I'm on mat leave and DS is cluster feeding all night. I'm going insane and have exhausted all of my Spotify playlists.

I need a binge watch-able tv series!

Loved:

  • Breaking Bad
  • The Street
  • Staircase
  • Evil Genius
  • Empire

But am open to all suggestions!

My 7 week old is a very demanding little thing!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/12/2018 06:20

Billions.

I did not expect to enjoy it and for the first couple of episodes you’ll hate everybody, but there are some complex relationships and some interesting story arcs that are worth sticking with.

Better Caul Saul and Nurse Jackie are in a class of their own. If you watch nothing else, watch these.

Prison Break started really well but went silly after a bit, never to recover.

Rockmysocks · 07/12/2018 06:21

Old but will also happily watch hours of:
Red dwarf
It crowd
Black books
Father Ted
Randall and hopkirk original
Shogun
Pride and prejudice with Julia whats-her-name as Lydia

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/12/2018 06:22

Also, if you can find it, The Big C, with Laura Linney. Really memorable, funny and moving series.

I was going to say The Bridge, but I see you have already seen it; never mind! That show was like a drug to me. TV series I have on DVD to rewatch (tend to be comedy or period drama), or that I record:

Phoenix Nights
Spaced
Pride and Prejudice
Call the Midwife
Doc Martin
Luther (trailer for 5 looks amazing and like they’ve got a lot of inspiration from The Bridge, actually)
Handmaids Tale
The Durrells
Masterchef in any form but Celebrity

Trashy TV I love includes ‘..... Next Top Model’ and I’m a Celebrity. This last series has been very amusing but Noel Edmonds was SO creepy; not surprising he went first.

EugenesAxe · 07/12/2018 07:20

Oh yeah crap - Game of Thrones!! Amazing. Also Sullivan’s Anne of Green Gables.

HulaHoop2012 · 07/12/2018 07:40

Greys Anatomy, very easy watching and loads of it.

EvaReady · 07/12/2018 07:51

When calls the heart - unexpectedly lovely, feel good, with some gentle humour sometimes just what you need!

Currently binging my way through Preacher - which is funny but also excessively violent.

EvaReady · 07/12/2018 07:53

@Huntawaymama Outlander doesn’t improve much as it progresses through the series - I wouldn’t bother returning to it!

IJustLostTheGame · 07/12/2018 07:54

Game of thrones
The Deuce
Peaky Blinders
The bitch in apartment 23

sabrinathethirtysomethingwitch · 07/12/2018 08:02

another vote for greys anatomy, the sinner, power, peaky blinders. We binged Game of Thrones during my pregnancy. Can't wait for the new season. Best show I've ever seen.

weleasewoderick22 · 07/12/2018 08:06

I really struggle to concentrate on a programme for any length of time, but I binge watched Sherlock on Netflix and loved it.
I surprised myself by being able to complete all the series!

JeremyCorbynsBeard · 07/12/2018 08:07

If you like foreign (subtitled) dramas, then definitely watch The Killing, Borgen and Vanished by the Lake.
