What is the first thing you would think of? Would you give it a second thought at all? This is just a poll cause I wanna know.

As I do it myself and have done my entire life (dm is the same) I’m unlikely to think anything

Pretenditsaplan · 23/12/2018 17:58

My hands often shake people always ask me if im ok because im shaking. I used to have to say i just always shake i dont know why. Found out 2 years ago from a pharmacist its from my my salbutomal inhaler. Why drs havnt been able to tell me this for 23 years prior i dont know

Sugarformyhoney · 23/12/2018 18:02

Essential tremor, medication, mental health.
I’d not think too much into it tbh. My asthma inhaler used to make me shake like crazy

JaneJeffer · 23/12/2018 18:18

I have essential tremor so I'd think maybe he has too.

EvansOvalPies · 23/12/2018 19:51

My son suffers with this - for him it's from 15 yrs of motocross riding. There are all sorts of causes, certainly not all alcohol, drug or mental health-related.

2manybiscuits · 23/12/2018 20:09

Anxiety. My hands can tremble eating/drinking infront of people it's an awful condition that I find very embarrasing incase I spill my drink or food because my hands are shaking.

Grumpbum123 · 23/12/2018 20:58

Full dose Venlafaxine

Curious0yster · 23/12/2018 23:06

My first thought would be that they were taking antipsychotic medication, but I’m a mental health nurse so my perception is probably skewed!

sj257 · 23/12/2018 23:13

I would think a condition like MS or Parkinson’s

ilovepixie · 23/12/2018 23:50

My dad had trembling hands all his lifecfrom a young child. Hundreds of doctors appointments over the years never found the cause. They stopped trembling when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 69.

Birdshitbridgegotme · 23/12/2018 23:52

I knew a guy in his early 20s with Parkinson's so yea u can have it young

Vampiratequeen · 24/12/2018 00:06

It could be
Parkinson's
Dyspraxia
Addiction
Anxiety
Too much caffeine

Guiltypleasures001 · 24/12/2018 00:06

My husbands medication makes his hands tremble slightly

Cuddlykitten123 · 24/12/2018 00:09

Stress and the subsequent adrenaline build up can cause tremors

cushioncuddle · 24/12/2018 00:10

My S's hands tremor , it's just what they do !

Not because of alcohol , drugs , illness etc

janice511 · 24/12/2018 17:40

Benign essential tremor.

Cloglover · 24/12/2018 17:40

I think most people would be empathetic rather than judgemental.

And I would assume that part of the ptsd is that he would feel vulnerable towards others judgements.

Am glad he's getting help. X

maureen17 · 24/12/2018 17:50

yes my grandson since he was 17 ... suffers from MS

dorisdog · 24/12/2018 17:56

Your poor DH. My hands tremble whenever I'm nervous (public speaking and having to fiddle with laptops/slides/sheets of paper is a particular nightmare). I'm self conscious about it, but it's made me very empathic towards other people who have trembly hands. I never assume anything and just ignore it.

Shockers · 24/12/2018 18:22

My son has trembling hands. In his case it’s linked to epilepsy.

C00lio · 24/12/2018 18:27

I would probably have thought nervousness/medical condition (not alcohol or drugs unless there was some other indication of them) - until I met my friend who has shaky hands for literally no known reason. Has done since a kid, apparently (she's now 45). They only stop when she's had a few drinks Grin.

So now I wouldn't think anything except, "Oh, shaky hands."

Zippyzoppy · 24/12/2018 18:33

I would think essential tremor.

imip · 24/12/2018 18:43

Child I know has this - essential tremor. Adult I know, side effects of medication.

Vivianebrezilletbrooks · 24/12/2018 19:13

I used to work with a guy years ago who had really shaky hands. I always thought it was Parkinson's disease but I found out years later he was an alcoholic so it was withdrawal symptoms. It could also be depression as well or anxiety or nerves.

BackBoiler · 24/12/2018 19:17

Come down/withdrawal from a weekend of coke binge
