No invite to the wedding?

alicert · 08/12/2018 20:15

I have two close friends and through them introduced to 3 other girls.
We go out socially on nights out and holidays etc.
One of these girls was getting married today.
Me and the other 4 girls planned her hen weekend and all went away for two nights.
The girls were talking about how good her wedding would be but I got no invite.
Now I assumed I wouldn't be invited to the wedding but I assumed I would get a invite to the reception.
Nothing ...I'm the only one who went on the hen weekend without a invite.
I feel like such a idiot, now clearly I wouldn't of been missed if I hadn't of went on the weekend away as I didn't make the reception cut.
Bare in mind the reception is just a disco with a bar (you have to pay for own drinks) so she wouldn't have to pay etc
I feel like a idiot.

I think being non-confrontational generally is a really unhelpful thing.

Don’t pretend you’re not hurt, not ‘ignore it’.

When someone says ‘oh you should’ve popped in’ you should reply ‘no, I should’ve been invited as I’m supposed to be her friend, went on the hen do and helped organise it. It’s bad mannered and lacks class.’

You don’t have to shout, her angry, just say it like it is.

When you stop letting these cheeky fuckers get away with stuff you feel much better.

CJsGoldfish · 08/12/2018 21:53

I'm sorry OP. That is really mean and hurtful. Sad

I don't think any of them are good friends tbh.

cookiecrisp11 · 08/12/2018 21:59

We're you invited to the hen party or did you invite yourself by assumption? No disrespect to you but this happened to me before.

Surely a month ago you knew you weren't invited to the wedding, was anything mentioned then ? Awkward of your mates as well not to tell you, surely there have been secret discussions between them.

Hugs

tallwivglasses · 08/12/2018 22:00

I agree. Back off from all of them. It took me a long time to find really good friends but I did. You'll find your tribe.

Footballfever4 · 08/12/2018 22:00

Bitches, the lot of them

Why is someone always set as the outsider. It's so mean

disrespectfulpenguin · 08/12/2018 22:07

WOW just WOW. If you were at the hen then you should have been included in someway at the wedding/reception/disco. There is no justification for this.

MsJolly · 08/12/2018 22:13

😢😱😢

Fontofnoknowledge · 08/12/2018 22:20

Be assured OP - the ONLY people to look bad in this is the bride and these so-called friends.

Not only are they crass, rude and lacking in any social graces - they have not an inch of style or class. There is nothing in their collective behaviour to redeem them. Really lucky escape OP. Move on and find yourself some decent human adults who know what civilised behaviour is.

Aeroflotgirl · 08/12/2018 22:20

Well at least you know where you stand with them, and can make your decisions.

Boredspice · 08/12/2018 22:21

I’m so sorry but I don’t think any of them view you as a real friend. The fact that they have made a special group on WhatsApp for it and then talked about it in front of you shows you how little they care. It really hurts, I have also experienced this. Thinking people are friends but then it turns out they mean more to you than you to them.

I would be holding my head high and politely being busy whenever I was invited out. I really would. They clearly haven’t matured past high school!

Wooooooooaaaaaaaahhhhhhh · 08/12/2018 22:25

The WhatsApp group and chat make it even more hurtful. I would distance yourself.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee · 08/12/2018 22:34

That’s harsh. I’m not suprised you are upset. I’d be pissed off to have been invited to the hen do but not the wedding.

heartsofgold · 08/12/2018 22:37

Social media is a great thing but also a very powerful tool for bullies and spiteful twats.

SparkleTheTinselKitten · 08/12/2018 22:43

I have a policy of not going to hen dos if I haven’t received a wedding invite by then.

It;s shit behaviour on her part.

Nanalisa60 · 08/12/2018 23:02

That’s just not nice!! You deserve better then this!! I think as hard as it is you need to move on without these girls none of them sound that nice!!

Nanalisa60 · 08/12/2018 23:04

You are not a fool you are a nice kind person who deserves better friends then you have!!

user1484424013 · 08/12/2018 23:39

How are you doing? All of them are arsehole and you get out and about and find some new friends xx this is fucking nasty

crimsonlake · 08/12/2018 23:49

Surely the invites were sent out well before the hen do?

StoneofDestiny · 08/12/2018 23:50

Drop her like a hot brick - nobody needs a 'friend' like that.

BlueSuffragette · 08/12/2018 23:54

Get new friends. They are cruel and thoughtless.

KarmaStar · 09/12/2018 00:04

Flowersfor you.
You are not a loser.
They are sly and underhand, the bride for everything and the rest for allowing you to put in towards the gift.
Rise above them as the better person op,don't look at any more pictures, they are not worth it.
Do something nice tomorrow, spoil yourself a bit.
And don't feel alone,we are all in your side!🌺🌻🌷🌸🌸🌼🌹🌈

MrsArthurShappey · 09/12/2018 00:20

I can’t believe you chipped for the present! And they let you!

Footballfever4 · 09/12/2018 00:23

You deserve better op. It is them not you

GreenTulips · 09/12/2018 00:26

How did you end up contributing to the gift? How did you not know there was no invite until the hen do?

Very mean spirited

HippoLatte · 09/12/2018 00:33

Ouch that has to hurt OP :( It's a really shitty thing to do to anyone.
