Anyone else just feel fucking sorry for themselves today?

I have woken up with a cold. Just a cold. Except I feel bloody awful, couldn't sleep all night and now have to go to work with a razor blade throat, running nose and listen to clients moan about us daring to be closed over Christmas.

Who else is having a shitty Monday already?

Okay I’m going to Fiji with my DD then we could use some sun and calm

I have barely slept in months due to stress which seems to have given me a digestive disorder so I woke this morning with a weird feeling in my throat and chest, many hours before I needed to get up and then couldn't get back to sleep. Woke with a thump in my solar plexus and that feeling of oh shit which has been going on for too long, and now am worried about never being able to eat properly again.

Fiji is gonna be packed this Christmas! We have to all promise to be quiet & calm & share the sun-loungers

Seriously though, for anyone with dying parents, partners who upped & left, sick DCs, bouncing rent payments et al, hope your 2019 sees considerably happier times

Fiji me now. I woke up with a cold too. I also have a three week old, a two year old who screams his head off every time she sneezes or cries, our car just died, MIL is being a nightmare, I won't go on.

Mostly it's the cold though. Feel like death.

Colditz- am a UTI veteran. Cranberry doesn’t help much and cappuccino won’t be good either- avoid caffeine and alcohol. Drink gallons of water, hot water bottle too.

Dr was 30mins late for my appt then i came out the surgery to a completely flat tyre, someone has took a stab at it with something sharp

I have caught my daughters cold. work is insanely busy. My house is a tip..... Fiji sounds lovely!

Nowhere near ready for Christmas, skint, cars broke, house is a mess. Will be working over Christmas and New Year... Was feeling sorry for myself but my 18 year old daughter is at a friend's funeral today. A family are saying goodby to their 18 year old child. Makes you realise that even on bad days, you are so so lucky!!

Me too please. My DS is back from a visit to his dads (first time in a year). His dad has lied through his teeth about me and now DS hates me for leaving his dad and splitting the family up. This happened 7 years ago. Of course XDP "forgot" to mention that it was actually the police and social services that removed him after I rang them when he attacked me on Christmas Day. But I can't tell DS that as he has SEN and is vunerable.

Cold getting gradually worse as the day goes on. Cue comments from colleagues about looking like death etc.etc.

I've just had surgery and haven't been able to sleep very well for the last 3 days, no one to spend Christmas with and would love to be on a beach with a cold drink. I'll take a one way ticket please!

I felt sorry for myself this morning as it took me 90 mins to get to work on the bus and felt under the weather until I saw all the homeless in Manchester City Centre. I soon stopped as I thought about the lovely bed I had got out of that morning and my hot shower.

@Colditz step away from the cappuccinos...believe me they are your worst nightmare right now. If drinking cranberry from a supermarket get the one with the lowest citrus acid % the cheaper ones are very high and are bad. What antibiotic did you get? I have had more UTIs than I have had hot dinners. I went through 2 years when I had one constantly. If near a pharmacy get Cystopurin or the Boots equivalent. Stay away from caffeine, soft drinks, spicy foods etc. I find a bath helps for a short time, but water only. don't add any products.

I was so bad one day that I rang DP and had him drive an hour to pick me up and bring me to doc. as it was out of hours and I had no doc in the area I had to have a fight with the receptionist on the out of hours service just to get an appointment.

PS I want to come to Fiji too!! So need a holiday in the sun!
