to think Duchess Kate is worryingly thin?

Just saw pictures of the Royal Family coming out of Church at Christmas and was struck by how incredibly thin Kate is, especially around the waist and hips.

I'm sure I will be accused of just feeling jealous, but honestly I would be concerned if I saw an 18-y-o girl that skinny, let alone a woman in her 30s with three children. I can't imagine how severely you have to diet to be that thin so soon after giving birth. I know she is naturally slim but even so, I am worried the constant media attention is having a bad effect on her self-image/mental health.

I'm worried about .(insert random sleb name)..........................
She's so overweight and short, her waist has disappeared and is the same size as her hips. She has a muffin top and is apple shaped.
It's not good.
Her shape is putting her at risk of heart attack and diabetes.
I'm really fake worried about her!

Not nice is it?

She looks very slim but not severely underweight or bony. She probably does eat healthily and exercise as she seems the sensible sort who would and she has access to all the best healthy foods. That doesn't mean she has to starve herself, after all she isn't trying to lose weight and if she exercises she can probably eat 2000cals a day.

Too thin for what exactly? Because she looks well, she's as fit as a fiddle and she's had three healthy children. The only thing I can think that she might be too thin for is other women's approval. And that matters not one jot.

Not children, she's had 3

Not clothes, she's model shaped

For health? With her money she will be able to buy the best healthcare, nutrition, training available

Jesus wept! You are accusing her of having a serious mental disorder. She's obviously of such a weight that she's able to conceive, carry to term and bear children without too much difficulty.

And how come whenever there's a Meghan thread the accusations of 'jealousy' are out after a few posts but on here, naw, none of you is jealous of Kate.

Yes she is thin and no doubt she works hard for it as she wasn’t as super thin as a student (although still slim). I imagine anyone in her position would be thin given the scrutiny of being in the public eye. Think about how many people get to their thinnest for a wedding then imagine that pressure every day. I’d be pretty motivated to be at the thinner end of what I could be too.

She did seem to suit being pregnant though which probably means she is in the enviable position where she could put on a stone and still look really good.

I have to say, not specific to Kate, that a lot of women in the public eye look like prison camp victims, they are so gaunt. I’m looking at Jessica Chastain, who looks permanently like she’s auditioning for a remake of Tenko.

That’s not healthy.

I was not criticising her looks, I was voicing a concern about her health.

Is it really that unreasonable or weird to feel concern for a stranger? Especially a stranger whom you see pictures of practically everywhere you turn?

When you say “ worryingly thin” who’s is it that supposed to worry?Even if she does have an ED it’s obviously not impinging on her abilities to perform as a Royal. Diana carried on with her problems and had possibly found a new love. Your whole world doesn’t have to fall apart because you aren’t 100% either physically or mentally.

Never seen a photo of her looking even vaguely fat from childhood through Uni and as part of the Royals. I’d be more concerned if she suddenly gained a few stone TBH.

She is lean and fit

Maybe if more women in the UK aimed to eat less and bitch less the whole country would be healthier

I have MANY gym friends who are as lean as her in their 40's 50's and 60's
they tend to eat and drink the right amount for a non fat laden body

So, let me get this straight..... (I know MN is a forum, and it's sometimes hugely beneficial to people who need help) BUT you are discussing a real person, whom I doubt any of us know personally, based on photos taken by paparazzi, without any knowledge of her actual weight, clothes size or any medical history. This is pretty grotesque.

Honestly, I don’t know, but I hope she’s happy and not fighting hard with her weight.

I’m a recovered anorexic, it nearly ruined my life.

I go to the gym. There's plenty of thin women there but I've never seen a woman there as thin as Kate.

Couldn’t care less about her weight. Just think though of what she could achieve from her privileged position if she used her time and energy to focus on other things....

TBH I am basing my opinion on her actual size and build on passing her in a corridor not long ago
she was no slimmer than many of the other women there
slimmer and taller than me
but nothing out of the ordinary

And I'm in the US - land of the obese according to MN - and I see plenty of women as thin as her at the gym every day.
