We had Christmas day at our house on the weekend just gone for various reasons, and once the kids finish school on Friday we’ll be going to stay with family until 5th Jan.

I am so so tired from work and looking forward to the christmas break, but I really don’t want to come back to decs on 5th Jan.

Aibu to take it down tomorrow?!

megletthesecond · 19/12/2018 18:26

I would.

OnTrain · 19/12/2018 18:37

Oh good, I was feeling a bit guilty!

I definitely would. Xmas decs begin to depress the crap out of me on December 27th, so the thought of returning to them on January 5th is horrifying.

rosamacrose · 19/12/2018 18:43

Take it down!
Coming back to that on the 5th would be a bit like waking up to the washing up (you should've done) after a party!

Oh yes take them down, although if you're away will it make your house look even more unoccupied?

If you've got that covered then definitely take them down!

Haha haman we don’t normally put ours up until around the 18th, but as we celebrated early, it went up earliest we’ve ever done it!

OP posts:

Leave it up! You don't have to take it down until the 6th traditionally so it's not too late.

OnTrain · 19/12/2018 20:29

Gosh cherries that’s late! How come?

OP posts:
OnTrain · 19/12/2018 20:30

I’ve never really worried about an unoccupied house before tokyo

OnTrain · 19/12/2018 20:32

Inknow recently but I’m trying to figure out whether I’ll be less arsed about wanting to do it tomorrw or in Jan.

I’m so tired, but I’m tempted to just get it down

Gosh yes. I take the DC to my parents for a few days after Christmas day each year, and when I get back the tree fairy (DH) has taken the tree down and it looks so clean and spacious in the living room.

DappledThings · 19/12/2018 20:32

When I'm dictator of the world one of my rules will be that if you choose to put up Xmas decorations they must stay up for the full 12 days of Christmas.
