To think Tim and Dawn are one of the best-ever TV couples?

Seriously, is one of the most satisfying moments I've ever seen. Rewatching it, even now after all these years, still brings a tear to my eye!

(Bonus in the clip is David telling Finchy to fuck off!)

I did think it was lovely.

But do you think they’d still be together? I can’t make up my mind Grin

I did think it was funny how her and the prick partner she had had come over from Florida for a ‘visit’ and they’d already said they were there illegally and had no visa so she wouldn’t hsvf been able to go back anyway 😂

(Possibly thinking about that too deeply)

DorisDances · 14/12/2018 10:18

Beautifully observed acting - I agree OP

darkriver198868 · 14/12/2018 10:20

I have never seen The Office. Chandler and Monica are life goals for me!

DannyWallace · 14/12/2018 10:20

I LOVE this bit. I just watched it the other day too!!
But I agree...I really wonder if they would've stayed together (the romantic in me says yes!!)

Roobub · 14/12/2018 21:11

Totally agree! Love them and the show in general!

I also really rate the American version of the office and I liked the Jim and Pam romance in that one too!

Anticlockwatcher · 14/12/2018 21:15

Nope - didn't like that at all - either in UK or US office. Both couples were horrible people to Gareth/Dwight, who were both absolutely lovely misunderstood individuals.

OldSpeclkledHen · 14/12/2018 21:34

To my shame... I've honestly only found out this evening that Martin Freeman (Sherlock ) played Tim 😳😳😳😳

Roobub · 14/12/2018 21:37

Gareth "So I could look up there.... At it" lovely?! Nah!

Letthenamesbegin · 14/12/2018 21:39

I still get goosebumps when I hear “only you” the song they snogged to

ChasedByBees · 14/12/2018 21:44

I prefer Jim and Pam in the US version, but Tim and Dawn are lovely too.

Kitsandkids · 14/12/2018 21:51

I much prefer the US version. And I would argue at Jim and Pam being mean to Dwight. Dwight gives as good as he gets (remember the snowball episode?) and at the end he asks Jim to be his Best Man.

Roobub · 14/12/2018 22:03

@Kitsandkids do love that episode where Dwight gets a head injury and him and Pam accidentally become friends too Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/12/2018 22:06

Gareth was lovely? It's been years since I watched it but wasn't he a creep?

OP posts:
GunpowderGelatine · 14/12/2018 22:13

Gareth was odious! Snivelling, brown nosing racist sexist disablist little twerp!

But yes Tim and Dawn are couple goals and that songs always reminds me of this scene

ScreamingValenta · 14/12/2018 22:16

I agree. Another good moment is the put-out expression on David's ex-boss's face when David's blind date turns out to be attractive and intelligent.

ScreamingValenta · 14/12/2018 22:17

Haven't seen the US version but loved the British series - should I watch the US one or will it be a let-down?

NotPennysBoat · 14/12/2018 22:22

I don't like the uk version (can't stand RG), but LOVE the us version. Jim & Pam's story is sooo lovely. And the final ever episode is just magical!

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/12/2018 22:25

@ScreamingValenta David also looked genuinely happy for Tim and Dawn at the end.

I watched the first few series of the US Office and it was actually pretty good.

MadisonAvenue · 14/12/2018 22:27

NotPenny Give it a try, we all love it in our house.

Love Tim and Dawn, and Jim and Pam

RayRayBidet · 14/12/2018 22:31

Gareth really wasn't lovely and misunderstood. He was a wanker.

Ozil10 · 14/12/2018 22:33

They're a very close second to Gavin and Stacey for me.

But that scene is beautifully acted.

TulipsInbloom1 · 14/12/2018 22:33

Yy to Tim and Dawn. Plus Phil and Claire Dunphy (til after halfway anyways), and Pam and Mick Shipman

ChayngeName · 14/12/2018 22:34

Gareth was an arsehole, all he did was stitch people up, he deserved a good wind-up played on him Grin

I LOVED Tim and Dawn, you are most definitely not being unreasonable OP

Hobbes8 · 14/12/2018 22:40

The nice thing about the American Office is it goes on longer than the British version so you get to see Pam and Jim after they’ve got together and see their relationship develop.

Unfortunately it goes on a couple of series too long, after their David Brent/Michael Scott leaves, after the mock documentary thing has become totally artificial and ridiculous, and Jim and Pam have utterly unrealistic issues with their relationship.

It is sweet how they all forge unlikely friendships though, with both Michael and Dwight. My work feels a bit like that sometimes.

Dramallama16 · 14/12/2018 22:54

The best comedy line ever comes from this episode.

“I was waiting for a blind date and was worried you were it”.

Genius.
