Do you like going out out?

Went out out for the first time in years. Bar where it's to loud to hear anyone but not a dancing kind of place. Next place, freezing outside then hot, sweaty and smelly inside.

I'm basically old and miserable aren't I

OP posts:
AppleKatie · 23/12/2018 20:10

Nope I agree OP. There’s a reason that everyone out out is blind drunk.

JaiNotJay · 23/12/2018 20:11

No, I can't think of anything worse!

whiteroseredrose · 23/12/2018 20:11

Hate it!

whatwillbewillbe03 · 23/12/2018 20:12

No.. I agree.. I hate going out out.. at 35 (looking younger) i now feel too old to dance the night away.. I want bra off and dressing on by 10:30, please

MsVestibule · 23/12/2018 20:12

TBH, I didn't really enjoy that type of night out when I was 20; now I'm in my late 40s, I like them even less. Give me a lively restaurant which serves good food or a bar where I can sit down and have a conversation and I'm happy.

But then again, I think i was born in my mid-30s, so...

Grace212 · 23/12/2018 20:13

no point to a bar where it's too loud to hear but there's no dancing!!

Birdsgottafly · 23/12/2018 20:13

I had a great social life, up until I was 45.

Ive just had two years of illness, lost my friends and I miss going out. I'm 51.

Wintermam · 23/12/2018 20:13

26 year old and couldn't agree more with you. Have always hated them types of places

Alexindisguise · 23/12/2018 20:14

I like the idea of it and getting dressed up etc. Then hate it whilst I'm there and just want to go home and put my dressing gown on.

BikeRunSki · 23/12/2018 20:14

I didn’t even really like going out out when I was in my twenties. Pretty much gave up since I had dc (10 yrs ago). Maybe the work Christmas do, but i’ll pretty much always be the first person to leave. It’s very easy to not drink/drive home/leave early when you live in the countryside and have small children!

confusedandemployed · 23/12/2018 20:15

I bloody love going out. However, my idea of going out has always been old men's pubs, a good curry then back to someone's for more beer. Even as a 6th former I hated the shiny plastic places.

formerbabe · 23/12/2018 20:15

Oh God no. Very embarrassingly my only reason to go out out years ago was to meet men Blush back in the day when there was no online dating and you'd actually have to talk to each other Grin

Can't see the point now...I much prefer a nice restaurant.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/12/2018 20:17

Nope! I don’t mind being out, i love to dance so I like a club in theory. it’s the getting there and back especially when cold and dark, the thought of heels and trying to pull an outfit together, eugh

Grace212 · 23/12/2018 20:18

@Birdsgottafly Flowers

Boswellox · 23/12/2018 20:29

I hear you but have often wondered if there's a gap in the market to accommodate the 30+ crowd. In my head I invented a GAB (Get a Babysitter) Night as a catch all term to cover anyone who likes a boogie but doesn't necessarily want to go to a specifically singles night.

Thingsdogetbetter · 23/12/2018 20:33

This is why afternoon drinking was invented. Tipsy and leaving before the crowds arrive and music is turned up! Lol

formerbabe · 23/12/2018 20:33

If I had to go to a nightclub the ideal scenario would be...

A. A free car park on site.
B. Open from 7pm-11pm
C. Music not too loud
D. A crowd who are 30+
E. Plenty of places to sit down
F. A delicious buffet
G. All men wearing suits

That would be perfect!

dudsville · 23/12/2018 20:34

Out out is for drinking and dancing, nothing else.

FrogFairy · 23/12/2018 20:37

I had many fantastic nights out out in my late teens and early twenties.

Now I am a teetotal, miserable old couch potato, which suits me just fine.

Bubba1234 · 23/12/2018 20:50

I thought I grew out of it but my husband and I went out during the week and we had a ball dancing the night away it’s nice once a month but not every weekend but we had a laugh and can’t wait to head out again

lastqueenofscotland · 23/12/2018 20:53

I hate clubbing but I love going to indie gigs. Love love love going to old man pubs with DP and chewing the fat over a few pints of Guinness but I guess that is not out out

Noteverythingisabingthing · 23/12/2018 20:54

I love it but rarely get to do it as I have young children. I prefer a good piss up in a pub and random drunken conversations while smoking (don't smoke unless I am out out!) in the beer garden, to bar hopping and clubs though!

ikltownofboothlehem · 23/12/2018 20:55

Nope. We were getting ready to go to a party the other week and I said to DH 'how the bloody hell dud we used to do this every week? Sometimes twice?'

Oysterbabe · 23/12/2018 20:55

God no, I can't think of anything worse. I like it when DH goes out out though and I can watch Netflix in peace and have an early night alone.

PookieDo · 23/12/2018 20:56

No I don’t like going out. I used to go out every weekend. For 5 years now I have hardly gone out at all and don’t miss it one bit, initially it was money and I had a very bad back problem but now it is choice
