What is the first thing you would think of? Would you give it a second thought at all? This is just a poll cause I wanna know.

My ex developed full-blown Parkinsons at 26... I don't know how young the man you are talking about is but Parkinsons in young people can happen.

Sashkin · 27/12/2018 05:26

I had PTSD in my 20s and never had any kind of tremor. DSiL has C-PTSD and no tremor. So that wouldn’t occur to me at all.

I’d assume benign essential tremor, or medications. Maybe alcohol withdrawal. Parkinson’s tremor is quite specific so I’d recognise that if I saw it.

Yes young people CAN get Parkinson's.. I have MS and I know that some people with that can have a tremor. And MS is DEFINITELY a young person's disease, typically diagnosed between 20 and mid 40s. I was 26.

Of course you can get Parkinsons in your 20s but it is generally a disease which presents in late middle age. What am I saying? Only tortoises live to about 120.

Peoples' hands tremble for a variety of reasons, many of them not as dramatic as a serious disease or drink problem so I wish people would stop with the amateur diagnoses.

ralfeesmum · 27/12/2018 10:52

I would think either a condition such as Parkinson's or maybe a drink-related condition? But I'd be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, initially, and go for the Parkinson's option. Then just see how it pans out.

Parkinsons parkinsons parkinsons.
Like it wouldn't just be essential tremor which is far more common.
The current statistics suggest that in the UK 1 out of every 25 people suffers from essential tremor.
1 out of every 500 suffer with parkinsons.

It's definitely parkinsons disease thoHmm
