DP is 45. Wears quite trendy clothes. I think he looks great.
However. He has taken to slipping into something more comfortable in the evenings! Oh my goodness! He has got himself some tracksuit bottoms from primark. They are BAD! A plum colour, all baggy round the knees and bum. He came into the room last night wearing an old crumpled sweatshirt and the bottoms. My DD 12 was laughing and saying Dad you look like a hobo (light hearted, he was laughing aswell)
He has agreed for me to get him some 'loungewear' for Christmas. Budget is low! Any ideas? What do your DH DP wear for relaxing?!

Take the piss out of your partner/parents/kids as much as you like. When you bring that to a public forum and your piss taking includes ridiculing the appearance of homeless people you can expect people to Hmm at that. There are more mean girls than just the OPs daughter on this thread.

Valasca · 09/12/2018 18:10

Oh dear OP. Get thee self to New & Lingwood tout de suite and pick him up a proper velvet dressing gown. It’s a bit pricey for £2500 but if you’re struggling, they do offer a 10% discount if one signs up to their newsletters.

This would definitely not be allowed now - for those of us of a certain age...

My dh wears t shirts and jogging bottoms in the evenings, you can get loungewear cheaply from Boohoo.com

Pinkyyy · 09/12/2018 18:30

God some of you wouldn't last a day in my house if you think 'hobo' is offensive. They say it in a bloody Disney film!!

He's your partner, you're meant to love him. He's in his own home so let him wear whatever he goddamn likes and get over yourself, you snooty cow.

hahaha some posters have suddenly looked at what they look like, and are feeling the pinch.

It's quite sad if you can'd find a comfortable outfit that also looks attractive . I love my husband more because he makes a minimum of effort for me, and vice-versa. He's the one I have sex with, not the randoms I meet in the street, he's the one I spend my life with, he's the one I want to be comfortable whilst being as attractive as possible!

Velvet dressing gowns look like Del Boy would wear Grin

Lol @IamSusan I completely agree, no one is expecting anyone to wear a cocktail dress while watching TV but there's no excuse for grotty trousers with holes in. Then again I'm the kind of person who probably wouldn't stay with my DH if he put on 5 stone and wouldn't expect him to stay with me if I did 🤷‍♀️

GunpowderGelatine · 09/12/2018 18:38

Is this too much OP?

I didn't realize this type of person existed. How sad. If I thought for a second that my DH felt that way, I'd be out the door.

GunpowderGelatine · 09/12/2018 18:43

Well i quite like fancying my husband and him fancying me. If I didn't fancy him he's just a unattractive friend I live with.

PositiveVibez · 09/12/2018 18:47

I get home and take off my hat, silk gloves

Please tell me you are a magician 🤞

Pinkyyy · 09/12/2018 18:48

GunpowderGelatine I'm actually in shock. So you have to maintain your beauty or be replaced?

GunpowderGelatine · 09/12/2018 18:52

There's maintaining beauty and there's changing my entire appearance - if my husband stopped fancying me I wouldn't expect him to stick around no.

My brother gained 10 stone in the 2 years after marrying his wife, and he became lazy with it. She left him after asking him to lose weight for several years and he wouldn't because he said she should accept him for who he was. I love my brother but I don't blame her, he became unrecognisable

IamSusan · 09/12/2018 18:55

I am on the fence here.

If my DH gets ill, I support him, he's still the one I married.

If my DH decides to change from the fit and interesting man I was attracted to in the first place, to become a slob on the sofa piling on weight whilst watching crap tv all day, then we'll have to rethink things. I am faithful to the man I married, not some hobo who took over.
We all aged, we change a bit, but you can't have a personality transplant and expect everything else to stay the same.

GunpowderGelatine · 09/12/2018 19:10

You've worded it better than I @IamSusan - DH is a fit and healthy man, always has been, and not lazy in the least. To pile on weight would be like being with a different person

katseyes7 · 09/12/2018 19:13

nobeer Falls off sofa laughing....

Kittykat93 · 09/12/2018 19:19

Bet the op wish she hadn't bothered posting now. I bloody knew everyone would jump on the daughters comment!

FairyBunnyAgain · 09/12/2018 19:25

DH is smarter than me around the house wearing jeans/shorts and a t-shirt mostly. However he will often come in at night having been to the gym, still in his kit and jump in the shower after that he will be wearing PJ Shorts if we are lucky and maybe a dressing gown.
Everyone here comes in from work and changes into comfies, often mismatched and never with a bra.

AlaskanOilBaron · 09/12/2018 19:32

Yes. A crusaders' thread.

GunpowderGelatine · 09/12/2018 19:46

DD has been watching Night at the Museum lately and when we poke fun at each other she's been calling us "dumb dumb". Should I lecture her about the plight of those with low IQs and send her off to do some missionary work?

Ifangyow · 09/12/2018 19:58

Have you considered a nice pair of silk pyjamas topped off with a fetching silk quilted smoking jacket for him OP? ( smoking optional )

Mine lives in jeans when he's not at work, I live in old leggings and t.shirt when I'm not at work. No one cares. Take us as you find us is the attitude in my home.

GunpowderGelatine · 09/12/2018 20:05

How can people actually sit around in jeans, are you not stuff as a board?

GunpowderGelatine · 09/12/2018 20:05

*stiff

Drogonssmile · 09/12/2018 20:11

My DH lives in jeans. I can't imagine that it's as comfy as something more forgiving but I let him get on with it. I however have a beautiful cosy black onesie with a hood and cat ears so I look like my cat. Cat thinks I'm weird and gives me funny looks. Meh.
