Anyone else just feel fucking sorry for themselves today?

I have woken up with a cold. Just a cold. Except I feel bloody awful, couldn't sleep all night and now have to go to work with a razor blade throat, running nose and listen to clients moan about us daring to be closed over Christmas.

Who else is having a shitty Monday already?

D&V here today, a shitty day all around.
I suspect you may have to quarantine me on the plane.

Feel like I've had a permanent cold for 6 weeks. I haven't, I started with a virus that took 3 weeks to go ( and even remotely feel better!) then since then I've had a few more colds. Fed up now!

Blame the fact I'm back working with children for the first time in 10 years!

I am. I haven’t slept in days. I’ve a poorly one year old and I have it too.
I have been having suicidal thoughts a lot too recently. I just blurted it out to DH after he started having a go at me for being miserable. He says I’m not fit to look after my son on my own now and what is his boss going to think when he calls him tomorrow and tells him he can’t come to work because his wife wants to kill herself.
I feel totally fucking worthless and inadequate.
I’ve been trying so hard to be a good mom but no mattter how hard I try I keep failing. It seems as though everyone else finds it easy to do things that seem so difficult for me.

Me too. Woke up with red eye and swollen. Gp sent me to a & e. I have a virus. Bloomin painful. Feel as though I’ve been punched.
You have my sympathy. Can only get better as they say! At least it’s out the way for Christmas.
Plus my ds 3 just threw up all down my back and legs. He’s recovering from pneominia. TIL on tomorrow

Went to dr's thinking I had a chest infection. Gp sent me straight to hospital. I actually have suspected angina. I'm 40 and scared.

@ethelfleda-please talk to your GP, and if they are shit useless, talk to another one. You can feel better. Your DH’s response was fucking awful. I’m sorry. We think you are extremely likeable & I, for one, would happily welcome you aboard the Fucked Off Fiji Special.

@TrueCrimeToll that's unfair. I think it's understandable if the leave vote has left your family in complete turmoil. I have friends who have no idea whether their husbands/wives will get residency. And I know a friend who is having to move back to UK after years living abroad with family and building a life, due to brexit.

@ethelfleda definitely speak to your GP. I've been where you are, you can get better from this.

I'm in for Fiji too please! Had the year from hell, single parent being ground down into the dirt by the relentlessness of doing it all on my own, DD has spent the last month getting a tummy bug, then hand foot and mouth, then a hideous cough and cold, then croup. Ive had the worst cough and cold I've ever had the last week or so and have never felt less Christmassy in my life. Fiji sounds AWESOME.

Can I join you? I haven't slept properly in days either because of this stupid bloody cold. My throat feels awful, my nose is bunged up and I just generally feel like crap. Thankfully don't have to go to work though as I'm already off.

DH was on Christmas do last night. Rolled in at 4am. No issue with that in general, just not midweek when I’m up for work at 6:30.

I’m bollocksed. I’m on leave next week and have just realized that the boss is off after today for the rest of this week. Therefore I’ll be here til 9pm finishing off everything that needs his signature before I go away.

My stomach is in knots every time I eat. There’s nothing wrong with me according to the doctor - have had shit tests and blood tests and there’s no evidence of any infection or virus. But every time I eat I feel like I swallowed a tiny little boxer who is punching the crap out of my guts.

I have no idea what to order for DHs family for Christmas. He’s been charged with finding out what people want. They’ve said ‘surprise them’. So now we’re stuck.

(And now time for the utter first world rant) im off on a beach holiday for Christmas. I’ve lost shedloads of weight (3 dress sizes) and have no summer clothes. There’s none in the shops despite it being hot and sunny where I live. Even if I could find clothes, I’m skint from paying for the holiday and have no excess money to replace the clothes, and the tailor I usually use for alterations is busy.

Totally self indulgent ranting. Nothing critical. But I feel crappy and not seeing woods for the trees.

My cold has gone from the runny annoying phase to the completely blocked, feel like underwater, sound like smoked 40 fags a day for 50 years phase.

I sound so ridiculous DH can't help but laugh whenever I talk.

It sounds dreadful for you. Could it be ibs? Or an allergy to something? Won’t necessarily show up in gp tests.
It’s a right faff trying to eliminate what foods etc cause you allergies but it’s worth it. Start with the most obvious things.
Ibs can be stress and anxiety related. My friend has it, and it causes her no end of trouble. But it can be managed. Hope you feel better soon. X

@thefiswhocoukdwish please get yourself checked. I’m not a doctor but have Crohn’s disease / ulcerative colitis and it can sometimes manifest with your symptoms. It’s far more likely to be something else but please get it checked as it’s treatable.
