To ask what you have for Christmas Day breakfast

Eliza9917 · 24/12/2018 15:59

I would have bucks fizz followed by Pina coladas but we have to drive and visit.

So, we are having m&s blini's, soft whipped cheese, smoked salmon, caviar and prawns.

What's on your menu?

Usually a selection box 😂

Groovee · 24/12/2018 17:00

Croissants with M&S cocktail sausages, strawberries and banana and melon.

Dh on call and Dd working then me and ds are going to my mums x

easyandy101 · 24/12/2018 17:04

easyandy crumpets in the shape of Christmas trees, from Asda. I’ve not had them before and strongly suspect them to be an over rated novelty but that’s obligatory at Christmas!

This makes way more sense than what I was imagining Grin

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 24/12/2018 17:04

We have christmas tree crumpets, brioche & croissants while we're opening our presents. We usually have ferrero rocher.

BrendasUmbrella · 24/12/2018 17:05

Whatever is left in the Quality Street tub...

Parker231 · 24/12/2018 17:06

We’ve 10 guests staying this week plus the four of us so breakfast is help yourself. We don’t have cooked breakfasts but there will be a selection of pastries, breads, cereal, fruit, cheeses and cold meats. I’ll probably start with a selection box!

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 24/12/2018 17:06

Oh and DH & I normally have Baileys coffee, but he's driving and I have to go to work, so no such delights for us this year.

BadHairDyeDay · 24/12/2018 17:06

I thought everyone had chocolate and alcohol. Just me then 🤷‍♀️

WheelyCoteClaus · 24/12/2018 17:07

Waffles or pancakes!!!

We're having a waffle bar tommorrow morning, with choice of

chopped bananas, blueberries and crumbled oreos, icecream, maple syrup

With bucks fizzGrin

Thesearmsofmine · 24/12/2018 17:08

Marbled brioche loaf and fruit this year.

Crookedcolours · 24/12/2018 17:08

Bacon sarnie and a cup of tea

sosoverytired · 24/12/2018 17:09

Prosecco and coffee

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 24/12/2018 17:11

Full Scottish breakfast Grin

To be fair, Christmas dinner isn’t until late afternoon, so that’s why.

DS1 doesn’t like it so he’s having French toast with bacon.

viques · 24/12/2018 17:13

Porridge. Though to be fair I will probably have scoffed some chocolate in bed beforehand

On another note I don't understand the scrambled egg and smoked salmon thing. I love both, but think it does a disservice to both to put them together. Just saying, personal choice. Smile

BikeRunSki · 24/12/2018 17:14

I am staying with my PiL. We will have white toast and Flora or Weetabix. They are comfortably well off*, but why let the biggest festival of the year get in the way of send-imposed austerity?

  • 2 civil service pensions, no mortgage or fuel bills (solar panels for electric, no gas).
WillowUfgood · 24/12/2018 17:14

My 2 DD's are having pancakes with fruit, choc toppings etc, me and DP usually have Eggs Benedict but I'm just fancying weetabix or a BLT bagel this year! We go to visit family for lunch and stay til around bed time and there's always bacon sandwiches on arrival Grin

Pinkgin50 · 24/12/2018 17:15

Aldi brioche Christmas tree with fortnum and mason passion fruit curd and bucks fizz

cheesenpickles · 24/12/2018 17:15

@BikeRunSki does the mil insist everybody scrape what they don't eat back into the pans for leftovers? I had a family member who used to do this and it was a bit ConfusedShock

moonfacebaby · 24/12/2018 17:16

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels, with capers.

No booze as I’d cock up the christmas dinner!

Lambzig · 24/12/2018 17:18

Eggs Royale and bellinis.

I gave up alcohol in Oct so trying to decide whether I have a day off or just drink the peach juice.

cuppycakey · 24/12/2018 17:20

Full English.

Smoked salmon is yucky Xmas Grin

BikeRunSki · 24/12/2018 17:20

@cheesenpickles portions are so small that there are never any leftovers.Seriously, we had lasagna for 6 last night, made in a dish smaller than I use for 4. DH forewarned her that DS(10) is growing madly abd eating a lot at the moment, so she bought an extra apple for each day of our visit.

maddiemookins16mum · 24/12/2018 17:20

Mugs of tea and Christmas tree crumpets with butter.
We have church at 10.30 so not a lot of time for a cooked brekkie (save that for Boxing Day).

cheesenpickles · 24/12/2018 17:24

@BikeRunSki oh dear! Fingers crossed for loads of chocolate presents tomorrow! Grin

RitaMills · 24/12/2018 17:25

Bagels with scrambled eggs and crispy bacon and Buck’s Fizz. Xmas Grin
