Christmas present for cleaner

1st world problems here
Any ideas of a nice present for cleaner. I don't earn much more than her- and she's really lovely.
Was also thinking something small for her kids but haven't met them.

You could get the kids a chocolate selection box each, and for her you could get her some posher chocs, christmassy scented candle and some nice bubble bath/body lotion?
Not the most exciting of gifts but all things that people enjoy and you can’t really go too wrong with them

SilverySurfer · 14/12/2018 11:40

I give mine money since I know that's what she needs most.

MatildaTheCat · 14/12/2018 11:50

I give chocolates and vouchers. In the past I’ve done handcream, wine etc but yes, cash or the equivalent is probably what they are really hoping for.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 14/12/2018 11:53

An extra £10 in a card with a lovely message?

Bottle of cava

Nice box of chocolates

Gloves or scarf

BunsOfAnarchy · 14/12/2018 11:54

Honeybooboo123 · 14/12/2018 12:10

we are giving her a £75 bonus, she's great

Jaxhog · 14/12/2018 12:11

Special chocs? That's what I get mine. She usually gives me a plant.

AlaskanOilBaron · 14/12/2018 12:12

Cash.

Lazybonita · 14/12/2018 12:14

I’m giving my cleaner a bottle of the wine she likes and £20 in a card.

TheViceOfReason · 14/12/2018 12:21

I left a nice box of chocolate and £40 in a card.

wink1970 · 14/12/2018 12:27

My cleaner is also my stepdaughter. She's getting a week's worth of money as a bonus and lots of nice Christmas presents as she's ace!

I also second hand creams.

NanFlanders · 14/12/2018 12:30

We got ours a nice scarf and a perfume making kit for her little girl (and a Christmas box). We have had her for 10 years and she's fab.

SpamChaudFroid · 14/12/2018 12:30

There was a thread on this a few weeks ago. Some said they gave their cleaner 4 weeks wages and a "token gift". (It got rather competitive.)

SpoonBlender · 14/12/2018 12:31

Booze/chocs/cash, preferably all three if you can.

AGHHHH · 14/12/2018 12:34

Money!

And a box of Lindor.

cingolimama · 14/12/2018 12:37

CASH!

timeisnotaline · 14/12/2018 12:45

A weeks wages and some chocs

NanooCov · 14/12/2018 13:03

I've given mine a body shop gift set, a cash bonus and an M&S gift card (the latter because she's pregnant and won't be with us much longer before going on maternity leave). In previous years I've bought chocs and Costa gift cards.

Pollaidh · 14/12/2018 13:03

An extra week's wages and a box of nice chocolates. With previous good cleaners I've done 2-3 times their salary in a bonus, but this one isn't very good.

blackteasplease · 14/12/2018 13:04

Money plus something little like biscuits or chocolate

Loobyloo16 · 14/12/2018 13:06

As a cleaner i always appreciate money the most but its especiallly nice to get card saying, thankyou for all you do, or words to that effect. Don't underestimate a few kind words.

CottonSock · 14/12/2018 13:11

@Loobyloo16 I had never thought of the importance of a message, so thank you. I give mine cash, enough to cover the holiday. I guess this year that will be £60 though as she's having two weeks. I might give 50 which I still feel is generous. She's cheap though
