To be miffed for Emily Atack

Because everything seems to be about her looks. I thought she was beautiful on I'm A Celebrity. Her smile literally lit her whole face up and she seemed supportive, funny and down to earth. She just came across as a really lovely woman.

But watching the penultimate episode (I am very behind) with her mum saying her nails were dirty and her hair was messy (and then after saying how proud she was)and then when she came out, Harry Redknapp saying he thought she stood no chance with his son because of how she looked but seeing her with make up on now he has changed his mind Hmm

I actually think she is more beautiful without make up and with her big grin and it is sad that someone so lovely can still be criticised.

I know I am over invested so rant over Grin

I think she's lovely. She does look different without make up but she's a natural beauty. And her personality is great. I didn't realise Harry said that about her, must have missed it.

As someone who vaguely knows Emily, I can report they are a very close family who all get on tremendously well (proper party animals!), and that she is a vibrant and popular young woman. I think someone on the other thread referred to ehr as very 'theatre school' which is not true at all : she went to the local comp . However her family are all showbiz.

I think the telling thing for Emily's self image is that she was cast in the In Betweeners based on her slightly 'seaside postcard' looks and has therefore always been expected to be 'beautiful' and Goddess like.

She'll be OK. She's the one of all the contestants who will probably build a career out of her appearance in the Jungle.

I like Jamie Redknapp , but am not sure either of them would in reality be keen on the matchmaking : it really was a joke in the context of the programme.

I was reading the iacgmooh thread it got a bit joyless some people will find fault in nothing much Emily is as a pp pointed out she is from a proper shoebiz family she is hardly going to be a wall flower is she.

Jamie Redknapp is much hotter than Emily, let's be honest now. And he's not just fit but also a millionaire ex-footballer, he'll have his pick of women. I definitely don't blame her for trying though Grin

I don't think Harry meant anything derogatory, she'd made a joke of it previously.

Some people do look massively different made-up, Fleur included!

Emily is lovely. You're taking things too seriously. Her mum said, in letter, that she loved seeing Emily's unmade up freckly face which was just like she looked up at her as a nine year old. I thought that was nice.

Harry liked her too, men say stuff like that.

No harm was meant.

I was really shocked at her mum, all she kept talking about were her freckles, dirty hair and nails etc. I thought Emily was fantastic

It's the first year really there hasn't been a model in there and the ensuing bikini parade. Just normal women having showers, no preening. That was refreshing. The media is just trying retrospectively to create what wasn't there in the show.

Harry didn't need to say that in the jungle because Emily herself did!

Who'd want Jamie Redknapp anyway? He might be attractive but his personality needs a lot to be desired. He's always moaning and whining about the things the others do/say on A League Of Their Own.

I couldn't put up with it! It'd seem he's a product of his upbringing given his mum does everything for his dad and likely looks(looked) after her sons the same way. No wonder Louise wanted out, she said she was fed up of being a 'housewife' and not having her own career.... I bet Jamie wanted babying too. Emily's better out of it!
