To give back a half eaten cheese board?

Ended things with my DP last night. Understandably he is a bit upset and has been messaging me today having a rant. He has asked for everything he has given me to be returned so I intend to bag it up and deposit it by his house under cover of darkness tonight. AIBU to also return the half eaten cheese board he gave me before Christmas? When I asked him what to return he just said "everything"

This thread is making me grin like a Cheshire cat

Hey, you will get through this OP Flowers
Treat yourself.
I suggest a Spar Day (cheese section.)
Wink

I agree, sounds like a Gouda idea. He's coming across a bit Emmental.

BlueEyedBengal · 30/12/2018 21:38

I would never waste good cheese on a man, it's just not worth it. I tasted goats cheese at a farmers market it was a mild one, not bad bud don't think I would put it in my shopping. Lidl's do a nice flatbread pasta zzz that has goats cheese on it and that's yummy. You made me laugh so thanks for that.

WhoWants2Know · 30/12/2018 21:47

It all depends on the cheese, really. If it's squishy or mouldy, give it back. But if it's nice cheese, then get some crackers and keep it.

HotSauceCommittee · 30/12/2018 23:25

You were right to goat cheese off with him. He sounds like a right knob cheese.

SmolShrimp · 30/12/2018 23:54

KEEP IT

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 30/12/2018 23:54

It is Ossau-Iraty-ating that you had to drive so far. But I hope you enjoy the goats cheese :)

This one needs linking to from the Threads of 2018 thread

When he comes to collect his second hand PS4, tell him to ask for "cheese" then take a photo and treasure it.

Qcng · 31/12/2018 00:09

^Awe I was too late

Smellbellina · 31/12/2018 00:13

Having tonight found maggots in the underside of my half eaten cheese I say give it back!!!

TheVoiceOfRaisin · 31/12/2018 00:31

Some people pay a lot of money for cheese with maggots in.

Give him everything- Christmas presents, cheeseboard, cheese, the lot. Put it all in a bin bag and put it on his doorstep. Every little thing he has ever given you. Don't let him think you want a scrap of it. He will feel ridiculous when he is left with it all. He thinks he is hurting you but he's being a pompous twat- it's all about control.
I did this once with an ex who asked for everything back and said he meant everything. I just put the lot- gifts, half a bottle of wine from the fridge, sea shells, jewellery, candles, spices he'd bought when he cooked, his clothes that were still there, a couple of books, photos, my Christmas presents from a month earlier, cards he'd sent me and notes, a picture he'd bought me that he knew I'd absolutely treasured- in a couple of bin bags and took it round while he was at work and left it with a note that said 'Think that's the lot. Couldn't find anything else. Just keep anything I gave you, or chuck it - there's nothing I'd want back'.

pineapplebryanbrown · 31/12/2018 00:43

You mustn't let him roulet you OP.

AlwaysSomethingThere · 31/12/2018 00:50

Grow up OP and stop being such a Babybel 😊

Monty27 · 31/12/2018 00:50

Cheeses! Just do the bored and tell you don't have any gripes.

pineapplebryanbrown · 31/12/2018 01:32

He sounds like a Munster, why did you have any truckle with him at all. Are you Emmental?

Yulebealrite · 31/12/2018 01:53

Wotsit he say when you went round? Did you deliver everything with a cheesy grin or were you mild? That would have been the mature way if you were strong enough, but tbh I'd have taken a medium approach as I wouldn't have had the cheesy balls to cut him to size. I bet you could cut the atmosphere with a cheese knife. I hope he doesn't have sour grapes.

Steamedbadger · 31/12/2018 02:02

Wotsit he say when you went round?
Quavered in terror?

C0untDucku1a · 31/12/2018 02:03

I hope he had the decency to return your gifts to him.

Yulebealrite · 31/12/2018 02:05

The whole situation is crackers.

Yulebealrite · 31/12/2018 02:06

You have got yourself in a right pickle op.

popcornwizard · 31/12/2018 02:11

If he asks for the cheese and you've eaten it, just poop in some Tupperware and post it back to him.

Yulebealrite · 31/12/2018 02:13

At least he's cheese on toast now. After all this drama I bet you are cream crackered.
