Is anyone looking forward to it? Did anyone who vote leave happy they voted it? Or regretful?

Birchill likes Brexit because she expects...

  • It's more exciting & less boring than the status quo (her favourite reasons)
  • Britain will trade more equally with rest of world (this sounds like poorer access to rest of world's markets = good thing in Birchill's mind, coz it's fairer to poorer countries)
  • End of European dominance (over world she means not just over Britain)
  • Falling UK property prices will be good for 1st time buyers
  • Higher wages in UK due to labour shortages

Also, it's silly whinging when someone complains there might be sugar shortage or less access to fresh cut flowers.

How do you expect Freedom from the EU to change your daily life ?

madcatladyforever · 03/01/2019 19:16

Goodness me whatever did we do before the EU. We must have lived like serfs. Tell that to the Greeks who are currently living like serfs.

themoomoo · 03/01/2019 19:16

In the micro aspects of my own personal life I expect no change.
in terms of the economy of the country i expect an improvement

Moussemoose · 03/01/2019 19:17

Freedom

That's like saying 'trust', 'misery' or 'anger' it's just an abstract noun.

It is not a complete sentence, it's not an argument, it's just a word.

madcatladyforever · 03/01/2019 19:17

And I should add all of my family are immigrants.

Clairaloulou · 03/01/2019 19:19

@bellinisurge

Thank you love. Brittle asthma is a bitch this time of year.

Moussemoose · 03/01/2019 19:19

Now don't start about the 70s again.

The 70s were shit.

Clairaloulou · 03/01/2019 19:19

@Itinerary

Thanks I tried!

Clairaloulou · 03/01/2019 19:20

@twofingerstoEverything

Your name is brilliant and very apt, two fingers to you!

drspouse · 03/01/2019 19:21

Goodness me whatever did we do before the EU.
We lived in the 1970s, that's what we did.
You go and live there if you like.

Lweji · 03/01/2019 19:21

It's like comparing life before marriage with a divorce with underage kids and joint finances.

In what ways?
Which aspects of government management will improve after Brexit that could not be done now?

countrygirl99 · 03/01/2019 19:24

Moussemoose another survivor of the 70s here. Absolutely no wish to revisit that experience despite having been much slimmer then.

KennDodd · 03/01/2019 19:25

@twofingerstoEverything

Completely agree, this mess is exactly what Leavers voted for. Leave was undefined, there was no plan, remember? If what we have now doesn't match whatever fantasy you had going on in your head when you voted, well more fool you for voting for it.

mrssunshinexxx · 03/01/2019 19:30

I genuinely wonder how many leave voters are completely FED UP of remain voters moaning.

Change the record we are leaving and it will be fine end of.

Trevorwhatever · 03/01/2019 19:32

Just think how much better the nhs will be with brexit. The huge food shortages we’re going to get after March 29th will cure the obesity problem we currently have Grin

Ta1kinPeace · 03/01/2019 19:33

mrssunshine

Did you vote for leaving the customs union or staying in
as both are Brexit?

Buteo · 03/01/2019 19:33

To be fair, there were bits of the 70s I liked and probably were good for me. Playing Monopoly by candlelight during the rolling blackouts was Good Family Fun, and the energy crisis meant we got fitter because we had to walk and cycle everywhere, and the sugar shortage was no doubt good for my teeth. And I had a blue passport, of course.

WrongKindOfFace · 03/01/2019 19:33

Well, now you’ve said, ‘end of’ I am completely reassured and know it’ll all be just dandy.

Ta1kinPeace · 03/01/2019 19:37

Buteo
Do not forget the Green Shield stamps while queuing for petrol as it reached 50p a gallon
and buying pasta in the "exotic foods" aisle

So it’ll be good for the environment too. Plenty to look forward to.

mrssunshinexxx · 03/01/2019 19:39

Who said I voted leave ?

Moussemoose · 03/01/2019 19:40

All I'm saying is Vesta Curry.

You have been warned.

mrssunshinexxx · 03/01/2019 19:40

Wrong I'm so pleased 😃
