So ant keeps his job...and lisa looses hers?how is this fair or legal.
If he was any sort of decent man he would insist she keeps her job.and insist that he can work amicably with her.

That is so shitty. The poor woman.

Calvinsmam · 10/12/2018 14:18

What’s going on?

Veganfortheanimals · 10/12/2018 14:19

Completely sends the wrong message.the woman looses out yet again...good old ant can do no wrong

madmum5811 · 10/12/2018 14:20

She is freelance, he is an employee, not sure what else HR could have done in these circumstances.

Veganfortheanimals · 10/12/2018 14:21

Lisa lost her job as a make up artist ,on bgt in case it was awkward for poor ant..fuck the fact that's been her job for 10 years .but no ant must come first

Veganfortheanimals · 10/12/2018 14:23

Eerrr I don't know madmum...Perhaps he could of shown a shred of decency and insisted they could work together...nothing like kicking someone when they are down ...

She's not being 'fired' as such, she's just not having her contract renewed for another season. Nothing illegal about that, just the reality of working on a contract.

I don't think Ant would really have any say in it. He can say they can work amicably but there is really no way to guarantee it and I don't think it's something they will risk. It's too expensive a production.

LucilleBluth · 10/12/2018 14:25

I'm not sure why she would want to work with him tbh. I thinks it's time to let him move on. I wouldn't want to work with my ex husband.

SylviaAndSydney · 10/12/2018 14:25

Sexism, really? It’s sad for her though, she’s still clearly hurting over the split.

dinosaurglitterrepublic · 10/12/2018 14:26

I fail to see how it is sexist? Ant hosts the show. They wouldn’t find new hosts just to keep a make up artist. It’s more about a couple splitting up and them having to pick one party to work with, they pick the main one. It’s fair enough if producers felt that given the acrimonious separation they couldn’t have both. If Lisa was the host and Ant the make up artist, the decision would have been reversed.

As another pp said, technically she didn’t lose her job as she was freelance, but I think that is not exactly the point.

madmum5811 · 10/12/2018 14:26

off topic, but I worry about the dog.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 10/12/2018 14:26

There's no indication that this was down to Ant at all - it may well have been that Lisa didn't want to work with Ant; especially given her social posts about him and his new partner.

Or it may be that both were fine about working together but ITV felt that it was too risky for a high-cost production.

Or it could be that the reason her contract has expired is nothing at all to do with Ant.

Usernumbers1234 · 10/12/2018 14:27

I’m sorry, you think people should be sacked for having extra marital affairs?

It’s not good, but it’s got sod all to do with his job and it’s not sexism its common sense. He’s a cash cow to ITV she’s a backstage worker, albeit an excellent one by all accounts. It’s not sexism, it’s business. Had she been the presenter, it would have been the other way around.

Bombardier25966 · 10/12/2018 14:29

The Ant Dec presenting partnership bring in millions for ITV. They are under long term contracts with ITV (albeit unlikely to be employees, these things are usually done as a contract of service).

The make up artist is ten a penny. She's no longer under contract.

That's not sexism, it's business.

Veganfortheanimals · 10/12/2018 14:32

As she has lost her job. Not him ..and as she lost it because of him..that's sexist? .i just think it's wrong .and unfair .

OP posts:
Bombardier25966 · 10/12/2018 14:32

especially given her social posts about him and his new partner.

Just had a look, given her conduct on there it's no wonder they didn't renew her contract. Even if she had employment rights she'd be on thin ice.

Bombardier25966 · 10/12/2018 14:33

@Vegan She's lost her job because her contract has ended.

Seniorcitizen1 · 10/12/2018 14:35

There is no sexism here. Ant is the star part of itv’s top attraction. His ex-wife is a back of the office makeup person which are probably two a penny. This is sound business - you keep your star asset happy, whether male or female, and if this means letting their freelance ex-partner whether male or female go then that’s what any business would do - nothing to do with gender and all about star qualities

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 10/12/2018 14:38

I don't think it's sexism but I don't like the way they are going out of their way to protect Ant. I don't think anyone will see him in the same way again and I think he's ruined his career.

Eliza9917 · 10/12/2018 14:50

@Bombardier25966 Links please!

Samcro · 10/12/2018 14:53

sadly Ant can do no wrong. drink driver who cheated on his wife, keeps his job.
hopefully people will just not watch him.

ShalomJackie · 10/12/2018 14:54

Seriously say for example Holly W had a partner who was her stylist and the smae circumstances- do you think they would keep Holly or the stylist? It is purely financial business decisio

abbsisspartacus · 10/12/2018 14:56

It's a purely financial decision which sticks in my throat to be honest

SylviaAndSydney · 10/12/2018 14:59

Just looked on her Twitter page, gosh she wears her heart on her sleeve 😬.

BrendasUmbrella · 10/12/2018 15:03

Nothing illegal about that, just the reality of working on a contract.

True, yet if they were still married she would almost definitely still be there. It's unfair.
