A(nother) thread to ask for conclusions or links to threads. Post your worst. Grin

My one is the No Parking sign and the mini car with a Santa ornament in. No idea what it was called but if a tone knows pretty please link. It was very funny.

So what's your mystery thread?

Kind of thing that could happen to anyone, nutty neighbours! - felt that she was really dealing with it so well despite everything. I would have cracked much sooner.

Does anyone remember the lady who posted saying she’d woken up at a friends house after a party, and she realised she’d had a huge face drawn in her back? Properly with markers and such? MNers said it must’ve been the friends husband. Wonder what came about of that situation...

Yes I remember that, I'd asked about that further up on this thread, i found it quite sad reading that thread, a weird situation to be in.

mogwaigremlin · 05/01/2019 15:24

There was a thread fairly recently where the op was holding an art party for her DS but her friends husband was insisting the DS should have a football party, the husband was getting increasingly weirder, does anyone remember how that one turned out?

MrsWillGardner · 05/01/2019 20:30

@covetingthepreciousthings

Yes definitely a weird situation. I wonder if she ever got to the bottom of it.

ImpossibleGirl · 06/01/2019 03:18

@mogwaigremlin this should be the link ... he got more scary, then OP disappeared... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3431773-to-tell-my-friend-to-sod-off-with-her-helpful-husband

mogwaigremlin · 06/01/2019 18:12

@Impossible

Thanks, gosh I hope it really wasn't anything sinister.

mothertruck3r · 06/01/2019 18:35

The one about the single mum who was being threatened by her new neighbours for her wifi password and even tried to get it out of her child. Felt really sorry for her.

mothertruck3r · 06/01/2019 18:37

Also the one about a lady who bought a farmhouse that had a barn that would be used for horses except it was full of sewing machines and equipment that belonged to a neighbour who told her she couldn't get rid of it and when she did the neighbour said there would be big trouble.

ImpossibleGirl · 06/01/2019 19:08

@mothertruck3r - This was the last one that I saw on the sewing CF... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3158508-Throwing-out-neighbours-belongings-update?msgid=76120220

What happened with Titszilla - a London boob job where a friend was manipulated into being a taxi/chaperone service but expected to pay for the privilege? T. was suing for loss of the cost of the operation when she couldn't get any other mugs to help after broadcasting on facebook??

Don't remember that thread...but years ago, literally 45 years ago my best friend and I lived around the corner from each other and the mid point between our houses was an old house with a crumbly brick and flint wall, we used to leave notes in code for each other behind one of the loose flints.
Remember this was long before mobiles, and we were not allowed to just ring a friend on the house phone that you'd see next day at school, but we could go out eg to the post box (not far from crumbly wall), so we did and dropped notes off.

i read a thread in the early hours of christmas morning about a single mum who didnt have much money and she was really upset because she'd asked her dad to make her daughter a little wooden kitchen for christmas and he said he would, but when she went to collect it he said there had been a change of plan and he would be giving his granddaughter the gift from him and a couple of other family members instead and wouldnt hand it over. instead he would give it to the little girl when he saw her on boxing day and the mum was really upset because she hadnt got anything else. quite a few people had posted on it saying how sorry they were. when i checked on boxing day couldnt find the thread. perhaps it was a dodgy one but i'd be interested to know how things turned out if it was genuine.

NellaBonella · 21/01/2019 11:50

What happened in the one were the OP owned a couple of properties in a row and rented one out through a letting agent and lived in one herself?
The neighbour didn't know it was the OP they were renting from and started telling people they owned the place and decorated inside with gloss (bright red maybe?) and threw out the kitchen cupboards without OP's permission

ChesterGreySideboard · 21/01/2019 13:10

I remember that one.
Didn’t it turn out that the man had told the wife he had bought it rather than renting.
