My daughter loves it, her Christmas present this year is to see Moana at Disney on Ice, I cant wait

WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 11/12/2018 23:59

YANBU. Moana is arguably the best Disney film ever made except the Lion King

NewYoiker · 12/12/2018 00:07

First 10 minutes of up! And then when he reads the rest of the scrap book 😭😭😭😭 snotty mess. I did cry at coco but not moana 😳

OverTheHedgeSammy · 12/12/2018 00:15

Oh I LOVE Moana. Only thing that annoys me is that when I went through the credits, there were barely any females that worked on the movie. They make a movie with a fabulous female lead and they don't involve women in the making of it??!!

Thestral · 12/12/2018 00:21

It's a brilliant film.

I read an article somewhere that said that some therapists are using the interaction between Moana and Te Ka to help heal children who have experienced trauma. Sob even more when I see it now after reading that!

ItchyEyeballs · 12/12/2018 00:29

I love Moana, although I don't cry. Coco, on the other hand, gets me every time.

And the song at the end of Meet The Robinson's when Lewis gets adopted? Total blubfest SadBlush

OwlsAndBears · 12/12/2018 00:30

Love Coco, Frozen, Moana, and Brave. Am so pleased that Disney are doing more interesting plot lines for female characters now.

ThistleAmore · 12/12/2018 00:49

@OwlsAndBears - yes, love Brave, too! Am Scottish, so was very pleased to have a Disney Princess speak in my accent!

Also, was thrilled that Julie Fowlis (who sang 'Touch the Sky') got the recognition she deserved - such a phenomenal voice and talent.

Lovingbenidorm · 12/12/2018 00:54

I love Disney and agree all films mentioned are good uns but for pure tear fest it’s got to be Coco.
When he sings the song with her at the end it’s SOO EMOTIONAL 😭

Fevertree · 12/12/2018 00:57

Yes! Icame hete to say the bit where het mum helps her pack! Waaa 😭

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 12/12/2018 01:00

The soundtrack for Moana is everything. Lin Manuel Miranda is a genius... I find myself leaving it on even when the kids aren’t in the car Grin

WhyAmISoCold · 12/12/2018 15:16

"Up there with bit of Toy Story 3 when Andy's mum walks into his empty room.

Fucking traumatised!"

Oh god, yes to this!! And when the toys are in the incinerator and they know they can't get out so hold hands 😫😫.

Disney is evil!

Tangled gets me, the lanterns bit with Rapunzel and Eugene in the boat.

CoperCabana · 12/12/2018 15:23

Ok, so I am crying just reading this thread!

TheChickenOfTruth · 12/12/2018 16:01

We set a course to find a brand new island everywhere we roooooooooaaaam

Joinourclub · 12/12/2018 18:47

I watched Moana this morning thanks to this thread!

We know who we are, who we AAARRRREEE

SignOnTheWindow · 12/12/2018 18:54

Feeling a bit choked up just reading this thread. Totally my favourite Disney film.

Strongarms27 · 12/12/2018 19:01

I watched Moana on the day I found out I was pregnant. I pretty much cried (happy tears) throughout. It is the best Disney film ever!
TooManyButtons, I have serious envy. I am definitely taking DD to Disney to see if we can meet Moana in real life!

SheNumpty · 12/12/2018 19:40

If you cry at Moana you'll be in bits over Coco! I love both.

OverTheHedgeSammy · 12/12/2018 23:55

Aue, aue
We set a course to find
A brand new Island everywhere we roam
Aue, aue
We keep our Island in our mind
And when it’s time to find home
We know the way

So awesome....

IShitChristmasGlitter · 15/12/2018 11:35

IShitChristmasGlitter you were warned!

LeslieYep · 15/12/2018 22:27

We have Moana on repeat in this house too. DD 2 loves it. Watching her face change as it gets sad, scary and happy for her is amazing.
DH also loves it, but has to FF past grandma dying. He gets something in his eye a few times during that film. We are big fans!

Have downloaded Coco, but have yet to watch!

GreenEggsHamandChips · 15/12/2018 22:35

...Sometimes the world seems against you
The journey may leave a scar
But scars can heal and reveal just
Where you are...

That bit, every single time. But moana got me through a bit of a tough time

Coco on the other hand i hated. Mostly because i had no clue on the subject matter and was sat wuth three vulnerable child whose fathers definitely were shits and had chosen to abandon them. I spent the whole film worrying about the fallout
