.
