Watching Horrid Henry and his parents are complete dickheads. Playing favourites, letting Peter get away with murder and always being mean to Henry? I know I sound like a ten year old but I actually feel sorry for Henry 😂

What TV parents can’t you stand? (Topsy and Tim’s are also annoying in their own ways..)

Mummy Pig. She is unkind to Daddy Pig and allows the children to mock him too. She never tells Peppa off.

I think yanbu the mum more so she seems to delight in it. The dad however took him on a nice fishing trip today and got him out of a boring show.

Why are the twins never really patented in Ben and Holly’s little kingdom. Where is Ryder’s mum or dad? Since his a child himself. Why is daddy pig the but of the jokes and nobody cares that peppa is so mean.

I would much rather have Henry as my son than Peter! Can't stand that suck up. The parents are so mean!!!! I also dislike Peppa, she has an attitude problem. I love Ben and Holly's little kingdom! Nanny Plum🙌🏼 I have a sister 18 years younger than me so we've watched them all!

Nanny plum’s voice drives me absolutely mad, like nails on a chalkboard. Not sure why as it really isn’t that bad.

Though I do keep hoping for a secret episode where Ruby finally has enough, locks Max in a cupboard and leaves for the Bahamas.

I thought that when i watched and read it when i was younger, Henry's mother was vile to him even when he was trying to do good.

I didn’t think they were so bad in the books but I also think he was naughtier in the books. Maybe they’ve run out of ideas but now he just seems to be victim of a whiny younger brother who gets whatever he wants!

We watched Horrid Henry for the first (and last) time recently. His parents are awful. How do they expect him to behave when they call him horrid all the time?

Topsy and Tim’s mum clearly sakes through parenting with gin and Valium.

I mean seriously ‘oh dear you’ve lost granny’s dog’ oh what a shame Topsy has appendicitis’ ‘oh Tim you’ve spilt a kilogram of sugar all over the nice clean floor’.

She never loses it, ever, she never even rolls her eyes at her irritating children. It’s not normal.

This one of the reasons why I stopped letting my oldest watch Horrid Henry. They are just so mean!
Also another that’s not tv but the parents in Home Alone, if we ignore the obvious fact they forgot their child. The fact they are okay with a grown adult calling their kid a jerk!! Made me rage the other day watching it 🙈

Peter is a whiny little turd who deserve the short shrift he gets from Henry - whose parents deserve a thorough smacking themselves. The extent to which they let that smug little gobshite goad his brother with his endless comparisons "I've done this mummy...." then they lash out at Henry for reacting.

Mot so much the parents but I find Peter Rabbit insufferable. His dad has vandalised Mr McGregor's property.

Peppa is banned in this house so far as I watched it with DN and couldn’t believe how horrible she was.

Tipsy and Tim’s parents are annoying as they refer to them by name at strange times, like when they’re the only other person in the room with them.

I can’t stand how Bing’s parent/guardian Flop doesn’t tell him that he’s done something naughty or do anything other than go ‘Oh Bing, it’s no big thing!’
Yes Flop you stupid beanbag, it is a big thing, as now my child thinks it’s fine to crush butterflies and throw other people’s shoes in the loo.

I have found my people.

DH and I have a loud conversation whenever Horrid Henry comes on screen, about how awful his parents are and how unbrotherly perfect Peter is. We critique it the whole way through!

PP was unfortunately the only thing to please my youngest for the first 18m of his life. I'm pleased to say he's branched out to others now and he only really interacts with silent peppa toys!

Charlie & Lola. I have long subscribed to a mumsnet-poster's theory that Lola is a sociopath that killed their parents and Charlie is desperately trying to keep everyone else safe by placating her every whim. It makes sense.
