Anyone else just feel fucking sorry for themselves today?

I have woken up with a cold. Just a cold. Except I feel bloody awful, couldn't sleep all night and now have to go to work with a razor blade throat, running nose and listen to clients moan about us daring to be closed over Christmas.

Who else is having a shitty Monday already?

Oh, and all of the above is why I have five or six o'clock wake-up migraines most mornings. Nice.

I have various autoimmune disorders and have had/been recovering from flu for over a month. Just when I’ve started to feel better I’ve developed an abscess on one of my wisdom teeth. I haven’t left my bedroom since Friday. The pain is maddening.

Fear not Smurf - I bring you tidings if great joy! I had cracked tooth and sinusitis just before Christmas 2 years ago - extraction was painless, sinusitis disappeared completely and I could eat normally the next day

As if being mugged off by a rude bus driver wasn't enough. Autistic DS2 is being very challenging at school, so I got kicked in the shins at pick up.

Oh and I've just started getting UTI symptoms too but have no money for medicine.

Can no longer function. Getting dirty looks from colleagues as sniffling/coughing/making strange noises from nose at my desk.

Have told DH I expect head strokes and chicken soup when I am home.

Am very dramatic but no longer care.

Your colleagues are probably pretty pissed off that they’re now likely to get your cold just in time for Christmas. I’m feeling a bit better this afternoon but am still coughing and spluttering so will probably stay off tomorrow too, though luckily I can work from home.

ThanosSavedMe yes probably though have done best to quarantine myself and bathe in anti bac at regular intervals throughout the day.

Been hoping boss may suggest going home but no such luck. We are so busy this week I doubt they would if my head were to hit my desk.

Anti bac only kills bacteria, not viruses. It's fairly useless against colds, flu, tummy bugs etc.

Just remembered I have the dentist on Weds. It won't be good. My mouth is a mess as I haven't been able to fin an NHS dentist for months. I hate the dentist.

Yeah me. My chemo isn't working. A friend of ours died at the weekend in a horrible accident. I'm short on the staff wages because I can't work just now so had to use DH's wage to make up the shortfall and now we've got stuff bouncing all over the place.

Today can fuck right off.

Also coming to bloody Fiji. I'll take my parents and my DP, they're the only ones atm who don't piss me off. The rest of the world does.

See I never know what to do for the best with colds as there seems to be a 'its just a cold' mentality when it comes to being off work but at the same time who wants to catch one? And I certainly feel like I should be in bed.

Bad timing though especially given most of my clients would likely have a heart attack if their solicitor was off ill a few days before Christmas... After they'd complained of course!

And if I'm getting into the more serious stuff, I've just gotten over my 5th (or 6th I can't ever remember anymore) miscarriage hence why I'm extra reluctant to take time off.

I have one ASD child who is not coping with the upheaval of Christmas at all. I have another child who is streaming with cold. I am streaming with cold. I want to run far away from it all. I promise to be quiet and am happy to take the smallest room in Fiji, I won't get in anyone's way I promise. I just want to read and sleep.

Yep I feel your pain! Feel like crap and had to go to work and pretend I'm happy about it!

Second period this month and it's a bad one, cold sore that's been hanging on for over a week, got a cold (?) With a totally bunged up nose so having to "sleep" propped up (so no real sleep)

ASD partner who cannot deal with shopping while it's this crazy.

DWP refusing to hand over paperwork for DP's PIP appeal so we're 10 weeks overdue and skint.

I'm on annual leave. No more til April.
